Her African heritage plays a big part of her design,“as a child, I’ve always opted for African fabric when creating, there’s just something about African prints that I’m fascinated by, it is so unique and I think that’s what makes me stand out from other designers.”

With the beautiful and vibrant aesthetic of the Ankara fabric forming the bases for all her pieces making it both versatile and fashionable. And a true expression of her African heritage and culture bringing to life the eye popping colors and diversity of the ever changing African landscape.

Ashiq Studio

Ashiq Studio was founded by Belgian designer Sabah in 2016, now based in London. Having achieved a successful career as an Architect, Sabah looks to bring the beauty she sees in the built world into people’s everyday lives. Her leather pieces are characterised by minimalist designs where curves and straight lines come together seamlessly. Sabah tests designs and hand-makes each item herself first using traditional cutting and stitching methods on leather in combination with advances in technology such as laser cutting to explore geometrically challenging shapes. Ashiq Studio believe in exposing the beauty of the raw materials rather than hiding them. Vegetable tanning is used which shows the leather characteristics such as natural skin marks and wrinkles and allows the leather to wear beautifully with time. Each piece is therefore unique. Inside lining is not used so as to expose the quality of the leather used and edges are polished at a high standard which do not need paint to hide any imperfections. Craftsmanship is valued and celebrated. These pieces are specifically designed for strong women and men who appreciate richness and luxury at its purest form translated in clean cut designs.

Caivo’s products are designed and made in Poland. Although the company was set up in Nottingham, England by Timothy Novak who is a family member and now the managing director of the company.

The team in Poland is made up of Katarzyna Rychter the designer, and her mother in-law Iwona Rychter who has many years of experience with jewellery production and quality assessing. In England Iwona’s brother Timothy worked closely with the Creative Manager Kat Puchowska and Marie McLaughlin the Operation Manager to launch the website, social media and promote the brand. The Next Best Thing

Your next best shirt

The secret to a stylish and affordable summer wardrobe, is knowing how to wear that one piece you love over and over again. And a shirt is one of those key wardrobe pieces that can take you through a hot sunny summer season.

My Top Pick

The eye catching Spot Print shirt with short rolled sleeves and cute boxy crop fit.

Rust Spot Print

It is one of those pieces that you can dress up or down and will look equally good with a pair of worn jeans or a smart work trousers.

The flattering V neckline gives the shirt a subtle sensual feel making it the right choice for a pair of Black Denim lace shorts, paired with your favourite bikini, a cute mini basket and sandals for a day of fun on the beach.

dotted shirt

Summer holidays are for sleeping in and only waking up in time for brunch. The loose fit and boxy crop fit make this shirt super easy to wear and great to pair with just about anything, like the khaki midi skirt and slider sandals for a simple and easy brunch look.

rustcoloredshirt

The rust color makes it a perfect piece for a neutral monochrome look. Pair it with a chic pair of tapered trouser in a neutral color like the Stone trousers, brown leather handbag and crochet gold slingbacks for a easy-to-wear Monday or Friday #ootd.

rolledsleeveshirt

If there is anything that is going to make your life easy on a hot summer's day, whether for work or play then it is a good shirt that is easy to wear, time and time again.

Nasra Mamoun is a jewellery designer who has been creating hand-made jewellery for over twenty years.
