In 2012, designer, Charlene Edwards decided that it was time to go at it alone. After finishing her studies having worked for successful designers such as Hemyca, Charlene was inspired to tackle the scary world of fashion without a safety net.

A family woman, Charlene managed to balance life and work to develop an intriguing brand that epitomizes the strong, professional woman. Knowing that hard work is as important as hard play, Charlene Edwards Fashion provides high-end designs for women all over the world.
Charlene Edwards has always dreamt of being successful and knew she had a natural talent in art from a young age. Wanting to give her son something to aspire to, 'so here I am, making my dreams come true'

A budding, aspirational, professional woman's wear fashion and textile's designer Charlene Edwards collection is inspired by natural elements, abstract art and African symbols which correlate together. The collection is entitled 'Umi' meaning back to basics. The silhouettes are informed by sculptural art, the materials have been selected for textural qualities and harmony of colour. The garments have been cut to emphasize the woman's body through curves, relating this back to natural elements such as rock formations that formed initial inspiration. The complex pleating was developed intuitively working on the stand, bring to you an edgy natural day to evening wear collection.

Charlene Edwards' designs are fresh, new and most importantly, universal. 'The vision was to create garments that could be worn by women of every nationality.' Now that dream is now a reality.
