Biblos Glasgow is a fashion brand that produces artisanal jewellery pieces that reflect creativity and should be worn as wearable art. Biblos from Greek scriptures means the books; jewellery designer Deborah Glasgow collects antique style notebooks to record jewellery concepts and inspirations. Deborah Glasgow loves hand making from her home studio in Stoke Newington and some pieces are plated in silver or gold in Hatton garden. The work is produced in base metals of bronze and copper, some jewellery is plated in 18 carat yellow gold or silver.
The new human strength collection featuring different faces as pendants is made to reflect the beauty in all people but black people do feature and includes the inner strength seen in their expressions. This new collection has the pieces made in bronze with some gold leaf on some necklaces and rings. Deborah is passionate about creating art through jewellery and the jewellery has been worn by British soul singer Lulu James and west end actress Nina Kristofferson. Some jewellery features large and bold semi-precious stones, and the designer also upcycles with vintage materials. The jewellery has been shown at Spitalfields market, in a concession at a fashion boutique in Stoke Newington and at the contemporary jewellery exhibition in Birmingham. The chief aim of Biblos Glasgow is to have a positive outlook, creativity in jewellery making and invention and to create for confident women or men.
