So we are not all top notch make-up artist and if you like me, you are always buying new make -up products and before you realise it, your make-up bag is over flowing. So let's make things easier, here are your 8 basic essential to always carry in your make-up bag.

Many women often buy products that;
• where sold to them by an over enthusiastic make-up counter assistant, they buy it and then do not use it
• because they were drawn in by the advertisement on television, because the model looked so good wearing it
We then end up not using any of these products because we do not know how to use correctly
It is time ladies, to go back to the basic, because everything else in our lives are already complicated the last thing we need is to complicate our make- up routine
Carrying these basic essentials with you can make things so much easier and will give you a flawless look for day and night.

1.Concealer

Concealer is used to hide your dark under eye circles and the spots on your face

2. Foundation

3. Neutral eye shadow

Blush

As foundation evens out your skin tone, blush ads colour, apply it to your cheeks. Blush comes in a variety of shades so choose the right shade for your skin tone.

Remember;
• Select a colour that will accent your facial features and will not make you look like a red check clown
• Bright red colours may not look that good if you have a very pale skin. Pale skin try a soft pink colour.
• So depending on your skin tone you will need a lighter or darker colour
When applying it, make a fish face then apply blush to the centre blending it along the cheekbone

Lipstick

We do not all like popping colours so try a nude colour to enhance your natural lip colour

Lipstick like blush adds colour to your face.

Go lighter

Beauty takes time but when the weather is steaming outside you do not want to layer on foundation. You want coverage that is light and weightless but give enough coverage

My star buy is Dior Skin Star foundation

dior star foundation

Brightening weightless long-wear foundation with SPF 30

This foundation felt like a second skin, it is so light and weightless I almost forgot that I had foundation on my skin. I like light coverage but for those that like a heavy coverage, you can build it up to give you the coverage you need.

My other favourite are;

Revlon's Nearly Naked, this foundation literally melts into your skin the moment you put it on and stay's on all day, you hardly feel it on your skin so light is it. It works in harmony with your skin to cover flaws and perfect tone and texture. Formulated with weightless pigments that melts right into the skin and creates a beautiful even complexion. Available in the lightest tone – Ivory to darkest tone Cappuccino

revlonnearlynaked

Revlon BB Cream

This is a lightweight Beauty Balm that combines skincare, makeup, and sunscreen all in one. It hydrates your skin just like a moisturizer, protects against the sun with SPF 30. Smooth's out the skin like a primer and covers like a foundation. Available in Light, light-medium and medium

revlon-photoready-bb-cream

I love the beautiful glow and colour this BB Cream gives and as the above foundations I hardly feel it on my skin.

Sleek CC Cream

As skin tends to be more oiler in warmer weather the Sleek CC cream is great for oily skin as it matte's out shine and corrects complexion and conceals imperfections. Available in Light, Fair, Medium and Dark

sleek cc cream

Do not forget your basic essentials;

1) Make sure that you match the right colour for your skin tone
2) Prepare your skin with a good moisturiser
3) Primer – for smooth application
4) Your tools – foundation brush, wedges or blending sponge

Permanent Eyeliner

As my eyes water in this forever changing English weather, my eyeliner never stays on for long. I decided that it was time to go permanent. Having seen pictures of the work that Daisy had done recently, I knew that she was the right lady for the job. I wanted permanent eyeliner on the top and bottom of my eyelids.

On entering the salon I was asked to fill out a medical form, which took longer than expected as my hands I must admit were shaking. I was nervous about the procedure. After taking my form Daisy instructed me to lie down on the bed. I was asked what look I was going for with the eyeliner and then the pre-num was applied to my eyes.

Daisy told me that it would feel a little uncomfortable at first but then I would not feel anything. They say to never trust a bold barber but I felt safe trusting a beautiful beautician; I instantly relaxed after Daisy had talked me through it. When the pre-num had been on for 15 minutes Daisy began.

I could hear the hum of the needle and the music that was playing in the background. All I felt was a slight scratching at first and then nothing. When I say nothing it did feel like a wet cotton bud sliding from side to side over my eyelids which was a nice feeling. Three layers were added to my eyes, these are called passes.

After the procedure my eyes felt sore but this was to be expected. To say I was pleased with the results would be an understatement. I had to keep my eyes dry for a week after and I was told that I could loose up to 50% of the colour but would go back for a top up 4 to 6 weeks later.

To anyone out there that wears eyeliner on a daily basis, stop what you're doing and get in contact with Daisy. You will look fantastic and save yourself so much time and money. It is only two hundred and fifty pounds for what I had done.Permenant eyeliner

Ruby’s Corner at Chez Titine

I love to paint my nails, its quite thearaputic. The only problem I have is that they do not last more than two days before they chip. So when I heard about gel nails at Ruby's corner (that were on offer) I had to get them. With gels your polish could last up to a month, a date with Prince Harry could not keep me away. I decided to treat myself and have my fingernails and toes done.

On arriving at Chez Titine the nail technician who was extremely friendly and made me feel as if I was catching up with an old friend sat me down. She then proceeded to buff my nails and file them to achieve the perfect shape. Buffing I am told is an important part as it helps the gel polish to grip to the nail.

The colour choice was limited but I have been told that more colours are on order. I picked black and red. After putting the gel polish on which was called Geleration, I had to place both my hands and toes under a UV lamp to allow them to dry. After this process, a coat of finish was added to my nails.

Within a few minutes my nails were dry. I have had nothing but compliments about how they look. I have had them on for a few weeks now and I'm secretly hoping that they will chip so I can have them re-done. I cannot wait to see what exciting new colours will be available.

A Fashionable Icon: Audrey Hepburn

On Sunday 4th May 2014, Audrey Hepburn would have turned 85 years old. A talented actress, keen humanitarian worker, mother and fashion icon who sadly is no longer here with us will always be remembered not only for her box office movies but for her chic, understated sense of style which has been copied by stylists, designers, artists and generally women the world over.

From her critically acclaimed portrayal of Holly Golightly in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' to her controversial role in 'My Fair Lady,' Hepburn's on-screen style has always mesmerised and delighted audiences and fashion lovers alike as her slender, athletic frame carried even the most tricky trends with ease and elegance.

With her petite, beautiful looks and chic sense of style, Hepburn differed from her other female contemporaries like the curvy Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren, yet offered women another approach to stylish dressing. Her black Capri pants, short pixie fringe and cats-eyes sunglasses, established that a new icon was born in she shape of Audrey Hepburn.

Throughout her career, Hepburn remained firm friends with respected fashion designer, Hubert de Givenchy who designed some of her most iconic gowns, most notably the gorgeous dress she wore while collecting her best actress Oscar for 'Roman Holiday' in 1953. Her little black dress she wore in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' has remained a style staple for women's wardrobes and an instant option for party dressing, while the graceful hats Hepburn wore in the famous Cecil Beaton photographs have been images associated with high fashionable glamour and beauty.

Throughout her later years, Hepburn stepped back from the Hollywood spotlight and dedicated her time and effort to charity work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, as she helped children in impoverished areas. Nevertheless, her impeccable sense of style and vast movie history has been an everlasting vision of the 60's and no doubt will continue on into the near future. Happy birthday to a fashion icon, a wonderful lady and a talent which we will never forget: Audrey Hepburn.

Natural Collection Body sprays.

Summer is approaching rapidly and here we are anxiously anticipating the arrival of the heat. We want tans! We want hot bodies! We want ice cream! We want Natural Collection body sprays

Honestly. We do.
2014-04-27_2053
Available in all Boots stores, these light, fresh body sprays easily replace heavy perfume fragrances during the summer heat. I'm personally not a fan of overbearing scents during these months but I also feel incomplete without a pleasant whiff of something!

They come in a small plastic bottle with a spritzer spray nozzle, making a great travel companion with no breakages of beautiful bottles. My favourite fragrances include Vanilla, Mango and Papaya and I am currently making my way through the Apple and Lime which smells mouth-wateringly fruity and natural, perfect for this time of year.

It leaves the skin feeling hydrated and revitalised and keeps you uplifted throughout your day unlike the aerosol sprays which simply irritate the skin. It leaves no sticky marks unlike many body sprays I have tried in the past and did I mention the price? At an amazing £2 it is definitely affordable.

To complement the body spray, the shower gels are also a good buy. I was bought the wild strawberry body scrub and it smells so lush and as a scrub it works well. Jumping out of the shower I feel rejuvenated and my skin has become a lot smoother. However, like the spray, the smell is only truly noticeable for an hour, maybe two at most which is disappointing but it is very simply solved by casually spritzing yourself from time to time.

One hundred percent recommendable for all ages within the family.
