Rise of the Art Deco

Beads, short hair and flapper dresses. The 1920's revolution has arrived, from modern twists to complete historically accurate costume dresses.
The 1920's marked a huge change not just in clothing but equality for women, the change of clothing reflected the change in society to a certain degree. The evolution from restricting, shaping corsets and dresses to flowing boyish flapper dresses created a huge impact on not just fashion but social equality today.

So it is wonderful to know that designers of today would like to remember this epic period of time by creating a new trend inspired by the women who stepped out of normality over 90 years ago!

River island is one of the many designers to recreate the flapper story in a slightly more modern way but still keeping that Art Deco feel, here are a few of my favourite pieces:

Pink embellished tunic dress £60.00

Cream embellished shorts £40.00

Black and gold clutch £25.00

There are some wonderful pieces on the market at the moment, whether you decide to go vintage or new. Have a look around for some Art Deco for your wardrobe.
