And now we are only a couple more weeks away until the 5th November (the same day as Bonfire Night, so you remember) when Balmain will officially come to H&M. Expect massive queues, die hard fans camping outside the Oxford Street store, website crashes and plenty of mayhem in what will surely be the biggest fashion collaboration of the year.
This week the first photos from the official look book were released on H&M’s website, to a lot of excitement. Creative director, Oliver Rousteing has really played to Balmain's strengths, such as his iconic glitzy mini dresses, boxy clean cut blazers, lace up booties, chunky gold jewellery and plenty of shoulder blades. Everything is very 80's, with large dangling earrings and sequinned jumpers as well as glamorous - the encrusted pink midi dress with a gold collar is sure to be a big sell out.
A lot of the pieces are extremely dressy - what else would you expect from Balmain - but there are some lovely loose satin trousers which could work as a great office to party piece and the jewellery can be easily accessorised into your day wardrobe. The chunky gold belts look amazing as do the black suede thigh high boots. For Balmain fans this is really the perfect opportunity to grab a piece of the brand, but for a much more adorable price. As modelled by Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn, this is a collection fit for a supermodel with so many incredibly beautiful pieces which could easily be mistaken for the real deal Balmain.
Make sure you put November 5 in your diaries.
