With the weather warming up, it is safe to say spring is finally here and summer is not far around the corner.

While Spring/Summer Fashion Weeks took place over a month ago, we can now start wearing spring-like clothing and ditch the dark layered clothing of the winter past. Fashion week trends can seem unattainable for the average spender, but there are ways to incorporate these styles without breaking the bank.

Floral

A classic Spring trend, floral was seen on many a Fashion Week cat walk this season. To name a few, Giambattista Vialli, Preen and Michael Kors were those continuing this Springtime tradition. To include this trend into your everyday attire, look for statement pieces. This Paper Dolls blazer is a gorgeous article that will pair well with nearly anything in your wardrobe while keeping the remaining winter chill off. A nice blouse, such as this River Island shirt, is a great way of adding a print to your outfit.

Yellow

As seen in the Prabal Gurung Spring 2016 collection, yellow is the power colour this season. Unfortunately, it can also be one of the hardest colors to pull off. Subtly include it into your style by introducing it into your accessories. A pair of sunglasses are essential for spring and summer, so find a subtle shade of yellow such as The Row 8 frames. The round shape and clear yellow acetate gives a retro-cool feel to any getup. This yellow handbag is another interesting way to add this colour to your style. The Tuscan leather bag makes from a great stand-out bag, and the shape is timeless.

Stripes

Every runway from Dior to Alexander Wang featured stripes. To add stripy chic to your springtime getups, try this striped midi skirt from Topshop. The mix of textures is also perfectly on trend this season and the length is also great for work. Another striped bottom, pair these contemporary pants with a basic white blouse and tan sandals for the perfect spring/summer brunch outfit.

Boyfriend

The boyfriend trend remains this season with oversized, boyish white shirts seen on Anthony Vaccerello, Fendy, Vera Wang and many other runways. Look for pieces with masculine details. These Courtshop jeans with leather suspenders are a modern take on the 1950s greaser look. Wear them with a white basic t-shirt for the ultimate T-Bird style. An oversized denim top is perfect to wear over a sun dress or colorful top while still following the boyfriend fashion movement.

Haute couture trends don’t need to cost haute couture prices. Without spending a fortune, you can feel as though you are walking down the runway while you’re walking down the street. It is important to buy pieces that will pair well with what you already have in your wardrobe rather than revamping your entire closet every season.
