Beijing born British designer Star Yixuan Hu raised in Tokyo, Wellington and London is the designer behind the label 'STAR HU'. Her distinct vision and focus aims to encapsulate power, sexiness, femininity, and her love of the hourglass shape. Star's design has a new elegance of the future with timeless appeal that creates an aesthetic silhouette. Evident across generations in ancient cultures the allure of the hourglass is especially flattering for the female form and can work for all kinds of body shapes.
Emerging from a first class education at Europe's leading fashion and design college - Istituto Marangoni in London (2005-2008). Star formed her design label 'STAR HU' in 2010 after the outstanding reception she received following her debut catwalk show at the iconic London Fashion and Textile Museum. The brand has since received enthusiastic national and international press coverage including UK Metro, GQ Awards and VOGUE China, just to name a few.
Star's S/S 2011 collection was quickly snapped up by well-respected UK concept store Wolf&Badger in May 2011. Wolf&Badger is a "unique lifestyle boutique showcasing and retailing the finest in independent fashion and design." Voted "Britain's Best Boutique" by British VOGUE Magazine.
On June 18th, 2011, STAR HU has become the talk of the town as the label's launch was heavily celebrated by celebrities; Alexandra Burke, Bella Freud, Jameela Jamil, Camilla Rutherford, Rox, and "Made In Chelsea" girls: Caggie Dunlop, Gabriella Ellis, and Cheska Hull all turned out especially to show their support to the talented new designer.
