It’s like a perfectly chilled mango-infused cocktail with a delicate zesty finish – a perfect summer dress is the one and only, the quintessence of summer.
In all fairness, few summer dresses can be called anything less than perfect, but the following list contains those that will surely be your best summer allies on your quest for an authentic summer style!
1. The Not-your-average Midi
Anything but neutral, don’t be fooled by this dress’ medium length. They can be as business-like as a tailor-made suit and as dance-friendly as your full-circle mini skirt. Coquettish when worn with a retro look in polka dots and other pinup-perfect details, or very poised when worn with a smart purse and meeting-friendly heels.
2. Flirt With Flirty
Slightly see-through and tantalizingly smooth, the silk and chiffon-laden dresses have deserved their flirty reputation for more than one good reason. If you’re a fan of the latest street-style craze, this fun dress will go gorgeously with a pair of glam sneakers and a leather jacket!
3. Pure And Simple White
The little black dress’ twin sister, and its crisp summer sibling for just about every endeavor, the white dress will be your go-to for quick meetings, picnics in the park, and a romantic dinner as well. It can be embellished with belts, jewelry and other accessories, and it will ensure you an effortless look to die for.
4. Go Maxi
Free-flowing and endlessly versatile, the maxi dress is a perfect choice for any body type. It’s comfortable enough to run errands in it while wearing your flats, yet it can be elegant enough if you elevate it with a pair of classy evening sandals.
5. The Timeless LBD
Despite its dark nature, the little black dress deserves as much attention during summer as it does in autumn and winter. Long, short, off-shoulder, frilled, glam or cotton, you name it - the black dress can pull it off. It’s your best bet for a quick style-up for a conference after which you plan to hit the beach – that’s how free-spirited this dress is!
6. Delicate Florals
Your inner little girl will be forever in love with the boho summer spirit, but your all grown-up ladylike essence will equally appreciate a floral-laden resort wear in your summer arsenal. They can be subtly abstract, or completely immersed in flowery patterns, but designer dresses in florals are the proof that spring is meant to last forever, just like the bohemian chic style.
7. Mini, Yet Maxi
Yes, the queen of sexy party outfits and beach-friendly combos, your mini dress might lack the material of its maxi counterpart, but it surely doesn’t lack it’s spirit! Feisty, fearless and fiery, ethnic-inspired gypsy dresses are as vivid as those exotic beach bars you’ll eagerly wear them to. Also, they will flatter your figure if you pair them with the right leather sandals.
8. Oversized For A Supreme Effect
If you still have your doubts about introducing this one to your wardrobe, then you haven’t tried it yet. The oversized trend is not exclusive to dresses, but they are its most prominent representation. Divinely comfortable and easy to match with pretty much anything, your day at work and your coffee date will love them, no questions asked.
9. Shirts go dress
Perhaps you’ll think it’s just your regular shirt having an identity crisis, but it’s so much more than that. Just like we’ve stolen those boyish watches and lumberjack combos, the shirt-dress is inspired by our fashionable male counterpart’s wardrobe. Button it up and pair with a classy belt, and you have yourself the ideal outfit for an office presentation.
10. Thin Strap Dresses
You want that “I just threw this on” look ideal for the beach, a cocktail party and a night out with your besties? This comfortable, easy-to-wear dress with thin straps will steal the thunder of all your other, fancier items. You needn’t stick to a plain-colored one, too, as you can go as playful as possible and express your personality through its vivid charm!

2016 saw a decrease in cosmetic surgery procedures, for the first time in a decade as 40% less people opted for invasive treatments, according to The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Coupled with that, it was reported that 7 million pounds was paid out in compensation for botched cosmetic surgery over the past decade. With less people opting to go under the knife, and with so many alternative, non-evasive enhancements on the market – we’ve rounded up the best.

Great Bean Bags
When you want to relax and take care of your mind you have to be comfortable. I relax by using my white beanbag slab from Great Bean Bags; I can only describe the experience as what I think floating on a cloud would be like. It is a great quality beanbag and I love it, so much so that my own children are not allowed to sit/lie on it. I may have to get them some for their birthdays. As the slab beanbag is for both indoors and out I can use it in the garden when we have that occasional nice British weather. It retails at £49.99 and looks amazing in any room that you chose to lounge in.
The next step to getting my mind where it needs to be is being healthy and cutting out alcohol in my diet. I will be replacing it with Adegio tea. I have tried Green Rooibos Bonita, White Peach, White Tropics and Ti Kuan Yin. My favourite is White Tropics when I drink it the smell takes me back to when I was in Cancun. There could not be a more relaxing tea. I was sent an Ingenuitea teapot that I use as they are loose tealeaves, the pot makes two cups and I have a cute see through glass mug to sip from. The teapot is £18 and the glass mug is only £7. This tea really is a treat in the morning and through out my stressful day it calms me down.
The artisan herbals all come directly from farmers in South Africa, Egypt and Guatemala. This shows when you make your tea and you taste just how fresh and delicious it is.
Blokes Beers & Burritos by Jo Blakeley
Last but never least, a good book helps to keep your mind in check. I finished this book in four weeks it would have taken me less time but the kids were off for the Summer holidays. As soon as I started it I did not want to put it down. It really spoke to me, I love a book that inspires you to be better and believe in yourself. It is exactly what every woman needs in her life.
The story is about a young woman's search for inner happiness while she is travelling in Central America. Whilst the book is funny and entertaining it teaches the reader life lessons, it is so easy to relate to the character. If you too want to stop repeating the same negative patterns in your life you must read this book. There are so many valuable life lessons that could turn your life around and give you peace of mind. The books retails at £9.99 from Amazon.
So here are are my initial views on ‘Pillow Talk’ – a lipstick I recently purchased from the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Selfridges, London.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF PILLOW TALK
So I had tried it on in store and was happy to note that it is a very wearable colour. There seems to be so much out there now that isn’t! Out of all of the colours I tried, this appeared to be the nicest one on me. It is a muted pink and the rose gold packaging is so pretty.
ON THE LIPS – PILLOW TALK
It is a matte revolution lipstick so is supposed to make lips look fuller without the need for lots of extra steps i.e. line with lipliner etc. The first thing I was pleased to note was that it wasn’t as matte as some can be. Matte Mac lipsticks I find can be very drying on the lips. This one was far from drying and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. I would say it wore well for around 6 hours but fades well and evenly. My lips did not feel like they need a scrub with lip scrub which is usually the case after wearing matte lipstick.
I feel was very muted and more brown-pink on my skintone; which is very fair. The lightest in any foundation.
CLAIMS – PILLOW TALK
It contains papaya and orchid which I believe gives it that soft texture. It also contains 3D glowing pigments. I can’t say I noticed this but I will continue to try this on and see how it fares over time. The lipstick is £24.00 which is standard for high-end lipsticks. They also threw in some CT samples which was nice of them! The staff are also willing to wipe the lipsticks for you to try and recommend products. Hoping to grab one of the eye palettes next.
Is slightly easier to put on as it has the angled bullet. Mine tend to get a slant to them eventually so I think this being the case does make it easier to get in to the corner of my lips.
What do you think?
Taking the photos of the precious moments during your wedding day is a given. However, why not make your wedding photo book a lot more interesting and special?
You can achieve this by focusing on detail shots from time to time. Mixing up the portraits and detail shots is a great way to create a truly memorable and stunning photo album that will remind you of every single aspect that made your wedding so amazing. Need some detail shot ideas? Check out the following suggestions then.
You can have so much fun when capturing your wedding shoes. After all, there are just so many ideas that you can try. Of course, you and your spouse-to-be can wear the shoes and take the detail shot as you keep your feet close. However, one new trend involves taking a shot of just the wedding shoes without you in them. The shoes can be turned to face each other, or they can face straight and have flowers in them. A really unique shot but also very cute and loveable.
Of course, one cannot talk about wedding photos without taking the time to snap a photo of the wedding dress. However, taking a great picture of the wedding gown when the bride’s not wearing it can be a bit tricky.
Therefore, many professionals in wedding photography may agree that hanging the gown a bit higher - top of the window frame or wardrobe - is a great idea for a wedding shot. Also, make sure that there are not too many flashy and intricate details in the background.
Taking detail shots of wedding rings is nothing new in the wedding photography. There are already plenty of ideas that you can find online. Also, you have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to taking detail shots of your wedding rings. You can place them together wherever you like, take detail shots of the rings as you hold hands, and even hang them on a branch or wind chime to make a stunning effect.
Picking the right flowers for your wedding bouquet is definitely one of the most interesting and relaxing tasks in your wedding prep. What’s more, a wedding bouquet plays an important role in the wedding ceremony. Therefore, it also deserves its own detail shot. Again, you can choose to place it somewhere nice and arrange the ribbons and lace around it to make the flowers pop even more. Or, If possible, you can ask your wedding photographer to snap a photo of the bouquet as it flies through the air at the end of the ceremony.
Mix Things Up
You can make truly interesting wedding detail shots even without separating the important details. Some of the most interesting photos that also make great postcards involve group shots of wedding shoes, a garter or a veil, wedding rings (on napkins, for example) and other jewellery pieces, a wedding invitation and some pretty flowers. Of course, you should do your best to arrange these details as effectively as possible.
Just like you organise your wedding day to celebrate the love that the two of you share, you can make your wedding shots as personal and unique as you want. Feel free to get creative with your detail shots as well, as these will definitely make the romantic wedding portraits even more striking.

Grey is not really a colour that makes you sit-up and take notice especially when it comes to A/W. But this A/W we see the checked grey taking a front row seat in this seasons fashion runway.

For the #bossbabe that is a bit more laidback but at the same time cool and chic. Pair your Check Jacket and trousers with a crisp white shirt and sneaky slogan t-shirt and bring it all together with millenial pink trainers. All available at George Asda

Holiday packing have never been easy. There’s so much to remember and so little space to bring it all. I always end up either over packing, or under packing - the balance is so difficult to find!
To help you out, here are some 2017 holiday essentials that will help you when it comes to looking beach ready every day…
Want to hear the secret to turning heads on holiday? Stand out poolside with a super sexy, striking women's scalloped swimsuits! Gently nodding to the 1950’s chic trend, scalloped swim styles are everywhere this season and it’s not hard to see why - they look FAB and are v.flattering.
A Blingy Watch
This summer is all about big, flashy watches. Forget trying to cram in a whole host of jewellery picks this year, and stick to one accessory - your watch. If you can’t find a ladies watch that’s quite flashy enough, try brands like Raymond Weil Watches or Daniel Wellington that will certain sparkle in the sunshine and make your wrist to talk of the resort!
A BIG Hat
With your summer hat this season, it really is go big or go home. Think Audrey Hepburn, with a huge floppy sun-hat that will not only have you looking glamourous, but also has the added benefits of :
1. Protecting you from damaging sun rays
2. Hiding any humidity-angered locks!
A BOHO Throw
Add an extra bit of sun protection with a lightweight boho inspired throw over this season. This summer-chic ponchos and coverups. Having sun-kissed skin is wonderful, but you need to protect yourself from burning and serious sun damage, so why not do it in a fashionable way?
This summer is all about minimalism, with 4 or 5 statement pieces all you need to make sure you stand out on the shores. Instead of cramming your case, shop smart and invest in some statement items that will keep you cool as a cucumber and ensure you steal the style show this summer...
