You already know you need to lose some extra pounds but cannot bring yourself to do it. If this sounds familiar to you, you will find your motivation in this blog.

Getting back in shape may seem hard at first but you will find how to stick to a workout routine and how exciting it is with the right motivation.

You give up after a few days or weeks every time you start working out. The process repeats itself, leaving you miserable and feeling like you will never be able to get in shape.
This is a vicious circle: you soon start to believe that working out is not for you. It affects your self-esteem, and your health continues to decline. You are not alone if you find it hard to stick to a workout routine. Here are ways to beat the odds and make working out a regular part of your life.

Motivation Tip #1: Invest In Workout Outfits You Will Look Forward To Wearing

You need all the motivation you can get when working out, including feeling good about what you are wearing. It will show if you do not feel comfortable or confident in your workout clothes. Buy some new gear you feel excellent in, making you want to show off your body.

Workout gear such as yoga pants, joggers, and leggings have become popular because they are both comfortable and stylish. You can find workout clothes in any style online for fairly cheap. There is no excuse not to find something you love. If you are specifically looking for joggers or sweatpants, a site like Fabletics is a good option as they have many styles of sweatpants for fairly affordable prices.

Motivation Tip #2: Set Realistic Goals

Setting goals is key to staying motivated but keep them simple and realistic. Do not aim to lose 30 pounds in a month or finish a marathon if you have never run before. Start small, and gradually increase your goals as you reach them. You will stay on track and not feel overwhelmed.

For instance, aim to walk 30 minutes a day for a week, then increase it to 45 minutes the following week. Once comfortable with that, start running for a minute or two, then add more time each week. Set goals that you know you can achieve, and build on them.

Motivation Tip #3: Find An Exercise Partner

Working out with someone is not only more fun, but you are also more likely to stick to it. It is much harder to make excuses when someone is counting on you. If you do not have a friend or family to work out with, sign up for a class at the gym, or join a sports team.

Additionally, find fitness groups on social media or start your own. It is a great way to connect with like-minded people and get support.

Motivation Tip #4: Keep A Workout Journal

Your journal does not have to be fancy; this is just a way to track your progress. Write down what you did during your workout, how you felt, and what you ate that day. Doing this helps you see how far you have come and where you need to improve. A journal will also hold you accountable, enabling you to stay on track.

Motivation Tip #5: Make Working Out Convenient

The more convenient working out is, the more likely you are to do it. If you drive an hour to the gym, you are less likely to go. Join a gym that is close to where you live or work. If you do not have time for the gym, you can do plenty of at-home workouts. YouTube is an excellent resource for a start. Alternatively, take advantage of your surroundings by walking, running, or cycling outdoors (internal link .

Motivation Tip #6: Take Rest Days

Do not push yourself too hard (push yourself too hard links to, or you will end up burnt out. Take one or two days off each week to rest. You can still be active on your days off by doing light stretching or taking a leisurely walk. Remember to listen to your body and take a break when needed.

Motivation Tip #7: Give Yourself Rewards

Set goals, and reward yourself when you reach them. For instance, if you run three times a week for four weeks, buy yourself a new pair of shoes. Choose something you want, so you have something to look forward to. Make sure your reward is healthy and does not sabotage your hard work. As you will realise, it gets easier with time. You will be so proud of yourself for sticking to the routine.

With these seven motivation tips to stick to a workout routine, you will find a good habit you will not regret. On your healthy journey, you will find more energy, more confidence in your body and capabilities, and maybe some gym friends. The next step – the most important – is getting started!
