If you have a very close look, you will see that each music genre has been associated with a distinctive style that sometimes made a whole decade of clothing. Top 10 Most Sung-about Brands

If you like scrolling down through 10 tens looking for fun facts and social trends, you will be surprised by Jewellerybox research. This musical analysis found out that Gucci wins in style being the most named fashion brand with a stellar 41,752 mentions in song lyrics, followed by Nike and Prada.

Gucci Is The Most Sung-about Brands

Gucci tops the list, and with over 615 million streams on Spotify, the most recent iconic song mentioning this brand is Gucci Gang by Lil Pump, making it his most popular number one song. Other popular songs mentioning the big brand include 'Gucci' by Bree Runway and 'Gucci Flips Flops' by Bhad Bhabie, which have over 202 million Spotify streams combined.

Spot These Fashion Labels In Songs

Two sports brands appear in the top 10: Nike and Adidas. While Adidas was founded many years before Nike, it is clear that the brand is much more lyric-worthy, with almost 27,000 Nike-related lyrics. Nike was named the most valuable fashion brand in 2020 with a huge worth of $36.8 billion.

Givenchy sits in 10th place with 3,768 song mentions. Its popularity within the R&B and hip-hop world has been evident, with the likes of Cardi B, Drake and Beyonce singing about the brand. It is, however, more sung about than the likes of Armani and Yves Saint Laurent.

Singing About Beauty And Blings

This research also reveals that:

• The most sung-about beauty brand is Dior with over 11,000 lyric mentions in songs as a beauty brand. While Dior is a multifaceted brand, they are well-known for everything beauty.
• The most sung-about fashion item is the simple ‘dress’. However, also in the top roster are heels with 19,513 mentions and bra with over 25,000 mentions.
• The most sung-about jewellery pieces: diamonds, rings, pearls and gold chains are just three of the most sung-about pieces. Diamond rings are mentioned in over 13,000 song lyrics and pearls are in second, with 12,539 song lyrics. The most sung-about jewellery brand is Cartier, with almost 7,000 lyric mentions.

Some brands are secret wishes, others are very openly sung about. This fun research is giving us many clues about what is trendy to own or desire and what made it globally.
