Get the summers must have look!
It may be hard to break away from your super shiny glosses and lipsticks but this summer it's all about bold confident lips with a matte finish. Channel and Yves Saint Laurent rocked this look on the catwalk and now it's your turn with the help of these easy steps...

1) Prep your lips. A Matte finish won't work well on dry, chapped lips so it's time to give them some much needed TLC. Invest in Clarins' Extra-firming Lip and Contour Gentle Exfoliator (£18.00 for 20ml). Its tiny micro crystals gently buffer away any dry skin and leave the lips hydrated and plumper for a better lipstick application.

2) Pick your shade! Leave the dark moody shades in winter and go for a peachy orange or fuchsia pink; if neither of these tickle your fancy then you can never go wrong with bright red. MAC lipsticks (£13.50) come in a range of textures including Matte and offer one of the best colour ranges out there. Try Candy Yum Yum if pink is your thing, Lady Danger if you can't resist red or there is So Chaud for those who love all things peachy. Use with a lip stick brush for precise application.

3) Next, to give the look a high fashion finish, dust a translucent powder over the whole lip. Not only does this give a beautifully delicate matte finish but makes your lipstick last longer. Try ELF'S translucent matte powder (£3.50).Sweep a sparing amount across the whole mouth...and viola! Your perfect matte pout is complete.
