Treat your skin to a thorough cleansing once a week.
If you can afford the time and money to splash out on a monthly facial, then lucky you, but I would hazard a guess that most of us probably cannot. The good news is you can have healthy, glowing skin that looks like it's been treated at an exclusive salon. To achieve a healthy, rosy complexion you need to treat your skin to a thorough cleansing session at least once a week.

Whether you are carrying out your weekly or monthly skincare routine, you need to begin the ritual by ridding the skin of everyday dirt and grime. If you have combination skin, then you are probably better off using a foaming cleanser that can be washed off with water. Try Kiehl's Gentle Foaming Face Wash £17.50 from John Lewis, which gently softens and restores. If you suffer from spots, use Benefit's You Clean Up Nice Facial Wash £16.50 from Boots nationwide or as it will root out impurities without damaging or dehydrating the skin. To rid the skin of any deeply embedded dirt you must exfoliate at least once a week. For regular sessions, massage in an exfoliator with fine particles so as to not to cause any irritations. The massaging technique will also help to stimulate the facial muscles. Sisley's Radiant Glow Express £37.00 from John Lewis with extracts of red clay it is perfect for your monthly facial, as it lifts out deep-rooted impurities that may linger, re-hydrates and leaves you with radiant looking skin.

You can apply a mask as part of your weekly routine in order to boost radiance if you wish, but it is not really necessary unless, of course, your skin is looking lifeless. Caudalie's Masque Purifiant £18.00 from Boots is great at softening and making the skin sparkle once more. After your mask has worked its magic, wipe it off with a warm cloth for the best long-term results.

Ideally your skin should feel soft and relaxed after its cleansing session. If it is tight or red-looking, you have probably used harsh products that are not suitable for your skin type or have been over-enthusiastic with the scrubbing.

To complete your skincare routine you will need to apply a moisturiser. Remember to massage it in gently so it can infiltrate deep below the epidermis, and also press gently around the sinus pressure points to help de-puff. It is also vital to massage moisturiser into your neck in uplifting movements if you want to avoid it looking rugged. Neal's Yard's Wild Rose Beauty Balm £20.00 from Neals Yard nationwide and L'Occitane's Precious Fluid £22.00 from or John Lewis nationwide are both excellent and will keep your skin fresh and hydrated looking for hours. Finally, dot an eye cream such as Yes To Carrots' Eye Can c Clearly Now Eye Contour Cream £21.50 from Debenhams and select Boots stores nationwide around the eye area to de-puff your eyes and to remove any grey circles.
