We know well how curly and Afro-textured hair needs special care to maintain its luscious beauty and health. Sophia London, a new haircare brand, answers this 'emergency hair call' with its official launch.

Sophia London combines scientific research and traditional African botanicals in a holistic approach to hair care. Born from personal experimentations during the pandemic, today's official launch signs the start of a healthier hair journey.

Exotic nuts, herbs, and wild fruit extracts meet in cruelty-free and vegan-friendly products that work to define, hydrate, and maintain natural textured hair, hassle-free. Sophia London uses natural and deeply hydrating ingredients like Moringa, Baobab and Argan oil to look after curly and afro hair of the whole family. Its plant-based haircare range cuts on harmful chemicals and it offers greener alternatives for both hair and the environment. Sophia London extensive hair collection cleanses, conditions and supports steady hair growth with soft buttery and oily treatments.

Deborah St. Louis (Fashions Finest director) says: 'I am very happy with Sophia London products. They arrived well packaged and beautifully presented. The products have nice subtle smells that are not overpowering. As my hair is in braids, I have not been able to try the shampoo and hair mask but I am looking forward to giving them a go on my next hair wash day. My favourite is definitely the crown oil, it's perfect for my natural hair and has a nice hint of peppermint coming through. The little applicator helps distribute it where it needs to be.'

Behind Sophia London

Behind this black-owned brand, there is Falone who listened to her necessities and decided to change something in her lifestyle. A good change made to last for her and many other people:
'I made the decision to embrace my natural hair a few years back after an unforgettable trip to a hairstylist who left my hair and scalp badly damaged combined with years of chemically processing and straightening my hair. I soon realised that this couldn’t be the way forward if I wanted my hair to be healthier, thicker, stronger, and natural’.

The founder had a passion for experimenting with different ingredients and creating homemade skin and haircare products for her. Friends and family loved her beauty solutions: the seeds of Sophia London were born.

I used a mixture of exotic oils and butter (which then became our hair growth oil and buttercream) to encourage growth and moisture. Within a couple of months, my hair and edges were back and I knew I had something worth sharing with others.'

Sophia London's journey began when our Falone became a mum to Sophia, the inspiration behind the name and the creation of Sophia London. Unable to create her own products due to the pressures of motherhood, Falone failed to find suitable products offering both quality and price, so she took matters into her own hands. Launched amid the pandemic in September 2020, Sophia London built its media presence and met great appreciation before moving toward its official debut today.

'We’re really excited to launch Sophia London this month, it’s something we’ve talked about for a while and it felt like the right time to give it a go! One of the biggest trends we’ve seen recently is the growth in veganism and we know that moving to plant-based ingredients can have such a positive impact on both the health of individuals and the planet’.
