London Fashion Film Festival 2016 (LFFF)
After my trip to Mexico City and attending the inaugural Mexico Fashion Film Festival earlier this year, I can’t wait to see the latest fashion films in London.
“Each year the London Fashion Film Festival host a variety of screenings centred on the subject of fashion and film, giving Londoners, film and fashion enthusiasts the chance to watch a number of iconic movies in the heart of the capital. As well as the main Festival, there will be a number of warm up events leading up to the Festival and the opportunity to take part in master classes and discussions with some of the industry’s most well-known names and faces."
- LFFF LFFF takes place on 14 September and you can see the official program here: lfff.co.uk/programme-and-tickets

New (and Old) Fashion Trends Leopard print is making its mark on the runways (again!) “Leopard print is a symbol of sensuality, confidence, and a liberated state of mind.” says Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci in the latest issue of Vogue magazine. “When a woman puts on a leopard-print coat, she is unapologetic in all that she stands for.”
Other trends to look forward to: plush velvet suits, pleated skirts, oversized coats & jackets, punk-inspired details, high-end streetwear, eclectic mishmash, colourful tights, bold embellishments, hats, and pretty in-pink vibe.

A Wearable Fitness Tracker Public School’s collaboration with Fitbit, the Silicon Valley brand, may be one of the coolest partnerships this season.
Launching in October, the Type III Paracord bracelet (inspired by military parachutes) allows users to customise the Fitbit Alta and track their fitness progress: calories burnt, activity levels, and even hours slept each night. The device also offers call and text alerts and promises to keep you motivated during (and in between) your workout routine. Unlike many tech gadgets on the market, this smart accessory has a genuine style and it may become super popular with both fashion and fitness crowd.
Have a fabulous Autumn! :)
‘Stina Smith’ is a new emerging Womenswear brand founded by fashion designer Christine Smith Egeland, who recently graduated with a First class BA honours degree in Fashion Design at Regent’s University London. She was born and raised in Stavanger, Norway and it was not until she received a sewing machine as a gift for her 20th birthday, that she realised her true passion lies in the designing and creation of clothing. Studying in London has opened her up to a world of cultural energy and diversity, leading her to take form as a fashion designer.
The London based label ‘Stina Smith’ stands for craftsmanship and innovation in technique and material, and empowers women to look and feel as exquisite as she aspires to be. “I envisioned Stina Smith as a brand that values and uncovers the qualities of the feminine; a unifier of vulnerability and power. Stina Smith unapologetically symbolizes what it is to be womanly, while depicting conceptual and thought provoking ideas”, she says. Renowned for daring silhouettes and feminine cuts, Stina Smith’s collections combine old, vintage grace with very clear and distinct avant-garde style that is often dark and romantic. Embellished with delicate details, the brand includes styles designed to highlight and accentuate a woman’s body, gently utilizing fabrics that exude a composed sophistication. Stina Smith innovates lifestyle into the brand, and is offering timeless, bespoke pieces.
Stina’s mind-set is often inspired by conceptual ideas, and focuses on depicting thought-provoking concepts in the hope of triggering deeper thinking within the viewer. Disregarding present-day restrictions, Stina touch upon important subjects in order to challenge the way one perceives the modern world.
