Want a chemical free way to colour your hair?
Want to colour your hair without subjecting you locks to all those harsh chemicals?
Well let me introduce you to Naturigin
Founded in 2004 by the Danish couple Stig and Mette NATURIGIN offers 19 permanent colour shades which are all 100% free from PTD, SLS, ammonia, resorcinol, and parabens. Containing a naturally derived formula, with a special blend of certified organic lemon and mandarin essential oils, along with 10 additional pure and gentle organic extracts and natural oils, which protect the hair during colouring to reveal shiny nourished locks!
This innovative Danish brand won the best Natural Beauty Product 2014-2015 in the US market and Naturigin is the only hair dye in the world to have an organic certification and is made from using 98.2% naturally derived ingredients, making it a vegan product.
I recently tried the product myself as I was concerned about the health of my hair and wanted to avoid using any chemicals and I must say the process was super simple and I was thrilled with the results.
If you’re ready to stop colouring with toxic chemicals, why not give NATURIGIN a try.
No Needles, No Effort.
Growing up I was never really a princess, make-up and nails kind of girl and even today I prefer flip flops to heels and only wear make up at weekends (mostly).
I’m quite loyal to my make-up and don’t tend to shake it up by using new brands. I’m 40 and I’ve never had surgery. I wouldn’t entertain messing about with my face for the fear of it going drastically wrong and I don’t much wish for people to see my lips enter a room before I do!
I was intrigued therefore when I was introduced to Transformulas Lip volume gel – beauty with surgery. It claimed to add volume to lips without surgery or needles just giving “volume, definition and less wrinkles”. The wrinkles bit caught my attention as I’m getting a bit older and don’t fancy the idea of a train track mouth so I thought I’d give this product a go.
Transformulas Lip Volume comes in a handy box containing a 10ml handbag sized silver canister of lip gel and a sachet of hydrating cream called ‘hydration gold’ (it is actually gold!). Note that the product claims to ‘enhance’ women’s lips so if you rush out to buy this, don’t expect to resemble Kim Kardashian over night! Whilst the results vary for everyone, it is suggested that you see results immediately.
Note: Contains macadamia nut oil.
Here’s what I found:
Having washed and moisturised my face using my normal products, I conditioned my lips using the hydrating gold. Once that had appeared to dry in, I applied the Lip Volume gel. I was expecting a stronger tingle than I got and was surprised that I didn’t see any results immediately. It looked and felt as though I had applied a layering of Vaseline or other lip gloss.
However, after about an hour, I returned to the mirror to check and I swear my bottom lip did look fuller. Was it all in my mind or did this product actually work?
I followed the instructions using the gel three times a day for ten days. Whilst my lips, when the gel is on, are smooth and do appear more defined, I’m not sure if they are more voluminous. The gel is extremely conditioning and as the size of the container is a bit bigger than a normal lip gloss, I did use it throughout the day as I normally would.
After a few days, I applied lip liner to create more definition (again, definition created by the liner or by the product?) as it suggests on the box and a coating of my usual gloss. Only then was I surprised to see that my lips did in fact look more luscious and plump!
For best results Transformulas Lip Volume should be used 3 times per day for 30 days and claims to ‘work with the body’. I’m not sure how it works with the body as no other information on this is provided. After the 30 day application, you can reduce to once a day or wear over lipstick as a conditioner.
My overall verdict on Transformulas Lip Volume is that it is super creamy and super conditioning. My lips felt. I’m not convinced that it volumised my lips by working with my body but once lip liner was applied, it did add to the volumised effect and that lasted for as long as my lipstick stayed on. On the box it says “use with a lip pencil to gain the look of natural glossy lips with the benefits of a lip balm”. This is exactly what the product I did, so: hydrating and conditioning is a thumbs up whilst volume is a thumbs down as I think this was created by the illusion of the lip liner, not by the product.

Since being a makeup artist I’ve often found that one of the most popular questions inspiring makeup artists often ask me is how do you do male grooming?? So I thought it was time to let everyone in on my male grooming process; and with the permission from the lovely Vangelis Polydorou semi-finalist from this year’s BBC The Voice I’m happy to show you how.
Almost 9/10 times with male grooming the key is to give him a healthy looking almost invisible makeup look. It’s important that the skin is visible to the eye and not a face full of makeup. Makeup on a man can look artificial if not done correctly.
Follow my steps on how I achieved perfect male grooming on Vangelis:
Skin prepping as with women’s makeup is my KEY element to perfect face makeup. The difference between male and female skin is that males skin contains a lot more oil. As a makeup artist you need to tame and control the oil. You do this by adding a product with water and vitamin B6.
I began with cleansing Vangelis’s gorgeous skin using Nude Skincare; Perfect Cleanse omega cleansing jelly to clean away all impurities. I love that this product is a natural formula and leaves the skin clean and fresh with a natural healthy glow – yes men should have a healthy looking glow too.
Secondly spray on Urban Decay’s B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray. The B6 vitamin in this product absorbs any unwanted oil found in male’s skin. You can also use this miracle bottle anytime throughout the day to refresh his skin or take away any excess oil that may shine through.
Moisturise; never miss this step. As long as you use the right moisturiser you will never add extra unwanted oil to the skin. I use Clarins Men Super Moisture Gel.
Concealer: unlike a woman we don’t want to brighten under the eyes with a concealer, so instead of using a highlighted liquid based concealer use a flat cream. I used the Mac Pro Conceal palette. Remembering how important it is to keep male’s makeup visible, dot on the cream based concealer where you see the deep undertones underneath the eye. It usually looks like a line from the inner corner of the eye stretching underneath. Pat your product in with your fingers. It’s important to leave the natural skin tone right under the eyelashes, so avoid placing concealer in that area. You can apply the concealer underneath the foundation or over as we’re not brightening the area just neutralising the tones.
Foundation: Don’t apply a thick coverage, this will look false. It’s important that you look at a man’s skin differently to a woman’s; you want to keep the different tones in the skin. The forehead may be darker to the cheeks, or the cheeks darker to the nose. It is very important that you see this and use different tones of foundation in the different areas. Applying one colour all over a man’s face will make him look very artificial, too even. When applying, avoid any stubble or facial hair, try applying with a beauty blender as opposed to a brush to give a shearer coverage. Opt for a tinted moisturiser or BB cream. I used Mac Prep + Prime BB Beauty Balm and Bare Minerals complexion rescue.
Powder: Apply using a big brush. You don’t want to apply a matte flat powder, the aim is to keep the skin healthy and visible. I used Mac blotting powder.
Bronzer: This really depends on the individual. But always remember to use a matte bronzer. Simply sweep over the face to warm up the skin or use as a contour to show off striking cheekbones.
Brows: Depending on the man and the brows, you can get away with a quick comb and set with a clear brow gel. On Vangelis I filled in his brows to make them look slightly darker as he was performing on stage so we wanted them to be visible. I used Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings, Gimme brow and brow setter.
Eyelashes: This really depends on the individual and what they like. It’s very common that a male doesn’t like his eyelashes coloured, if not, simply brush clear mascara through them. Again as Vangelis was performing on stage we opted for colour. I used Benefit Cosmetics They’re real tinted primer – a brown tinted eyelash primer.
Lips: Simple, a bit of balm. I used Dr.PawPaw Original balm.

I have been recently gifted with a few treats from cosyfeet.com. I received a Rose body lotion, Rose moisturising cream, Rose cleanser and Rose toner. I have always loved Rose scented bubble bath but to be honest that was the only product with Rose I had ever tried. I had been told me about these products a few months ago but unfortunately I had not got hold of any. I have just learned that my face and body have been missing out on being completely pampered with these Rose products.
Every morning and evening I have been using the Rose cleanser, toner and moisturising cream on my face and using the Rose body lotion everywhere else on my body once a day. It has made such a difference to my skin.
My face is clearer and feels so fresh throughout the day and my legs have never been so silky which is wonderful as it is now dress and skirt season. One of the best things about the body lotion and moisturising cream is that they easily rub into your skin and makes it feel instantly soft. The Rose scent is beautiful and strong but yet not overpowering like other scented beauty products that I have tried in the past.
Even though these Rose products provide you with all the luxury that I am sure you deserve, they all cost less than £50. If you would like your face and body to feel and look as fantastic as mine then get your products at www.cosyfeet.com.
