Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE 2015

Ever since I was young Afro Hair and Beauty LIVE was the place to see and be seen.

Having long since moved from Alexandrea Palace to it new home at the Business and Design centre in Islington the land scape of the event has some what changed, black women are now embarrassing their natural beauty, braids afros, twist outs dreads Yesss honey that’s what’s up1 not shade to the weave and relaxer wearers out there Afro Hair and Beauty LIVE 2015 is dedicated to the celebration of choice, whether you rock the natural, relaxed or a weaved look, you will find a product or service to suit your needs!

And indeed there was. The main stage had a jam-packed line-up of dancer’s singer’s demonstrations and catwalk shows to entertain the eager crowed and workshops took place throughout the day.

Venders included the usual suspects ORS, Cream of Nature, Mixed Roots Keracare and Beautiful Textures which included demonstrations from the hair whisperer herself Felicia Leatherwood.

WAHLS’ famous Battle of the Barbers competition was in full effect and saw barbers from across the country competing to be crowned KING BARBER and the Avant Garde competition displayed an array of eclectic creations.

Creative fashion catwalk show feature designers such as MAM MAW, ASO GLOBAL, PIECES BY KEKE, I-KOLLECTION, HONEY MALAOLU and if you looked closely you may have noticed some of the finalist from Top Model of Colour rocking the runway.

Now I don’t know about you but one of the main reasons I go to Afro Hair & Beauty Live is for the new products! I want to know what is hop and popping and I was not disappointed this year ORS featured two new ranges that were added to their portfolio Shealicious and Monoi Oil range and I was also told by the reps that they had made changes to the Curls unleased range.

I was also able to talk to the reps from new kids on the block CANTU which sold out of its Deep Conditioning Treatment Masque during The Natural Hair Week so you know I had to get my hands on it!

What To wear On a Night out In a Casino

If you are lucky enough to be going on a night out in a casino, you’ll want to make sure you look the part. That old comfy t-shirt was fine for when you were playing on Lucky Nugget, found at LuckyNuggetCasino.com, or on another online casino site but this simply won't work for the real thing. A visit to the casino makes for the perfect excuse to get glammed up, so why not have some fun and go all out.

These dresses are some favourites that are currently available in high-street shops. Starting from the top: the red satin dress from Coast is £160, taking centre stage is the full length lace dress from Paul Smith, £835, at the top right, the Natalie dress from Reiss is £230, the red silk dress is £160 from Karen Millen and the flare lace dress is £160 from House of Fraser.

And it isn't only the women who can have some fun with fashion. These suits show how men can look smart and suave but can also funky up their fashion with bright bold colours and modern tailoring, perfect for a night out in a casino.

First, the Paul Smith indigo suit is £970, in the middle we have two picks from Topman, the yellow skinny suit would certainly make you stand out from the crowd and is a bargain at just £109, the grey flannel suit, is also a bit of a bargain at £195 but is slightly more understated. Both are skinny cut, giving them a modern edge which is perfect for the younger gambler. And, the Calvert three-piece suit from Reiss, £785 combines smart sophistication with quirky detailing.

These picks are fantastic for a night out in a casino and are sure to have you looking the part and feeling confident when it comes to those casino games.
