L’Essayeur

L’Essayeur is a luxury avant-garde jewellery brand founded in London. The brand inherits the genes of science and art from its founders, Chengxi Wang and Jamie Lou, who respectively graduated from University of Oxford and University of the Arts London. When the spirit of scientific revolution meets bold artistic expression, L’Essayeur is more than a collection of precious metals and gems, but a wearable attitude of authenticity, rebellion and transformation.

To this purpose, each jewel is designed to tell stories of historical rebels. Our signature first collection centers on Galileo Galilei, who, in the face of imprisonment, unshakably defended his heliocentric theory and shook the center of the universe.

The brand name, L’Essayeur, was inspired by a book published in by Galileo Galilei in 1623.

The book is considered to be one of the pioneering works of the scientific method in Renaissance. Renovating the revolutionary spirit of Renaissance, L'Essayeur jewellery challenges traditions from the design process to the moment you embed our jewellery into who you are. Every piece of L’Essayeur jewellery is an experiment to disrupt the current fashion system. Instead of industrial mass production, Jamie and Chengxi traveled around Italy to seek prominent artisans for co-creation jewellery projects.

For example, L’Essayeur collaborates with contemporary sculptor Leonardo Bossio to challenge the borders between sculpture and jewellery. And cooperation with artist and goldsmith Antonella Sicoli is an experiment to restructure time. Each jewel is a unique piece that combines parts of antiques of different time and rearranges them in an innovative way.

At L’Essayeur, where disciplinary borders and orders of time are challenged, it’s impossible not to challenge status quo and who you are. Rebel and bring up reincarnation.

Nasra Mamoun

Nasra Mamoun is a jewellery designer who has been creating hand-made jewellery for over twenty years. After graduating with a BSc in Geology from Yarmouk University, Jordan, she moved to the UK and her career path took her away from Geology but she has retained a link with designing and making jewellery made primarily from stirling silver and semi-precious stones. She is married to Sudanese artist and photographer Issam Abdelhafiez.

Born in the Sudan to an artistic family, her father, the late Hussein Shariffe was an artist and film director and both he and her mother, Shama Al Siddig have hugely influenced her love and appreciation of colour and design. Her fascination with gem stones began during her student years and she started stringing beads together and gradually progressed to silversmithing. Her creations are unique jewellery pieces that are a pleasure to wear “.

YOVA Jewellery Collection

yovaJEWELLERY 1

There is about a handful of things that I cannot get enough of, and pretty jewellery is top of that list. So as a girl does on a quiet night, browsing the world wide web, I stumbled upon YOVA Jewellery and #lovedit !!

Owner and designer Joanne Michulka started Yova Jewellery because she was unable to find jewellery pieces that she liked.

I was thinking to myself maybe I would design and make my own jewellery, because I always loved jewellery

The collection is made of titanium, and includes bracelets, earrings and leather bracelets. All the pieces are anti-allergic and is unique and beautiful designed.

 Yova Amber Sun @ €80.00

Each piece is very special to her and she is very reluctant to pick her favourites, because we all know that we are not supposed to have a favourite child. But she admits, that, “When it comes to the bracelets, my first love is the Titanium bracelets with gemstones, especially the Amber gemstones. Her chosen earrings are the Anodized titanium earrings as they come in different colors and shapes, and are easy to wear with a simple blue jeans and crisp white shirt or a sleek sexy LBD.

JADAU by Kanwal Toor

November 2016 - TV Personality, Bollywood Actress, Entrepreneur and Social Activist Kanwal Toor launched her own JADAU jewellery range; JADAU by Kanwal Toor. Traditional JADAU techniques are used by local artisans in India to handcraft each individual piece. Kanwal Toor has combined her passion for fashion and jewellery with her Indian heritage to launch JADAU by Kanwal Toor in late 2016.

Jadau jewellery originated in Indo-Gangetic plains and has been practised in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat for many centuries and has famously been worn by the Indian royals. It is a complicated and intricate jewellery making technique that involves embedding precious and semi-precious stones, gems, crystals and beads in gold.

Each piece in the JADAU by Kanwal Toor collection has a unique journey and design process, from the initial concept to sketches and then final creation. Bespoke pieces can be made on request with each piece telling a unique story to its owner.

Kanwal Toor has been involved in the fashion industry through various channels, including studying in Central Saint Martins and working with brands such as Vogue and Mercedes. Beauty pageants have been a big part of her life, winning the renowned Femina Miss India contest in 2001 and going on to represent her country in Miss International Pageant.

Prices start at £200 for earrings ranging up to £3000 for larger statement necklaces.
