Dream Wedding: Eye Make Up & More!

The wedding day is the most notable day of our lives. While it is the most photographed event of your significant other and yourself, you also enjoy being close to your family and friends. Everyone has their eyes on you, you are the focal point of the event, what more could you want? Perfection? YES! Since this is a onetime white affair in the whole life, why not indulge ourselves into what exactly we desire?

Although some people opt for backyard weddings, in my perception, the wedding day should be unique, exclusive and thus, should be celebrated with the same enthusiasm.

Thanks to the expert wedding planners these days, it is easy to get a beautiful hall decorated with thematic embellishments, giveaways, flowers and what. The question is, are you focusing on yourself enough?

While the groom can appear flawless as soon as he gears up in a suit with the matching tie, is a white gown enough for you? No. An absolutely mesmerizing makeup is a must. With a vast range of makeup products available, you can go for any look you desire. FYI, smokey eye makeup is in!

With that said, let's look at some amazing smoky makeup tips that will complement your wedding dress, your auspicious occasion as well as your overall persona.

Soft Look: Daytime Wedding

Daytime Wedding

This gorgeous soft look is gaining a lot of attention. If you are planning to have a daytime wedding ceremony with a sun shining brightly at you, this look is your go to!
The soft makeup allows you to work on your jewelry and your hair without becoming too flashy. If you are not a makeup lover, this look is perfect for you.

The Elusive Cat Eyes

Cat Eyes

Cat eyes are everyone's favorite but will you wear this look at your wedding? Why not! By witnessing the picture, this gorgeous look is making the girl appear posh. By throwing in some black eye shadow, gel or winged eyeliner and fake lashes, you can bring the attention towards your eyes. While saying your vows, imagine how happy your groom will be when he looks deep into your eyes. Convinced enough?

The Black Beauty

The Black Beauty

Check out the breathtaking eye makeup this bride has opted for. This makeup is flawless, unique and bold. While there is no noticeable jewelry, the concentration diverts straight to the eyes.

To achieve this makeup goal, ask your beautician to darken your eyes in a smoky grey fashion while leaving your lips and cheeks nude. The hairstyle can either be simple curls, a gorgeous bun or a bit of both.

It is your big day, choose what pleases your eyes.

Glow like a Star

Glow like a Star

It is but natural to glow on your wedding day due to the excitement and rush of emotions to the peak. What good is the makeup which doesn’t do justice to the natural glow?
Observe the beautiful illuminating makeup that brings out the glow from within in this bride. The NYX eye shades do justice to her skin tone while the MAC gel eyeliner and the amazing mascara are the cherries on top.

If your skin tone is on the darker side, pick this makeup look and drop some jaws while you are walking towards the aisle!

Bold and Beautiful

Bold and Beautiful

If you are a bold career oriented woman, this wedding day look is made for you! I'm sure you don’t get to wear too much makeup to work, hence choose a unique ravishing look for your special day.
The dark smoky eyes and luscious red lips are the perfect models like the combo you must go for.

The bride wears a glowing embellished tiara which complements the whole ice princess fashionable look.

Reds are in!

Reds are in

If you are not an eye makeup fan and want something basic, why leave the lips plain too? Get your hands on the best lipstick range from Maybelline with various shades and textures. I'd suggest the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Color range for luscious looking lips without worrying about smudging, creasing or reapplication.

Go for the red lips, gain all the attention and pose away for those lovely pictures.

Glam it up!

Glam it up

Glam up your wedding look by standing out from the crowd. If you have worn makeup all your life through your high school, prom, gtg's with your girlfriends and everywhere else, let your 'wedding day look' be diverse. Spice it up by stepping away from the norm by choosing a mélange of black and white dress and a feathery shrug. Get yourself some diamonds for the neck and ears, make a partial messy bun with hair accessories and you will be good to go! This all may seem crazy, but imagine the beautiful pictures you will have by your side forever!

Now that we have shown you the top trending smoky makeup looks for your wedding day, why not show you how the smoky makeup is done?

• Blending is the key.
• Apply in smooth strokes. Curl the lashes and Voila!
• White smoky eyes need practice. Application and blending, both matter.
• Cat eyes require precision, patience and the right choice of color combos.

Although you have to run through of all the trendy makeup styles and also learnt how to create unique smoky eyes, have you thought of the factors that can probably ruin your makeup look on the stage? Take a look below.

Tips and Tricks to Save your Day!

All brides make a few mistakes which can ultimately result in a disaster. From hair falling apart crisis to the eyeliner being smudged, all these factors can be eliminated if you lay your eyes on the below-mentioned tips for your oh-so-special day.

• Water Proof is the best
Choose a Mascara which is waterproof and won't create a black tear in case you decide to cry while hearing the vows!

• Contouring
Remember to contour your eyes, your cheeks, the nose and the jaw line. Defining a sleek shape will give you the beauty edge when being photographed.

• No Surprises!
Use the makeup brands you are comfortable with. New brands might not suit your skin and may result in red spots, red eyes or pimples.

• Zit is normal!
All brides fear zits. In case yours just popped out, don’t give it more germs to thrive on by poking it once in a while. Let it be, ice it up and let your makeup artist do her magic.

• Natural lighting is the key
Go for a makeover near the window so that you can use the natural light. This will help you see fine lines, ease in the blending techniques and will help you not become too flashy. The natural light will also allow the pictures to come out perfect, glossy and illuminating.

• Save the Dress
Remember to apply your foundation and other products first and then follow up the wearing of the gown. In case you do the vice versa, the white dress can get stained with makeup.

• Picture Perfect
Go for the bright colored lip colors these days. While your dress is also white, the nude shades can appear washed out in the photos. While everyone will see a pretty you, the pictures on Facebook will suggest otherwise!

Makeup must haves

Make up Must haves

Our make-up bags, like our wardrobes are often over-flowing with every imaginable product on the market. Because as soon as we enter a shop, it is like walking into a candy store, and you know what they say about kids in a candy store, you simply need to have it all.

After all we are women and make-up and fashion is our addiction, so yes we want and of course need all the latest must have make -up products.

So to fuel your addiction here is the latest Make-Up must haves!!

With any addiction there is a down side, you love make -up, you love wearing it, but hate the hassle of removing it. Well here is a simple but yet brilliant solution for you. The Makeup Eraser, a microfiber cloth that not only removes all make -up but, wait for it, also exfoliates!

What more can you ask for in a pretty pink microfiber cloth.

After having tried it, I believe that this is Simply a mastermind creation, as it removed all my make-up even the stubborn bits. No make -up remover required as all I needed was the cloth and water and viola I was left with clean glowing skin.

I am sure that like me you use up a whole bottle of make-up remover in one month and need to buy a new bottle. But with the Makeup Eraser you will save money as you can use it for over a 1000 washes which should last you longer than one month. It is also a great, make-up must have, for sensitive skin beauty junkies, in the heat and has no fragrance or alcohol ingredients that is harmful to sensitive skin.

Because all you need is the microfiber cloth and water. Simply Genius!!!

TIP

Must have number 3 is defiantly a product to have, because we spend hours on achieving the perfect brow. So if you have had tweezer after tweezer to achieve the perfect brows. You will love, Rubis Tweezers a favourite of make-up artist like Bobbi Brown, who described it as “the Ferrari of tweezers”.

Rubis tweezers

Rubis tweezers are a Swiss Brand. So you can be sure that it is design at its finest. Each tweezer is hand crafted with perfect tips to remove even the shortest of hair. It is made of resilient, antacid stainless steel and can be sterilized in acid or boiling water.

I agree with Bobbi Brown, I loved the tweezers. It is a great tweezer, it is nice and sharp. Easy to use and grabbed even my shorter hair strands, which are usually a pain to pluck. Best of all it came in my favorite color RED! After using it I got rid of all my other tweezers for the best in Swiss Design.

Get yours at the following retailers - Harvey Nichols stores, Fenwick stores, www.lookfantastic.com and www.rubis.co.uk

If your make-up is on point and you are looking good, you got to smell fabulous. So the last must have is something, that comes in the hottest color on the fashion scene, Rose Gold.

Monsoon Rose Gold

Monsoon Rose Gold is an Eau De Perfume, for the chic sophisticated lady. The perfume itself is rose gold and comes in a cute tear drop shaped bottle with a rose tinted cap and lid and is packaged in a white box with rose gold details.

Featuring top notes of sparkling lemon, soft fruit and ozonic, for a clean, fresh scent combined with rose, tuberose neroli and cyclamen, giving the fragrance a deeper, more floral scent. With base notes of Eastern woods, vanilla, mosses, musk and balsamic amber, leaving you with a soft, musky and powdery scent.

I love the packaging, as it gave off a chic feel, and the bonus was obviously, that the perfume itself was Rose Gold. And I love musky fragrances because it is so sensual. Get The Charley Monroe Look

The talented designer and our very own Britain’s Top Designer winner Helen Woollams CEO of fashion house ‘Hellavagirl’ dressed previous X Factor Contestant Charley Monroe last weekend for The Essex Entertainment Awards.

For the Essex awards we opted for one her Helen’s signature pieces from her A/W16 collection The Birds. Helen then designed and made a bespoke shoulder piece to attach to the dress.

I decided to create a makeup look that was quite glam but remembering that it also needed to be quirky to match Charley’s style. So after prepping Charley’s skin with my favourite skincare products from Nude, Clarins and Dr.Paw Paw I created the perfect look.

I went for flawless skin with a strong bronze contour and highlight, defined brows, a gold sparkling glitter eye over a smoky green and brown winged base and a black eyeliner flick as long as the winged out eye makeup. This added that quirkiness in the look. I then added lots of thickening mascara and a slightly winged pair of false lashes.

I finished the look with the most beautiful shade of red lipstick and pencil from the new GWEN STEFANI range by Urban Decay.

I did a slight wave in her hair pinned to one side and applied long stiletto nails painted in the same shade of red as her lipstick and added gold leaf to match some of the embellishments in the shoulder piece that Helen had made.

Charley looked incredible and guess what? She WON!

How to get that perfect Halloween look

Your make-up on Halloween is just as essential as your outfit. As an added extra this Halloween I have decided to change the colour of my eyes for the night. This is to create the perfect spooky look. To change the colour of my dark brown eyes I used contact lenses from VisionDirect.co.uk. The colours I had to choose from were amethyst, turquoise and gemstone green.

contactsIMG 4338

I picked amethyst as purple is my favourite colour and amethyst is quite close to that. They looked amazing when I put them in, as my eyes are dark brown the contacts did not look that bright on top of my own eyes but the subtle amethyst colour on top of them gave them a Halloween glow. I was now ready to sort out my Halloween make-up. First I had to choose what I would go as, as I had been invited to few Halloween parties and my aim was to stand out and look my best.

After an hour of racking my brain and searching the Internet for ideas I decided on a vampy look with a spiders web to complement it. Who wouldn’t love a vampy look with a creepy spiders web? To achieve the right look I went to Chez Titine salon in Leamington Spa. Jane who is a qualified make-up artist always does an excellent job and I knew if I attempted the look myself things could go terribly wrong. With Jane’s help I was on the way to a Halloween look I could be proud of.

1. Jane started the look by dabbing on white face paint to all areas of my face (this was done using a cloth).
2. Black eye shadow was then brushed onto my forehead, cheekbones and chin.
3. Using a black eye pencil Jane filled in my eyebrows so they would stand out.
4. Jane then concentrated on my eyes using a black eye pencil to draw on my top and bottom eyelids and then finally flicking the pencil slightly at the end for a winged effect.
5. Black eye shadow was then added to the eyeliner to make my eyes pop. This was added to both the top and bottom of my eyelids.
6. Using black eyeliner Jane proceeded to draw on the spider web above and below my eye. Jane referred to a picture as she did this.
7. My lips then had black lip liner drawn around them.
8. Red lip liner was then used to draw inside of the black lip liner.
9. The last step was the colouring in of my lips with red lipstick.

In the picture posted above you can see me without the contacts, then with the contacts and white face paint and then the completed look.

Use Eye Of Horus To Discover The Goddess In You

eye of horus pic 1.docx

My eyes have been looking fabulous this week, as I have been reviewing Eye of Horus products. It is an Australian colour cosmetics brand that promises to bring out your inner Goddess. Eye of Horus products are not tested on animals they contain natural ingredients and are paraben free. All products either come in gold or black stylish packaging. I was more than pleased with each product that I tested.

• Dynasty brow define-this is a thin make-up pen used for filling in your brows and giving you perfect arches as an end result. (My colour was medium/dark). One of the ingredients in Castor oil, which enhances your brows condition and growth.

• Babylon brown liquid define-this glides smoothly onto your eyes to give a loud but perfect line. It is also smudge proof and will stay on all day.
• Goddess smoky eye pencil-this was my favourite, I used this to achieve black smoky eyes. I used the pencil part to draw on the lines and then used the other end to smudge, ending up with perfect smoky eyes.
• Eye of Horus Goddess mascara-ingredients include Moringa oil that was found in King Tuts tomb. This make-up is based on ancient Egyptian formulas and is said to have beautifying powers by the Gods. It made my lashes longer, thicker and they did not smudge or clump together.
• Goddess smudge proof eye pencil-easily glides on, looks fantastic and does not smudge.

In my ultimate Goddess promotional pack I also received a custom cosmetic sharpener and a free promotional gift. Eye of Horus products help my eyes make a statement and it really has revealed my inner Goddess.
