New Year Confidence
Each- and- every new year we wow to do better and take on new challenges, promising ourselves that this year we are going to do better than the year before. But come mid-year, and we start to take stock of all our set out intentions to move forward and out of our comfort zones. We realise that we have not achieved half of it. So, the question remains, how do we go about achieving our set out intentions? Personally, I believe that the key to that is Confidence.
Read on to discover my personal tips on achieving New Year Confidence.
Take care of yourself
It is amazing how much of a difference a new hair colour or smelling beautiful and glowing skin can have on your self-confidence. Looking good and feeling great is a fantastic boost to your self-image. So, take the time to take care of yourself indulge in those small things like a new lipstick or trying a new eye-make look. It will turn your mood around from feeling glum and grey to bright and sparkling.
Dress nicely
You cannot look all pretty and not be dressed nicely, if you dress nicely, you’ll feel good about yourself. A nice dress or a pants suits will make you feel successful, presentable and ready to tackle whatever the day hold and brings. Invest in good quality items and build your capsule wardrobe with pieces that will make you feel confident when going for that all important meeting or interview.
Re-brand your self-image
Our mental picture of who and what we are, so often determines our confidence. If we feel good or negative about ourselves, we reflect that outwards. In the way, we carry ourselves and how we allow others to interact with us. Let 2017 be the year where you make the choice to re-brand your self-image. Make small changes, like having a mantra, my favourite is, I AM BEAUTIFUL, I AM WORTHY, I AM CONFIDENT, I AM CAPABLE, I AM NOT LESS THEN OR BETTER THEN THOSE AROUND ME, repeat this every morning in front of the mirror and with time you will start to carry yourself in that manner and not allow yourself and others to make you feel small and worthless. Remember, who you want to be and how others perceive you, is your choice. So, choose to show you true worth.
Think positive
This is an important part of re-branding your self- image and building self-confidence. Positive thinking can open- up new opportunities. It is all about the energy you bring into a situation, so if your energy is positive you will be more open to feel good about yourself and to become the best version of yourself.
Smile
A smile lights up your face and will instantly make you feel better and it will help you to be kinder to yourself and those around you. A small but beautiful thing that can have a wonderful chain reaction. Your smile is one of your best assets so use it well this new year.
Stand tall
Good posture will make you feel taller and more confident. If you stand tall and walk with confidence into any room people around you will take notice. Stand straight and pull your shoulders back and stand tall and walk talk and be proud and have confident in yourself, your beauty and that gorgeous smile.
Have a wonderful 2017 and may you achieve at least one of your set out intentions for this new year.
How To make The most Of Your Turtleneck This Season
The turtleneck is quickly becoming this season’s most valuable player and pairing it with your favourite dress is sure to make you a fashion VIP.
Now why a turtleneck; well for a few good reasons: 1) You can forget your scarf at home and not worry about your neck being cold; 2) it is a nifty base layer as it can be dressed up or down depending on your mood of the day; and 3 the bonus reason, it works well with every neckline from a deep plunging V to crew neckline.
Here is just some of my favourite looks on how you can rock a turtleneck knit with just about any dress in your wardrobe.
Roll Neck Turtleneck And The Slip Dress
Keep it boudoir silky with a smooth pink roll neck turtleneck and an alluring striped waist trimming lace-trimmed slip dress. Add to it a pair of sexy gold ankle boots and a classy clutch and you have a raunchy but edgy #ootd.

Shop Minku
I met Kunmi, founder and designer of MINKU, at a local handmade designer market in Barcelona. It was by far my most interesting encounter at the market that day; a designer who uses the rich and unique attributes of the Nigerian culture, and infuses it into handmade and practical goods. Each Minku item is covered in handmade love and personalised features. It seems that no Minku item is designed exactly the same way. A Minku bag is definitely a lifetime and unique wardrobe piece! Enjoy some of my favourite pieces....

How to Style Your Clothes and Bring It to Life
Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered how your style became so plain and lifeless? We’ve all watched celebrities and became puzzled with their everyday polished looks that always seem to be on the point and head-turning.
When it comes to making excellent fashion choices, celebrities are usually guided by styling experts.
However, this doesn’t mean you’re doomed to a boring look that makes you blend into the crowd: you don’t need a personal stylist, just a bit of insight on how to make your outfit more eye-catching. Here’s how you can do that.
Rediscover The Clothes You Already Have
Let’s face it: you don’t even know what’s going on inside your closet. Many women have overcrowded wardrobes while they actually wear about 20% of what they own. We tend to wear certain items frequently while we completely ignore or forget other fabulous pieces misplaced in the back of the closet.
Make a selection and donate all the pieces that don’t fit you. Make space for new basic pieces that will function as a solid base for combining many different looks.
Essential Pieces To Look For
There are many celebrities that mastered the art of the minimalistic look and there are some great lessons hidden behind it. If you take a minute to study it, you could clearly see how important it is to have essential basic pieces that can be incorporated into different types of looks. This includes a LBD, a jacket, business pants, a pair of jeans, and a couple of blouses and shirts.
In addition to these, it’s good to have at least one full-length dress: maxi dresses always give you a dash of sophistication and elegance, no matter if they’re paired with heels or flats. With street style pushing the limits of fashion even further, a simple slip-on dress could be both a part of the formal look and a casual one: pair it with flats and a leather backpack, style a messy bun and add oversized Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses – and you’ll end up with a sexy-casual look.
Wear a pair of heels and a clutch purse, style your hair in Old Hollywood waves and you’ll become the queen of glamour.
Be Creative And Reinvent
You know the saying: it’s not what you wear – it’s how you wear it. Let’s say you own an oversized boyfriend shirt. You can style it in many different ways: tuck it in your business pants for an office-appropriate look and add a thin belt. Roll up the cuffs and add a bracelet or a nice watch. With leggings, your shirt gets transformed into a casual dress: wear a belt to enhance your waistline and unbutton a couple of buttons for a sexy vibe. Pair it with ankle boots and you’re done!
For a more feminine look, pair the shirt with an A-line skirt: roll up the sleeves to your elbows, add a string necklace – and voila!
Fashion has evolved, which means every piece you own can become a part of a differently styled outfit. Defining your personal style is a fun journey and you should be creative and playful while figuring out how to express your personality through your looks.
Upgrade Your Look With Accessories
Accessories have a transformative power and can bring your outfit from plain to eye-catching smart casual or even add a bit of formal to it. Choosing the right kind of jewelry is a great starting point, but think beyond just that: scarves, barrettes, belts, watches, even glasses can all help in bringing your outfit to life.
Pick subtle thin necklaces for a sophisticated look, or opt for heavy-detailed oversized ones to make a statement when you’re wearing a duo-chromatic outfit or an all-black combo. This type of jewelry will break the dullness of your look while providing you with just the right amount of chic.
With these simple steps, you can give your clothes a much-needed fashion CPR! The trick lies in combining the right pieces together while minding the materials and colors, as well as incorporating the right kind of accessories.

Make A Fashionable Statement
If there is anything that I have learned from the world of Fashion, then it is, that it is all about making a statement, we create, design, decorate and dress, too express who and what we are. And what I love is that, we can bring that statement into our living spaces. Because just as we dress to express who and what we are, so we decorate our homes to reflect our personal style.
What better way to dress our living space, be it our bedroom, living room or home office, then to start with our walls. Gallery walls are after all the fashionable décor accessory to be seen in all chic homes.
