Urban Decay’s new Disney range

I’m so so excited about the new Urban Decay collaboration with Disney launching on 5th May. Urban Decay have done numerous collaborations with Disney over the years but this is set to be their best.

Teaming up with Disney’s new film ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ in cinemas May 27th UD bring you a limited edition, pop-up palette with tribute to their favourite characters from the film along with 5 limited edition shades of lipstick to match.

Using the visually stunning film as their inspiration, UD have created 20 new shades of eyeshadows and based them on their 5 favourite characters Alice, Mad Hatter, Mirana - The White Queen, Iracebeth - The Red Queen and Time - a peculiar creature who is part human, part clock.

The eyeshadow palette is arranged into 5 columns by their 5 favourite characters. Simply use the shades in the columns to steal the iconic character looks or mix them up to create countless others.

Each eyeshadow has been made using UD’s ‘Pigment infusion System’ a blend of ingredients that gives every shade it’s velvety texture, rich in colour with serious staying power and bendability. So whether it be the softer shades inspired by Alice’s look in the film or the bold bright shades seen on The Mad Hatter, each eyeshadow will give you the perfect application.

Team your eye makeup looks with one of the 5 favourite character lipsticks and you will have everything you need to recreate your favourite look from the film.

And what’s more the packaging of the products feature a colourful, kaleidoscopic pattern inspired from the film, flowers, butterfly’s and several quotes from the film make these beautiful new products look pretty in anyone’s makeup bag.

Get The Charley Monroe Look

The talented designer and our very own Britain’s Top Designer winner Helen Woollams CEO of fashion house ‘Hellavagirl’ dressed previous X Factor Contestant Charley Monroe last weekend for The Essex Entertainment Awards.

For the Essex awards we opted for one her Helen’s signature pieces from her A/W16 collection The Birds. Helen then designed and made a bespoke shoulder piece to attach to the dress.

I decided to create a makeup look that was quite glam but remembering that it also needed to be quirky to match Charley’s style. So after prepping Charley’s skin with my favourite skincare products from Nude, Clarins and Dr.Paw Paw I created the perfect look.

I went for flawless skin with a strong bronze contour and highlight, defined brows, a gold sparkling glitter eye over a smoky green and brown winged base and a black eyeliner flick as long as the winged out eye makeup. This added that quirkiness in the look. I then added lots of thickening mascara and a slightly winged pair of false lashes.

I finished the look with the most beautiful shade of red lipstick and pencil from the new GWEN STEFANI range by Urban Decay.

I did a slight wave in her hair pinned to one side and applied long stiletto nails painted in the same shade of red as her lipstick and added gold leaf to match some of the embellishments in the shoulder piece that Helen had made.

Charley looked incredible and guess what? She WON!

My new Perfect Cleanse

It's official I have found my perfect cleanser.. Oh wait, it's meant to be for my professional kit to use on my clients before makeup application.. Hmmm I'll get another.

Last night I tested the Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly by Nude Skincare for the very first time, and I'm so glad I did. I really tested this product to the max, having a full face of makeup on with gel eyeliner and waterproof mascara this product needed to be pretty special to remove all that...

I squeezed the tiniest amount out of the light mauve tube onto my fingertips, a gel type jelly and spread onto my fingertips on my right hand.. I could see this tiniest amount of product suddenly expanding into what I can describe as a silky gel serum oil. I started to massage this jelly formula into my skin then BAM.. I added water to my face as you do and this jelly/serum/oil texture turned into a soft creamy milk..this tiniest amount of product covered my whole face and eyes and I felt the heavy makeup underneath melting away. I must of spent a good 3 minutes massaging my face because the product just felt so damn good on my skin!

I rinsed away with warm water and NOT to my shock all my heavy makeup had been removed. My skin was clear and felt so smooth, it didn't feel tight just soft and fresh. I quickly added some moisturiser and headed straight onto the Internet to do some research on this product.

What I found out was just as amazing...

My Perfect cleanse is rooted in so much nutrition for the skin. Containing sunflower oil, which is rich in omegas 6 & 9 it nourishes and protects the skin while gently removing dirt & impurities while the Great Burdock root Extract moisturisers the dry areas and purifies the oily areas. There's even Annato seed extract added in to strengthen and shield the skin from daily stressors.

There's so much more in this product that is fabulous for our skin as well as not containing any harmful substances.

We need good nutrients for our body why not have it for our skin also!!

The Magic of Dr. PAW PAW

12278730 990084304381429 6528914354502416628 n result

DR. PAW PAW is a product that I cannot live without in my pro kit and also my handbag. My skin becomes dry, dehydrated and tired with cracked lips very easily due to the lack of sleep and long working days. Luckily for me my long working days see me playing with makeup and beauty products and whilst doing so I found this amazing product.

Having first used it in Marbella borrowed from a fellow makeup artist working alongside me, I used the original balm on the eyelids to create a glossy eye. The normal go to glosses and balms couldn’t cope with the heat and just melted away. Dr Paw Paw saved my makeup look that day.

When arriving back in the UK I soon purchased the original balm and now I use it not only on myself everyday but also on all my models and clients.

I was soon quick to discover that this magic balm was in fact like magic. The ingredients are natural with the main one being Pawpaw, followed by Olive oil and Aloe Vera Oil, blended together they create a miracle soothing and healing balm.

I use the balm on my lips daily and re apply as needed throughout the day. The balm leaves them soft and well moisturised without any stickiness or cracking from the product. Once a week I also coat my face with a film of the original balm in the evening. I let the balm soak into my skin just as you would a moisturiser. The benefits show the following morning when I wake up with soft glowing skin.

As well as using the balm on myself, all my wonderful clients also benefit. Before any makeup application I prep the skin and lips. I always use Dr Paw Paw to prep the lips. This ensures the perfect soft lips required before I go on to apply lip colour. I also use the original balm to set eyebrows. Apply a small dot of product onto a clean mascara wand or eyebrow comb and simply stroke the product through the brows for perfect in place brows all day.

A new technique that I tried last week and absolutely loved was using the pink peach tinted balm as a blusher. I’m a big fan of cream based products over powder and was rather excited to see the fantastic results of the balm. So not only did my client have a pop of beautiful colour on her cheeks but I also knew that her skin was benefiting from the added moisture that Dr Paw Paw balms give.

2015 Beauty Highlights

I would like to start the new year by sharing one of my most enjoyable highlights from last year.....Enjoy and don't forget to pop back next week to read all about my favourite beauty products entering 2016 with me.

In July 2015 I had the pleasure to travel to Florence Italy, to provide makeup and hair for an editorial shoot.

The concept of the shoot was to experience the unknown streets of Florence and experience it from the eyes of a local girl going about her day to day life and day dreaming about her dreams. This local girl, played by Charli, is able to keep her dreams alive of being a royal princess as well as showing her everyday life as she cycles down the street, takes a ride in her chariot or visits in a local park.

The era was not to be present day but a mixture of 50s, 40s and 20s. This was achieved by mixing up wardrobe, hair and make-up looks from the different eras to create our final look.
