The soft shade of millennial pink inspired us and brought on a cultural shift last year, but there seems to be a new sheriff in town – revolutionary red. While millennial pink changed the way we perceive gender and was universally considered to be the color of youth and playful quirkiness, red has been around for a long time, and we’ve always associated it with power. Whether it’s in form of sexual energy, or as a statement of capable skillfulness, we always use it to make a statement.
Want to know how the trend appeared and how to get the hottest new look from the runways? We’re here for you.
Red For Revolution
This colour is here both as a response and as a form of extension to what millennial pink meant. We used pink to signify new directions in fashion, to break the boundaries of our preconceived notions of gender. Male celebrities like John Legend, Ashton Kutcher, Pharrell and Bruno Mars have been rocking pink and looking gorgeous in it, and we’re slowly letting go of the idea that pink is frilly and girly. Androgyny has been ruling the runways, but now we’re getting back to red, and the excitement that it brings.
From Hillary Clinton’s pantsuit, to Sofia Vergara’s array of bodycon dresses, red is the colour of feminine power, it’s the colour of rebellion and protests. From the TV adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, to designers like Max Mara, Fendi and Oscar de la Renta, red is used to signify something bold, something potent and dynamic.
Update your wardrobe
source / source / source / source
Regardless of whether you care much for social politics or not, red is still the perfect colour for the fall of 2017. Want to be a stunning beauty? Then take a look at Rihanna’s gorgeous dress from the premiere of Valerian. If you want to turn heads, a red dress is the quickest way to do it. Pick a sexy, off-the-shoulder little dress for a date, or bring that vigor to your everyday work outfit by wearing a form-fitting, knee-length red dress, and throwing a black blazer over it.
Blouses are also a beautiful way to rock this trend, but if you want to be really bold, then go for a pair of over-the-knee boots. Kendall Jenner’s classy red turtleneck paired with bright red lipstick can also be a good inspiration for some everyday elegance and sophistication.
Accessories can go a very long way in making a statement, and wearing pretty little details like the ones you can find here can really bring that oomph to your entire outfit. A big leather handbag can provide the perfect contrast to a red dress, or you could wear something that’s all-black and then offset it with a few pieces of vivid red. Just imagine a black sweater and a neat pencil skirt, and then red nail polish, a red brooch and little square scarf tied around your neck. You’ve just turned something that was practically invisible into something chic and stylish.
Red also works beautifully with metallics, so strappy gold sandals or a thin silvery belt can give you that nice dose of glam.
Red is modern now, yes, but it’s also timeless, and a fashion diva might wish to pay tribute to famous ladies from history who wore this color and made it so famously feminine. Take Marilyn Monroe’s famous dress from River of No Return if you want an inspiration for something jaw-droppingly sexy, or in case you want that refined, cultured fashion take Grace Kelly’s loveliness and elegance to really show the world your incredible style.
Wearing red is more than just following a trend. It’s not a color that can be worn by the meek, it’s something that grabs people’s attention and holds it. It represents the raw power of women, it enchants you and commands respect. So, be daring, and be confident. There’s no way you can’t look good in the perfect shade of revolutionary red.

It’s like a perfectly chilled mango-infused cocktail with a delicate zesty finish – a perfect summer dress is the one and only, the quintessence of summer.
In all fairness, few summer dresses can be called anything less than perfect, but the following list contains those that will surely be your best summer allies on your quest for an authentic summer style!
1. The Not-your-average Midi
Anything but neutral, don’t be fooled by this dress’ medium length. They can be as business-like as a tailor-made suit and as dance-friendly as your full-circle mini skirt. Coquettish when worn with a retro look in polka dots and other pinup-perfect details, or very poised when worn with a smart purse and meeting-friendly heels.
2. Flirt With Flirty
Slightly see-through and tantalizingly smooth, the silk and chiffon-laden dresses have deserved their flirty reputation for more than one good reason. If you’re a fan of the latest street-style craze, this fun dress will go gorgeously with a pair of glam sneakers and a leather jacket!
3. Pure And Simple White
The little black dress’ twin sister, and its crisp summer sibling for just about every endeavor, the white dress will be your go-to for quick meetings, picnics in the park, and a romantic dinner as well. It can be embellished with belts, jewelry and other accessories, and it will ensure you an effortless look to die for.
4. Go Maxi
Free-flowing and endlessly versatile, the maxi dress is a perfect choice for any body type. It’s comfortable enough to run errands in it while wearing your flats, yet it can be elegant enough if you elevate it with a pair of classy evening sandals.
5. The Timeless LBD
Despite its dark nature, the little black dress deserves as much attention during summer as it does in autumn and winter. Long, short, off-shoulder, frilled, glam or cotton, you name it - the black dress can pull it off. It’s your best bet for a quick style-up for a conference after which you plan to hit the beach – that’s how free-spirited this dress is!
6. Delicate Florals
Your inner little girl will be forever in love with the boho summer spirit, but your all grown-up ladylike essence will equally appreciate a floral-laden resort wear in your summer arsenal. They can be subtly abstract, or completely immersed in flowery patterns, but designer dresses in florals are the proof that spring is meant to last forever, just like the bohemian chic style.
7. Mini, Yet Maxi
Yes, the queen of sexy party outfits and beach-friendly combos, your mini dress might lack the material of its maxi counterpart, but it surely doesn’t lack it’s spirit! Feisty, fearless and fiery, ethnic-inspired gypsy dresses are as vivid as those exotic beach bars you’ll eagerly wear them to. Also, they will flatter your figure if you pair them with the right leather sandals.
8. Oversized For A Supreme Effect
If you still have your doubts about introducing this one to your wardrobe, then you haven’t tried it yet. The oversized trend is not exclusive to dresses, but they are its most prominent representation. Divinely comfortable and easy to match with pretty much anything, your day at work and your coffee date will love them, no questions asked.
9. Shirts go dress
Perhaps you’ll think it’s just your regular shirt having an identity crisis, but it’s so much more than that. Just like we’ve stolen those boyish watches and lumberjack combos, the shirt-dress is inspired by our fashionable male counterpart’s wardrobe. Button it up and pair with a classy belt, and you have yourself the ideal outfit for an office presentation.
10. Thin Strap Dresses
You want that “I just threw this on” look ideal for the beach, a cocktail party and a night out with your besties? This comfortable, easy-to-wear dress with thin straps will steal the thunder of all your other, fancier items. You needn’t stick to a plain-colored one, too, as you can go as playful as possible and express your personality through its vivid charm!

2016 saw a decrease in cosmetic surgery procedures, for the first time in a decade as 40% less people opted for invasive treatments, according to The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Coupled with that, it was reported that 7 million pounds was paid out in compensation for botched cosmetic surgery over the past decade. With less people opting to go under the knife, and with so many alternative, non-evasive enhancements on the market – we’ve rounded up the best.

Great Bean Bags
When you want to relax and take care of your mind you have to be comfortable. I relax by using my white beanbag slab from Great Bean Bags; I can only describe the experience as what I think floating on a cloud would be like. It is a great quality beanbag and I love it, so much so that my own children are not allowed to sit/lie on it. I may have to get them some for their birthdays. As the slab beanbag is for both indoors and out I can use it in the garden when we have that occasional nice British weather. It retails at £49.99 and looks amazing in any room that you chose to lounge in.
The next step to getting my mind where it needs to be is being healthy and cutting out alcohol in my diet. I will be replacing it with Adegio tea. I have tried Green Rooibos Bonita, White Peach, White Tropics and Ti Kuan Yin. My favourite is White Tropics when I drink it the smell takes me back to when I was in Cancun. There could not be a more relaxing tea. I was sent an Ingenuitea teapot that I use as they are loose tealeaves, the pot makes two cups and I have a cute see through glass mug to sip from. The teapot is £18 and the glass mug is only £7. This tea really is a treat in the morning and through out my stressful day it calms me down.
The artisan herbals all come directly from farmers in South Africa, Egypt and Guatemala. This shows when you make your tea and you taste just how fresh and delicious it is.
Blokes Beers & Burritos by Jo Blakeley
Last but never least, a good book helps to keep your mind in check. I finished this book in four weeks it would have taken me less time but the kids were off for the Summer holidays. As soon as I started it I did not want to put it down. It really spoke to me, I love a book that inspires you to be better and believe in yourself. It is exactly what every woman needs in her life.
The story is about a young woman's search for inner happiness while she is travelling in Central America. Whilst the book is funny and entertaining it teaches the reader life lessons, it is so easy to relate to the character. If you too want to stop repeating the same negative patterns in your life you must read this book. There are so many valuable life lessons that could turn your life around and give you peace of mind. The books retails at £9.99 from Amazon.
So here are are my initial views on ‘Pillow Talk’ – a lipstick I recently purchased from the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Selfridges, London.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF PILLOW TALK
So I had tried it on in store and was happy to note that it is a very wearable colour. There seems to be so much out there now that isn’t! Out of all of the colours I tried, this appeared to be the nicest one on me. It is a muted pink and the rose gold packaging is so pretty.
ON THE LIPS – PILLOW TALK
It is a matte revolution lipstick so is supposed to make lips look fuller without the need for lots of extra steps i.e. line with lipliner etc. The first thing I was pleased to note was that it wasn’t as matte as some can be. Matte Mac lipsticks I find can be very drying on the lips. This one was far from drying and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. I would say it wore well for around 6 hours but fades well and evenly. My lips did not feel like they need a scrub with lip scrub which is usually the case after wearing matte lipstick.
I feel was very muted and more brown-pink on my skintone; which is very fair. The lightest in any foundation.
CLAIMS – PILLOW TALK
It contains papaya and orchid which I believe gives it that soft texture. It also contains 3D glowing pigments. I can’t say I noticed this but I will continue to try this on and see how it fares over time. The lipstick is £24.00 which is standard for high-end lipsticks. They also threw in some CT samples which was nice of them! The staff are also willing to wipe the lipsticks for you to try and recommend products. Hoping to grab one of the eye palettes next.
Is slightly easier to put on as it has the angled bullet. Mine tend to get a slant to them eventually so I think this being the case does make it easier to get in to the corner of my lips.
What do you think?
Taking the photos of the precious moments during your wedding day is a given. However, why not make your wedding photo book a lot more interesting and special?
You can achieve this by focusing on detail shots from time to time. Mixing up the portraits and detail shots is a great way to create a truly memorable and stunning photo album that will remind you of every single aspect that made your wedding so amazing. Need some detail shot ideas? Check out the following suggestions then.
You can have so much fun when capturing your wedding shoes. After all, there are just so many ideas that you can try. Of course, you and your spouse-to-be can wear the shoes and take the detail shot as you keep your feet close. However, one new trend involves taking a shot of just the wedding shoes without you in them. The shoes can be turned to face each other, or they can face straight and have flowers in them. A really unique shot but also very cute and loveable.
Of course, one cannot talk about wedding photos without taking the time to snap a photo of the wedding dress. However, taking a great picture of the wedding gown when the bride’s not wearing it can be a bit tricky.
Therefore, many professionals in wedding photography may agree that hanging the gown a bit higher - top of the window frame or wardrobe - is a great idea for a wedding shot. Also, make sure that there are not too many flashy and intricate details in the background.
Taking detail shots of wedding rings is nothing new in the wedding photography. There are already plenty of ideas that you can find online. Also, you have a lot of creative freedom when it comes to taking detail shots of your wedding rings. You can place them together wherever you like, take detail shots of the rings as you hold hands, and even hang them on a branch or wind chime to make a stunning effect.
Picking the right flowers for your wedding bouquet is definitely one of the most interesting and relaxing tasks in your wedding prep. What’s more, a wedding bouquet plays an important role in the wedding ceremony. Therefore, it also deserves its own detail shot. Again, you can choose to place it somewhere nice and arrange the ribbons and lace around it to make the flowers pop even more. Or, If possible, you can ask your wedding photographer to snap a photo of the bouquet as it flies through the air at the end of the ceremony.
Mix Things Up
You can make truly interesting wedding detail shots even without separating the important details. Some of the most interesting photos that also make great postcards involve group shots of wedding shoes, a garter or a veil, wedding rings (on napkins, for example) and other jewellery pieces, a wedding invitation and some pretty flowers. Of course, you should do your best to arrange these details as effectively as possible.
Just like you organise your wedding day to celebrate the love that the two of you share, you can make your wedding shots as personal and unique as you want. Feel free to get creative with your detail shots as well, as these will definitely make the romantic wedding portraits even more striking.

Grey is not really a colour that makes you sit-up and take notice especially when it comes to A/W. But this A/W we see the checked grey taking a front row seat in this seasons fashion runway.
This rather dim color combined with a checked design will be what every #bossbabe needs and want in her wardrobe.
If you like to mix things up, mixing formal with casual like this ensemble from Dorothy Perkins A/W 17 A/W 17 Collection. Pairing a Grey Shearling Aviator Jacket, White Victorian Blouse and Grey Check Peg Trouser makes for an ultra chic and cool bosslady.
For the #bossbabe that is a bit more laidback but at the same time cool and chic. Pair your Check Jacket and trousers with a crisp white shirt and sneaky slogan t-shirt and bring it all together with millenial pink trainers. All available at George Asda
For those of us that are not lovers of the whole suit ensemble but still want to stay on trend then the grey longline collared coat from New Look paired with a white shirt and denim and some poppink pink heels and your are set for casual friday at the office.
Be the cool girl in the office in these grey wide leg trousers and grey corduroy fur collard coat from Primark.

Holiday packing have never been easy. There’s so much to remember and so little space to bring it all. I always end up either over packing, or under packing - the balance is so difficult to find!
To help you out, here are some 2017 holiday essentials that will help you when it comes to looking beach ready every day…
Want to hear the secret to turning heads on holiday? Stand out poolside with a super sexy, striking women's scalloped swimsuits! Gently nodding to the 1950’s chic trend, scalloped swim styles are everywhere this season and it’s not hard to see why - they look FAB and are v.flattering.
A Blingy Watch
This summer is all about big, flashy watches. Forget trying to cram in a whole host of jewellery picks this year, and stick to one accessory - your watch. If you can’t find a ladies watch that’s quite flashy enough, try brands like Raymond Weil Watches or Daniel Wellington that will certain sparkle in the sunshine and make your wrist to talk of the resort!
A BIG Hat
With your summer hat this season, it really is go big or go home. Think Audrey Hepburn, with a huge floppy sun-hat that will not only have you looking glamourous, but also has the added benefits of :
1. Protecting you from damaging sun rays
2. Hiding any humidity-angered locks!
A BOHO Throw
Add an extra bit of sun protection with a lightweight boho inspired throw over this season. This summer-chic ponchos and coverups. Having sun-kissed skin is wonderful, but you need to protect yourself from burning and serious sun damage, so why not do it in a fashionable way?
This summer is all about minimalism, with 4 or 5 statement pieces all you need to make sure you stand out on the shores. Instead of cramming your case, shop smart and invest in some statement items that will keep you cool as a cucumber and ensure you steal the style show this summer...
Written by Beth Pembrook
If you sneak a peek onto the catwalks of the latest fashion shows, and peruse though the wardrobes of some of our beloved Insta stars, you’ll easily find at least several style items that traveled in time from the infamous ‘90s. They are youthful, daring, rebellious and glam, and they are sure as hell here to stay!
Looking for something old and something new? For fashionistas among you who crave to add a retro touch to their collection, the following pieces and trends are your most likely candidates for a modern look inspired by the timeless touch of this vivid decade!
Chokers With A Classy Twist
Whatever stirred up the style waters in the past decades did not manage to root out the one and only, the lovely, endlessly sexy and slightly intimidating – the choker. However, unlike the original version that was predominantly intended for the very rock ‘n’ roll Avril Lavigne fan, mixed with a black eyeliner, now we’re looking at collections of immense beauty suitable even for an evening look.
Take, for instance, Oscar La Renta and his fall collection of incredibly beautiful evening pieces combining black, red, lime outfits and glam makeup, with the perfect finishing touch of a sparkly choker. But you can still embellish your jewellery box with the good old black, simple and velvety choker of your choice.
The Immortal Platform Shoe
Among so many ballet flats and high heels, the platform shoe has been slightly forgotten until this very year. The sheer volume of varieties will dazzle and make you dizzy, as they come in colours of every spectrum, and materials your feet can only dream of.
Balmain’s purple daze of animal-print or the evenly-distributed high soles of glitzy gold and flashy silver are just some examples of this shoe’s revival. There are also the pinup-inspired Dolce & Gabbana polka dots and snazzy reds, while the delicate bohemia remains dominant in Max Mara’s ethnic browns and florals.
Simple And Sleek With Satin
It looks and feels like lingerie, yet it contains all the high-style glory of the evening gown, worn effortlessly with that “what do I care” attitude to either a dinner party, or just your all-night-long rave paired with an oversized denim jacket.
Look up to Kate Moss to tackle her ever-so-spotless slip on satin look, and you’ll be able to pull anything off after you manage to handle that one. Don’t be fooled by its simplicity – it speaks volumes of Kate’s innovative, daring spirit, and so it will of yours.
When in doubt, go goth
Once upon a time, it was the alternative style of the loudest of rebels, and Amy Lee fans world-wide. Now it has become a powerful echo, a beautiful ghost that haunts even the pickiest of designers (think Miuccia Prada) of the fashion universe to become the staple of street looks everywhere.
Goth has once again made its presence known in every bit of beauty there is – from the choker, to the satin dress. But one piece is still the quintessence of all things goth, one item to rule them all. It’s the enchanting gothic corset with its lilacs, blacks and cobweb patterns that will breathe life into your ‘90s collection no matter the occasion.
Keep It Short With Crop Tops
Show some skin with the comfy crop tops, designed for you to enjoy the summer breeze and break the spell of the seemingly conservative high-waisted jeans. The beauty of crop tops is in their endless versatility and simplicity.
You can pair them with your boho skirt, wear the off-shoulder, embellish them with quotes and neon shades, or simply mix them with your favourite pair of fancy pants. Alexander Wang played with the trend by adding an edgy cropped shirt element to his feminine combos with miniskirts and a minimal make-up free look.

The reasons we love Spring/Summer are endless. The longer days, bright evenings and sunshine - what’s not to love? Another fab aspect of the season changing is the excuse it gives us all to do a bit shopping! It’s finally time to bring our bikinis out of storage and pack away are jumpers, but what are the hottest trends for the coming summer months?
Well, if you’re planning on adding some fresh, spring/summer pieces to your wardrobe in the next few weeks, these following pieces are a fab place to start…
Finding the perfect pair of summer heels is a harder task than you might think! There’s often so much choice, that is can be tricky to know where to start. This year is all about pastel colours, moving well away from the standard black and tan, and toward some brighter, prettier varieties. The block heeled sandal is huge this season also, making these powder blues ones from KOI footwear bang on trend.
Baby Blue Summer Sandals - www.koifootwear.com
If we’re honest, Gingham is a bit of a marmite pattern - you either love it or you hate it. Whichever camp you sit in, this season it’s going to be everywhere. Pretty gingham shirts, mainly in bright reds and blues will feature heavily in most collections, so if you were ever going to try this picnic blanket inspired style, now is the time. The one pictured is from Asos and it incorporates another hot trend for the season - ruffles, so it’s a real winner.

Embroidered Denim Skirt
Always a Spring/Summer essential, the denim skirt is a favourite year after year . The fresh twist we’re seeing across this staple this season is the addition of embroidery! While we saw tonnes of embroidered designs across our jeans and handbags in the winter months, this summer it’ll be all over the denim skirt. We love this simple one pictured from Topshop. Teamed with a simple blouse, this look will get you through SS17 in style.
Rose Embroidered Skirt - www.topshop.com
A Chic Backpack
Gone are the days that backpack where considered uncool and nerdy - they’re now basically the most ‘trendy’ accessory you can own. Still super convenient, last year saw the fjallraven rucksack become the new ‘must-have’ bag among the hipster masses, but if this isn’t really your thing, try a more sleek and sophisticated style this year with a cute leather design. The one pictures in from Mango and, let’s be honest, it adorable.

This summer is all about bright designs and out there patterns. Clashing and mixing up different patterns will be big, as will vibrant colours. With these simple essentials, you’ll be able to mix and match your wardrobe to create some edgy, but super on trend looks.

Over the weekend, i had the pleasure of attending the Curly Hair Festival at the ILEC Conference Centre in London. I had previously attended a number of the Natural Hair Week events in London so I was excited to see what the founder of the iconic event Vinna Best had in store following the recent rebranding from Natural Hair Week to Curly Treats Festival rebranding.
After years of attending hair events, i’m always astounded by the number of natural haired lovelies that attend and in this, i’m sure that they were not disappointed by the offering in this instance. Throughout the day guests were treated to hair and health workshops, demos and interactive discussions, a fashion show in celebration of Black Girl Magic and of course some of you favourite brands such as Cantu beauty, Creame of nature, Mixed chicks and Softn’ Free were in attendance as alongside some amazing independent brands. Popular influencers such as MahoganyCurls, Lekoia Lee and the girls from Curlcuture were also on deck taking part in workshops, discussions and meet and greets. I especially loved the fact that men were catered to with a dedicated afro men’s hub which offered free shape-ups, beard maintenance and skin care advice for the man in your life. For mini curlies, there was an empowHER lunch and a children’s corner which provided fun interactive activities and storytelling.
“Planning my wedding was really simple and stress-free,” said no bride ever. Truly, this experience is a pit full of anxieties and panic attacks just lurking to get you. Did you know that it is quite possible to have a perfectly planned wedding with minimum stress? Of course, it is. There are people who do that for a living and since they have done it hundreds of times, they have all the right tips and tricks up their sleeves that will help you have a dream-like ceremony. Here are some of the top helpful hacks to make it happen.
Set The Budget First
Planning the finances is the most annoying part of the wedding organization, which is why you should deal with it before anything else. The first thing you should do is calculate an approximate budget you can afford. This will help you decide on the number of the guests, the venue and many other things. You should always add a little extra to the total sum, in case anything unpredictable happens. Pay upfront for everything that can be paid right away, and take advantage of the high cost of wedding organization by signing up for a credit card with a rewards program.
Guests Before The Venue
Your budget will lead you to set the number of guests, and the number of the guests will lead you to the right choice of venue. Choose a wedding venue only after you’ve determined the exact number of guests to make sure there is enough space for everyone. You can follow a general guideline which recommends that the chosen space has about 25 square feet per guest.
Rely On Recommendations
Wedding planning is all about making choices. Sometimes the search for professionals, such as photographers, florists, and DJs can be very exhausting. To make the selection process easier and smoother, rely on warm recommendations of the other wedding professionals. You see, the photographers, florists, catering services, restaurants and others have all worked on many weddings and some of them have worked together. Your restaurant can recommend a photographer who worked on previous weddings there, and your photographer can give you a tip about a good florist, and so on.
Picture A Theme And Let It Guide You
It is very difficult to plan a wedding as a series of single steps, and things can get really chaotic. If you want to have a cohesive ceremony, set the theme and the color scheme at the very beginning, and sync all the other wedding decorations with the dominant theme. Start with elegant wedding invitations and make the venue décor match their color palette. The invitations can also inspire some interesting dress details, and why not, the wedding menu.
Wear What You Love
Being yourself on the biggest day of your life is the most important advice you can get. Forget what anyone tells you about an elegant ball gown for the bride and a tux for the groom. It is important to wear what you feel comfortable in because this day is all about you. And if you feel like wearing a white tux and a pair of red shoes, go for it. Or if you want to put on some sneakers so you can dance the night away, that is up to you, too. The same goes for hair and makeup.
One Step At A Time
Finally, wedding planning is a process, and you should organize by doing one task at a time. The optimal time frame for planning a wedding is one year. The most important thing is to set the date and budget at least twelve months ahead of the wedding. In the following couple of months, you should choose the dress and book the professional wedding services you will require. Three months before the wedding, it should all be about preparing the ceremony and after that, you’re left with the small details like dress fitting, seating plan, writing vows, etc.
These six tips should help you minimize the wedding planning stress and maximize the wedding success.

Essential oils have been used since the ancient of times, having a wide range of benefits to offer, about a person’s health and well-being. It is a known fact that they can be used to strengthen the immune system, balance hormone levels and help with the elimination of toxins.
Essential oils have also been identified as having a positive effect on the mind, improving a person’s mood and reducing the risk of depression, anxiety, and other mental problems. In the following paragraphs, discover some of the best ways to use essential oils and energize your mind, saying goodbye to brain fog.
When we find ourselves in the presence of a pleasant smell, certain areas in our brains are activated, and an emotional response is triggered. Diffusion is one of the most efficient ways to use essential oils, guaranteeing a highly dynamic energizing effect (dependent of course, on the actual type of essential oil you are using).
By using this method, you can energize your mind and quickly lift up your spirits. Essential oils can also stimulate the cognitive function, so you do not have to ask yourself how to improve memory. As for the actual devices, you can use cold air or water-based diffusers.
Once again, essential oils are easily absorbed by our smell receptors, having a positive effect on the mind. If you do not have a diffuser but you would like to benefit from the energizing properties of certain essential oils, you should consider inhalation.
All you have to do is apply several drops of essential oils in your palms; then, make sure you cup your hands and take in several deep breaths. You will the invigorating effect of the chosen essential oil in an instant, enjoying yourself to the fullest.
3. Homemade Spray
If you want to create an energizing atmosphere in your home, you can easily opt for another aromatic application. What you want to do is take a clean spray bottle and mix your favourite essential oil with water.
You can even mix and match several essential oils, but make sure that you are creating a combination that is both pleasant and energizing. Then, using the spray bottle, you can change the atmosphere in your house. You can apply the mixture on your furniture, carpets and even linens.
While this might not be your typical way to use essential oils, you should know that it is quite effective. The first thing that you want to decide upon is the type of essential oil you prefer (certain oils have a more energizing effect on the mind than others).
Then, all you have to do is add a small quantity of the chosen essential oil in the washing machine or dryer. When the clothes/sheets are dry, you will practically fall in love with the way they smell and feel energized at once. How great is that?
5. Addition to cleaning products
Cleaning products do not always have a pleasant smell or, often, they are rather neutral. If you want to energize your mind and enjoying the cleaning process at the same time, you might consider adding a little bit of your favourite essential oils to commonly-used cleaning products.
Make sure that you obtain a delightful combination and do not hesitate to use the product in question to clean different surfaces in your household. After this small change, you will surely not dread the cleaning of your home anymore, feeling all pumped with energy and ready to handle any challenge.
A massage with your preferred essential oil can be one of the best ways to relax after a hard day at the office. Essential oils are easily absorbed at the level of the skin, having a beneficial effect on the mind at the same time.
If you are interested in energizing your mind, then consider choosing essential oils with such properties, such as lemon, ginger, peppermint, rosemary, and pine. Keep in mind that sometimes carrier oil is required, to facilitate the absorption of the carrier oil into the skin.
To increase your energy levels and uplift your spirits at the same time, it is highly recommended to try a bath with essential oils. Among the oils that you can use for such purposes, there are geranium, basil, angelica, lavender, and grapefruit.
What you want to do is take your favourite essential oils and add them to your bath; you can repeat the bath on a regular basis, enjoying its wonderful effects. As an alternative, you can add several drops to a cold/hot compress or mix your favourite essential oils with your lotion and moisturiser.
In conclusion, these are some of the best ways to use essential oils and improve your mood. As you have seen, these methods are not hard to follow and they have a lot of benefits to offer in return.
When it comes to topical applications with essential oils, it is always important to avoid certain sensitive areas, such as the skin around the eyes, the ears and any part of the skin that presents injuries or wounds. Keep in mind that certain essential oils can be used internally as well; these should be consumed only in small quantities, as they have genuine potent properties.
