Last Saturday saw myself and my talented team working our magic at the 2nd edition of Tama Ra Soiree. The event is held every first Saturday of the month in the heart of London at the Holiday Inn, Bloomsbury.
Guests are treated to a night of music, art and live entertainment with an all you can eat Caribbean buffet – yummy!
Fashions Finest teamed up with with CEO Of Tama Ra Soiree Hazel Jordan to bring a showcase of fashion at the event. Each event features a different designer with their latest collections modelled by models in a catwalk showcase around the grand luxurious event room.
My job is to design a suitable makeup and hair look to match the designer that month and their wonderful collection.
Last Saturday we had the pleasure of working with Helen Woolams of Hellavagirl and her sequinned collection. Glitz, glam and glamour are just a few words that spring to mind when thinking of Helen’s collection.
To match her designs I knew I had to create a look that was as equally stunning as her glorious gowns. GLITTER!!
I chose glitter as the main focus for the makeup. Sparkling colours to match the sparkling sequins in the designs – perfect! I talked to my team about picking colours from the designs and incorporating one colour into the glitter eye makeup. Keeping the rest of the makeup minimal so that the eyes really popped with the dresses, I chose a natural nude lip with lots of gloss to enhance the glamorous look even more. Fresh dewy slightly highlighted skin and a pop of blush is all that was needed for the skin. Hair was kept simple popped back into a bun or pony or left natural.

It’s the Freaking Weekend, Yeah!!! Time to get rid of those boring office wear and show off. I got you covered with some weekend look inspiration, whether you are going to lunch with friends, shopping, drinks and dancing or hanging out poolside.
My favs are boxy tops and co-ords and off course finding just the right swimsuit for my beach debut. Here are some weekend inspiration and just some basic tips for buying your swimsuit.
Boxy tops are so versatile, you can pair them with basically everything. Styled with shorts for a fun look. Keep them cropped when wearing them with high-waisted shorts and if shorts are not your thing try a skinny jeans, it will do wonders for your legs as it will elongate your legs, making them look longer. I especially like this printed one from Romwe, its playful and will look great with a mini skirt, shorts or skinny jeans.
Dots are all the rage so have fun in this dotted shorts form Romwe, they will even look great with a pair of heels for a night of fun.
Co-ords are just great, they make dressing so much easier and work well for day or night. Pair them with heels or wedges for a more dressed up look or flat/sandals for a more casual day look.
When it comes to swimsuits, make sure to choose one that shows of your best bits and hides the not so best bits. The key is to find a swimsuit that balances your proportions, so know your body shape before shopping for your swimsuit.
The Pear Shape
You are curvy at the hips and thighs and smaller on the top. Go for a bottom that falls just below the largest part of the upper leg and for the top go for a plunging neckline that draws the eyes to your top part and away from the bottom.
Go for underwired or moulded cups and stay clear of embellishments because you want the eye away from your bust. Avoid ruffles or embellishments as this will just draw attention to your large bust.
Go for embellished or detailed tops to create an illusion of a larger bust
You carry more weight around your midsection, so you want to conceal your tummy area. Choose high-waisted or tankini styles to conceal your tummy.
You want to highlight your curves but still gives enough support. You want to stay away from monokinis or string bikinis with thicker ties, as this will just accentuate your widest, hips area.
An asymmetrical swim suits will draw the eye towards your neckline and in turn highlighting the line from your neck to your collarbone. Also try to colour block, one colour for your top and another for your bottom, this will highlight your shape.
It is important to know your shape, even for everyday shopping. But in the case of swimwear it is just a little bit more important, because you are so much more exposed and you want to look and show off your best bits.
My philosophy, weekends are for having fun. Let your hair loose, and hide that boring week wear in the back of your closet. Choose a look that will suit your personality and have fun with it and remember keep smiling because a killer smile is always in fashion.
I bring you my 2nd hottest summer make-up trend that you can achieve in minutes….
Trend two…. Soften those lips
By soften I don't mean keeping those luscious lips of yours soft, but of course that goes without saying.. Always use a lip scrub twice a week and balm daily throughout the day, but what I mean is keep those lipstick colours slightly smudged this season. You want to create a soft focused look on the lips.. Perfectly straight bold lip line is out and slightly smudged long wear looking lips is in.
Apply your lipstick how you would normally, don't concentrate on creating the perfect straight line as that's not required for this hot look, instead apply quickly. This may be enough to create the smudged effect or if it's not simply take a cotton bud and roll inwards along the lip line. This will diffuse the edges making them look smoking hot and smudged. Simple.. Now you're ready to show off your beautiful lips in this seasons hottest lip trend.

Not every fashionista love sneakers, because they do not really tie an outfit together like a pair of snazzy sexy heels. But whether you love or hate them, they do add a certain pizazz to any outfit.
Sneakers can be a great way to change up your look, especially if tend to gravitate towards the same look day after day. Switch things up with a pair of crafty and trendy sneakers. Pair it with everything from skirts, pants, dresses and everything else in between in your closet. Sneakers gives a sporty vibe to your look but you can still maintain your girly look.

Last weekend saw me working my makeup magic backstage at the world famous grand finale ‘Top Model Of Colour’ competition. In its 9th season it promised to be a spectacular event narrowing the large number of applications down to just 14 finalists. All 14 girls were winners in their own right by making it to the final, but only one lucky girl would be crowned Top Model of Colour Season 9 winner, winning a year contract with Mahogany International Model management amongst other prizes.
The winner… Aramatou
Being a well established event in it's 9th year and being the head hair and makeup artist I meant business. Everything needed to be perfect, these young ladies needed to feel a million dollars when they graced the catwalk in front of the judges and spectators of fashionistas, celebrity's, models, scouts and magazines. My job along with my team was to make that happen.
Working with head stylist Malaika Mwaniki from a moodboard I chose and designed a beautiful look to suit all girls. Using Mehron UK for Treasure House of Makeup I picked out beautiful hues to compliment the girls skin tones making them look and feel like a princess.
Makeup: Bev K, Rose Taylor, Rosita Baiamonte & Shindy. Hair: Byrony O’dame, Daniela De Cervo & Helen Leonard
KEY PRODUCTS – Mehron UK
For the hair we kept it simple. Pulled off the face into bun so that the girls facial features really popped for all to see.
I take this opportunity to say a massive congratulations to all involved in this years final and pre show photoshoot and a special thank you to my team.
Are you looking to update your wardrobe with clothes that are fashionable but functional? And by that we mean clobber that’s bang on trend and manages to keep you cool on those hot summer nights. Well, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s some inspiration that will point you in the right direction when shopping for summer.
Evening Maxi Dresses
It’s all very well wearing a cute vest top paired with shorts to go down the beach, but that just won’t do for the evening. Why? Well, it’s a bit casual for one, and two, that’s what maxi dresses are for! These dresses are the ultimate way to amp up the glamour without looking too overdone.
Say hello to a gorgeous belted ombre dress. This orange number will cinch you in at the waist, and with a floor sweeping length, you’re certain to feel elegant for an evening of al fresco dining. The chiffon material is lightweight, making it the perfect dress to wear on a sweltering summer night. Why not accentuate the beautiful bandeau neckline with a statement necklace? You’re sure to look divine.
Belted Ombre Maxi Dress: £60 at Jane Norman
Going Out Dresses
Are you going out for a strawberry daiquiri (or five!) and a dance? Then you’ll no doubt want to wear something a bit dressier. Swap that maxi dress for a short but sophisticated going out dress; you can’t let loose on the dance floor in a to-the-floor number now, can you?!
This slinky lace dress is the ultimate party dress this summer. The stunning scalloped trim and lace detail makes for a winning choice to wear out on the town, and with a below the knee length, it’s not too short.
With thin straps and a cross over back, this dress is a must have for the upcoming sunny season. And best of all, you can choose from eye-catching pink or classic black – let’s face it, everyone loves a little black dress!
Strappy Lace Dress: £30 at Jane Norman
Named after the fashion icon Brigitte Bardot, it’s no wonder bardot tops are making a comeback this summer. Why? Well it’s a stylish staple for SS15 that exposes a bit more skin that’s subtly risqué, so if you’re looking for an evening top, a bardot top is your best bet.
Effortlessly create a super sassy look with an off-the-shoulder top that flaunts an attractive sweetheart neckline. Team with skinny jeans, plus a pair of killer heels, and you’ll be good to go.
Embrace sixties style by introducing this timeless essential to your summer wardrobe and not only will you look flirty and feminine, you’ll feel cool in the balmy evening with those shoulders out.
Sweetheart Off the Shoulder Top: £25 at Jane Norman
So, there you have it. Now you know what summer staples to incorporate into your wardrobe to be on trend this season. Are you interested in adding these key pieces to your collection? Then look no further than Jane Norman. Here you’ll find fashion-forward clothing, shoes and accessories for women who love to stay up-to-the-minute with trends.
The bodycon or body conscious dress is probably one of summer’s most basic pieces. Comes in a variety of colours, from mini to midi. Easy and versatile to wear paired with sneakers or sandals for a casual look and heels for a dressed up look. The bodycon makes a statement on its own so keep accessories to a minimal
Add a jacket, or loose fitting shirt or a loose-fitting cardigan if you are feeling self-conscious
This is a figure hugging pieces so if you are a full figured women, go for something with a bit of stretch, that accentuates your curves like this envelope hemline and plunging V-neckline style. A dark colour is always good if you are a bit body-shy as it creates a long, lean and vertical line giving the impression of a slimmer figure. A panelled design with black or navy panels create the illusion of a smaller waist. Shapewear is also a good idea to hide any lumps and bumps.

Just because summer is still deciding, whether or not she wants to brace us with her presence, does not mean that we cannot enjoy the fruits of her labour. Juicy, sweet smelling summer fruits!!!
My favourite fruity skincare
Mango body scrub
Rich in Vitamin A, which helps to rid your skin of dead cells and gives life to new cells. You can eat half of the Mango and use the other half for a sweet summer scrub
• 1 Mango
• 2 teaspoons of Oats
• 1 teaspoon of Honey
Put the cut up mango (cut into chunks) in a blender until it’s a smooth puree, then mix in the oats and honey and stir well. Use it in or before showering, applying it in circular motion, from your feet moving upwards, all over body, scrub for 2-5 minutes then rinse and moisturise well.
Can be enjoyed by all skin types
These little berries are full of vitamin A and C and high in antioxidants that fights against free radical that causes premature aging. So the perfect anti-aging agent. Can be used in a sugar scrub or mask.
Ingredients for Blackberry mask
• 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 1/4 cup black berries
Mix together in blender until mixture is nice and smooth Apply face and leave on for 10-20 minutes and rinse off
I recommend the Blackberry mask for the summer time, as too much sun time, can contribute to skin aging.
The enzymes and AHAs found in pineapples are natural exfoliates and skin lightener. The Bromelain enzyme in pineapples helps to remove of the outer layer of skin, and reduces age spots and wrinkles.
Pineapple Sugar Body Scrub
• Half a pineapple
• 1 cup of sugar
Put pieces of pineapple in blender and blend until a smooth puree, mix in the sugar and add oil of your choice. Scrub away to bright glowing skin.
Enriched with Vitamin C strawberries can be used as a toner and also works to correct un-even skin complexion. Strawberries can also be used as a teeth whitener.
Strawberry sugar scrub
• Almond oil (or oil of your choice)
Finely cut up your strawberries, mash it and mix with almond oil and sugar and Voila!!!
Whether you enjoy it as a yummy smoothie, a healthy snack or as a pamper treat, summer fruits are full of nourishing nutrients for body and skin.

Summer is almost here so what better way to kick the season off by being in the know of the hottest summer makeup trends seen from the top fashion week shows from around the globe back in September 2014.
Being a make-up artist mainly based in fashion Means I love fashion weeks every season every year. I'm very lucky to be able to work at many fashion shows throughout the year around the globe which gives me the perfect opportunity to see the first glimpse of what's predicted to be hot make-up trends in my make-up world for the following seasons.
Over the next couple of weeks I will be bringing you some of the hottest summer make-up trends with my simple easy tricks to achieve the look within minutes.
So, trend one.... Lighten those brows!!
Yep that's right, instead of making your brows perfectly bold this season is all about embracing them and making them as big a statement as ever by doing the complete opposite to what we're all used to. No brows at all! Ok, maybe not no brows unless you're a make-up artist like me wanting to create an out there avant garde look, but lighter the brows the better.
Instead of filling them in with your darker brow pencils, powder or gels opt for a white eyeshadow. You want to create a look a few shades lighter than your normal brow shade. You also need to conceal.. So if you don't own a concealer invest in one close to your skin tone.
Taking a flat make-up brush, create a mask over the brow hair with your concealer. A thin mask is all you need, you still want to be able to see your hairs, we're not blocking the eyebrow out. Taking a a fluffy eye brush lightly dust over the brows with the white shadow to help disguise them more. Perfect you're all set for this super hot make-up trend.

Taking care of naturally curly hair can be quite an intensive task, I know some ladies that have a really crazy regime of taking care of their natural curls. I must admit that I can be very lazy when it comes to taking care of my curls but I try. It is that laziness that sometimes leave my hair dry and then needs some extra care to get it back to healthy and moisturised curls.
Here are some of my favourite hair treatments
Applying olive oil to my hair before I was it and then letting it sit under a plastic cap for about 45minutes before washing my hair. This why you give the oil to completely absorb into the hair follicles. Olive oil also improves the strength and elasticity of your hair.
Mayonnaise and Avocado Conditioner for dry and frizzy hair.
Make your own: Mix 1 cup of mayonnaise with 1/2 avocado until you have a paste. Rub it on your hair and cover your head with a plastic cap.
Wrap a hot towel around it. Leave it on for 20 minutes and wash. Try to repeat this treatment once a week for great results.
Then there are some treatments that I like to leave overnight on my hair, which are the Argan oil hair mask. There are a variety of Argan oil mask, but I like the one in picture below, which I bought in the Euro pound store. This mask is enriched with proteins, Kertain and infused with Argan oil.
Just make sure to cover your hair with a plastic cap and a head scarf, keeping it nice and warm allowing the treatment to work its magic. This treatment restores elasticity, improves hair texture and makes hair easy to manage.
Boots Coconut & Almond Intensive Hair Mask. I also like to leave this one overnight for soft, moisture hair in the morning.
If I want something quick, then there is the 1minute treatment from Garnier- Ultimate blends sleek restorer for frizzy hair. Love this one, leaves my hair smelling nice, soft and frizz free Best part is I can apply it while in the shower and just rinse it off when I am done and I am ready to go.
Sunshine, yes we all need it but it can be harmful to our skin, if we are not sun-careful. Here is some tips to be sun safe this summer
Go For Water
The summer sun leaves skin oilier, so it is best to ditch those oil based products and go for water based products. As the temperatures goes up so does your internal skin temperatures and can cause water to vaporise from your skin cells, making it thirsty. Thus opt for water based products which will add the needed moisture to your skin.
Do try: Lancôme Hydra Zen Neurocalm Extrême Soothing Moisturising Cream-Gel
Enriched with botanical extracts it provides hydration for up to 12 hours. It helps to restore skin, making it more supple, smooth, soft and radiant. Suitable for all skin types.
The quickest and easiest way is just to keep up your water in-take throughout the day
SPF numbers, I know can often be confusing 20, 30, 50 which one do you pick. Well just because it is a SPF 50, it does not mean that it is more effective. It is not about the number but about how generously you apply it to your skin. So do layer it on tick if you want to avoid sunburn.
Do try: Hawaiian Tropic Protective Sun Lotion SPF 30 with UVA and UVB. Pampers and protects, it has a light and silky feel, contains vitamins C & E and is water resistant.
Remember cover your neck and chest and any skin that is exposed to the sun.
Protect, Protect And Protect
Vitamin C serum is great for protecting skin cells, fighting harmful DNA damage that contributes to aging. Vitamin C also increases the effectiveness of SPF.
Boost your vitamin C intake with fruits such as grapefruit, papaya, tomatoes and goji berries.
Do try: Body shop Vitamin C Instant glow enhancer – revitalizes skin leaving it soft and smooth
Cool It Down
We do get those days when we forget to apply our sunscreen and ends up with sunburn. So if you are having one of those days, natural yoghurt or Aloe Vera gel are wonderful soothers
A Snooze In The Shade
Spending too much time in the sun can bring about brown spot/sun spots, as the sun triggers inflammation which can increase melanin activity resulting in hyper-pigmentation. Although this might not be caused by the sun's rays but the heat our skin feels. So spend some time in the shade to let your body cool down also avoid very hot shower or very hot water when washing your face.
Walking around the shop over the weekend I spotted a lot of yellow, not really a colour that I would wear in a complete outfit. The colour of gold, butter and ripe lemon are often associated with happiness, laughter and good times, the colour of the sun. Found on the colour wheel between green and orange.
Sunshine yellow might not compliment all our skin tones, so find the right shade of yellow that works for you. When out shopping hold the colour up to your face and see what it does, does it brighten and lift your face or does the colour make you fade into the back ground.
Have a look at the shades of yellow, you are bound to find the right shade for you.

With summer fast approaching there is an influx of special occasions to dress up for, from the races to weddings to hen parties. We all get excited for an excuse to get our glad rags on and get all dolled up to have fun with friends and loved ones. But before you go weaving in and out of the rails searching endlessly for that perfect outfit, here's some inspiration to get you started.
So if you want to go for a fresh summer look, a monochrome dress is a great choice. Whether it's a print or plain, it'll look great against your (hopefully) sun kissed skin, and leaves you open to glam it up with bright accessories. The cut of the first dress is flawless with its open sides and high neck, the perfect balance of sophisticated yet sexy. The marble swirled print dress is very flattering with its layered waist and asymmetric design. For an event like the races or a wedding opt for a more delicate sandal style shoe. If you feel daring enough, the pure white dress is simple yet stunning and a great option in the hot weather. Monochrome floral prints are gorgeous, look bang on trend this season wearing them in a dipped hem or Bardot style.
Of course bright and bold prints are always something you want to wear when the sun comes out, expressing that fabulous feeling the good weather brings. Busy florals are a popular option, as are graphic geometrics. The halter neck style daisy dress with skater skirt is great for a fun and feminine look. The A-line dress with geometric patterns is a fabulous look for those who prefer to wear something a little less figure hugging but still flattering. Feel like a hippy princess in the washed out floral stripe maxi dress. A little less bold, the spring green dress with scattered floral print is the picture of elegance with its high neck and midi length. Make the most of high neck style dresses with a classy updo.
NUDES AND PALES
Dresses in more subtle tones can be just as striking as bold and vibrant hues. There is beauty in simplicity, and with a natural makeup palette and some classy accessories, you can guarantee an elegant and feminine look. From the draped pale pink style above, to the sweet powder blue ensemble with pretty capped sleeves, to the embellished peach beauty, the selection above will suit various shapes and tastes.

The first day of the New Year we all make the resolution to stay fit. We do all the healthy eating and drinking for the first few months then we get bored off it. Come spring and we start to peel of the layers of winter and the looming of summer and that beach holiday, it becomes crunch time. With the bikini beach body becoming our goal so we try and fit in as much exercise and healthy eating as we can.
Some of my own favourite beach body workouts are from the Popsugar fitness channel on youtube www.youtube.com I love the high intensity 10 minute workouts that you can fit in any time of the day. Workout ranges from yoga, boot-camp workouts and HIIT workouts. You can easily fit these workouts in anytime of the day especially if you are on crunch time. I like to switch things up so I do not get bored so I focus on just arms for one week and then switch over to just legs and then a whole week of full body workouts and then adding in yoga for strength and stretching.
Get your bikini body on in Active wear from Forever 21, at least you will look good while building up a sweat
Another of my picks for post workout is Cleanse water
Benefits of Cleanse Water
• Lemon juice and cayenne pepper are both immune boosters and natural detoxifiers
• Lemons aid digestion, help fight hunger cravings, and help stimulate the liver to remove toxins
• Cayenne pepper helps the body sweat out toxins while improving blood and lymphatic circulation so your cells get more nutrients
I always start my workout with a cup (not a full cup as it can be a bit hot) of cayenne pepper on hot water then enjoy the lemon, ginger, cayenne pepper and honey mix throughout the day.
With summer just a few weeks away, here are some helpful tips for eating healthy at the office.
1. Go for water rather than coffee Swap H20 for Coffee, I suggest taking with you to work the cayenne pepper, honey and ginger water or make your own fruit infused water.
2. It is often just easier to eat at your desk when you are supper busy but never eat at your desk. You can never really enjoy your food and do not feel like you are eating so later on you reward yourself with something sweet and nice. Go sit in the office eating space or go out to the park that way you are adding some exercise by walking.
3. It's okay to have just that one sweet treat, because telling yourself that you cannot have it will just make you crave it more and its then that we overindulge. So have the one but only the one.
4. Pack your own lunch it will not just safe you money but as you are on crunch time you will make sure that it is healthy.
5. Snack on nuts like Pistachios as they will keep you full until home time.
Good luck ladies!! Crunch time is not what I would recommend for a fit and healthy summer body but every little helps. What is best, is just to stick to that New Year's resolution, keep fit and healthy throughout the year for a killer summer body.
Ok so our feet is always last on the list of beauty to-do's and especially because we are still stuck in boots and closed shoes, due to winter still hanging around. But as we are nearing the end of May and summer looming, why not take the plunge and make your feet happy with a DIY Pedicure.
Start by soaking your feet in some warm water with lemon juice. This is help to clear up any stains on your toes, for tired feet add some Epson salt. Grab a magazine, while you're soaking your feet, to catch up on some summer fashion trends. Remember to remover old nail polish before you soak your feet. This is also the best time to cut and file your nails, as soak left them soft making it easier to cut and shape them.
The soak will leave your feet nice and soft. Now for the scrub part, I prepared a Vanilla scented sugar scrub, this will take off any dead skin on your feet. Remover hard calluses and smooth out heels with a pumice stone or scraper.
Vanilla scented sugar scrub – mix sugar with olive/baby oil and add vanilla extract
Olive oil is my choice of moisturiser cover your feet with this moisturizer and then put a pair of fluffy socks on to let it all soak in.
Now all that is left is to paint your toe nails, I picked Hot pink- PS ILOVEYOU range, available at Primark. Do not forget to put a base coat especially if you are using a dark colour to avoid staining.
If like me you are a fan of flip flops and bare feet during the summer months then try and do a DIY pedicure at least once a week. Or if you prefer the salon make sure to go regularly because our feet are much more exposed during the summer months so make sure to keep them looking good throughout the season.
Now that your feet are happy Show them OFF !!! Mine absolutely need some sun
Some inspiration from Dune London – www.dunelondon.com
Gosh Cosmetics – Giant Sun powder
I absolutely love this product, it is a giant and I have two of them and I have hardly scratched the surface of the one. It give a beautiful subtle glow and works great as an eye shadow as well.
There is tons of top oils on the market but my favourite is baby oil, it leaves my skin super soft and well moisturised. I put it on my skin with it before I shower for baby soft skin. It also works great as a make-up remover.
Pantene curl definer mouse
I love mousse on my hair, as I find it softer then gel and the mousse gives great curl definition and leaves my hair with less frizz.
Leave-in conditioner & water mix
To give my hair that added moisture during the hot days lazing on the beach. Make your own by mixing some of your favourite leave-in conditioner with water in a spritz bottle, carry it in your bag and spritz as needed.
Wide tooth comb
As soon as water hits my hair it goes into coily curls so a wide tooth, is a must to safely detangle my curls
W7 Lipstick –Sandpiper
This is from their Full Colour range and yes it is defiantly full colour, my lips POP when I put this colour on it. A beautiful hot pink that goes stunning with the soft glow of the giant sun powder.
P.S I LOVE YOU – nail polish
I have a whole collection of the P.S I LOVE YOU nail polish range, but currently I am loving the pinks, the light pink and the neon pink being my favs. Light pink for the nails and neon for my toes.
Protect your eyes against the sun's UV rays just make sure that you pick a pair that suits your face shape.

News broke last night that H&M's newest designer collaboration will be with none other than the French fashion house Balmain.
Last night hints of a possible collaboration was made via the twitter pages of Rousteing and his famous friends, in the form of a selfie posted by Kendal Jenner with Rousteing and model Jourdan Dunn at the Billboard Awards with a caption reading "We have some news" and links to Balmain and H&M.
The collection will feature men and women's wear and is expected to hit the stores on the 5th November 2015 in around 250 stores worldwide and online.
Hopefully the collection will have all the high end edgy sophistication of Balmain with a more affordable price tag.
I suggest Balmain fans set there alarm clocks as this collection is likely to sell out quickly
Are you ready for the #HMBALMAINATION?
After seeing pictures of Your Tea pop up on Instagram for the 50th time I decided that I had to see what the fuss was all about. I had to know whether this was just another detox phase people were going through or if it was the real deal. I was kindly gifted some Tiny Tea, Skin Tea and Tea Face, now it was time to start my teatox.
Tiny Tea is a 14 day teatox, which does not contain laxatives and is supposed to help your body by clearing your skin and reducing body fat. If this was all true then it would be just what I, and millions of other women were looking for.
When I opened the super cute packaging to begin my teatox and added water to teabag in my mug, I was afraid of what it would taste like. Would I really be able to stick to it for 14 days if the taste was awful? After making the tea (30 minutes before a meal) I drummed up the courage to have my first sip. To my absolute delight it barely had any taste to it. For the rest of the teatox I added a slice of lemon or a spoon of honey to add to the taste.
Only days after starting the teatox I started to notice my body changing. My skin was indeed clearer, my stomach was now flat and my energy levels were through the roof. I was uncertain of why I had so much energy, was it the sheer excitement of having a flat stomach at long last? Either way Tiny Tea was the reason I was feeling so good.
You can see online that Your Tea has a 14 day eating plan for you stick to while on your teatox. I must admit that I did not stick to the menus everyday but I still look and feel fantastic. Your Tea has various other teas that I’m eager to try. Have a look online and see what teas they have to help you. After I have tried the Skin Tea and the Tea Face which is a scrub made from tea granules and is said to heal scars and even skin tone, I’ll be back to tell you all about it.

So we are not all top notch make-up artist and if you like me, you are always buying new make -up products and before you realise it, your make-up bag is over flowing. So let's make things easier, here are your 8 basic essential to always carry in your make-up bag.
Many women often buy products that;
• where sold to them by an over enthusiastic make-up counter assistant, they buy it and then do not use it
• because they were drawn in by the advertisement on television, because the model looked so good wearing it
We then end up not using any of these products because we do not know how to use correctly
It is time ladies, to go back to the basic, because everything else in our lives are already complicated the last thing we need is to complicate our make- up routine
Carrying these basic essentials with you can make things so much easier and will give you a flawless look for day and night.
Concealer is used to hide your dark under eye circles and the spots on your face
Even out your skin complexion by applying your foundation all over the face, this will balance out your complexion and give you a clear canvas to apply the rest of your make-up
3. Neutral eye shadow
Neutral shades like beige, is easy to use and suits every skin tone and are great for an everyday look
4. Eye liner
A black or brown eye liner is essential or you can also use dark eye shadow along your lash line to enhance your eyes
Defines your eyes by applying it over your lashes to enhance the length of your lashes
As foundation evens out your skin tone, blush ads colour, apply it to your cheeks. Blush comes in a variety of shades so choose the right shade for your skin tone.
• Select a colour that will accent your facial features and will not make you look like a red check clown
• Bright red colours may not look that good if you have a very pale skin. Pale skin try a soft pink colour.
• So depending on your skin tone you will need a lighter or darker colour
When applying it, make a fish face then apply blush to the centre blending it along the cheekbone
We do not all like popping colours so try a nude colour to enhance your natural lip colour
Lipstick like blush adds colour to your face.
Apply to skin to set make-up and for a matte effect, dust lightly using a fluffy powder brush
Declutter your make up bag and let's get back to basic !!

The Natural Hair Week delivers informative seminars from qualified experts, interactive debates, creative hair demos and a platform for hair and beauty brands to sell products and services whilst connecting with their target audience.
The Natural Hair Week was launched in spring 2013 because it was felt that there was a lack of events celebrating natural afro hair and beauty across the UK.
The brainchild of Vinna Best of OfficiallyNatural and Diane Hall of I Grew It Long The Natural Hair Week has since seen over 3,000+ attendees in five major cities in the UK
I had heard good thing from friends that had previously attended The Natural Hair Week so I promised myself that this year I would attend the London event, which was held at the Marriott Hotel in Grosvenor Square.
The venue was very nice and consisted of three large rooms, one of which housed the works shops and seminars while the other two had the many venders which included ORS, Motions to name few as well as product and hair styling demonstrations.
I was disappointed that I was unable to attend most of the seminars due me getting there quite late in the day but people I spoke to told me that they really enjoyed them.
I really enjoyed my experience at Natural Hair Week and I got to meet up with many natural hair bloggers and vloggers who I had been following for some time which was nice.
Photo source: The Natural Hair Week Facebook page
Oh yeah as The Natural Hair Week was sponsored by Hairfinity VIP ticket holders were gifted a bottle of Hairfiinity in the goodie bags (Yesss) along with other hair and beauty samples. Previous sponsors have included: Curls, Lush Cosmetics, KeraCare, Curls, Motions Hair and Design Essentials.

Most adults do not get the recommended eight hours of sleep a night. This can cause havoc with both our bodies and brains. Sleep should be seen as a priority, just like eating everyday. I have found myself tossing and turning unable to sleep recently but I have found two solutions. Sleep star masks and Dream water. The sleep mask enables me to block out any unwanted light at this time of year and I can use it when travelling. This mask combined with my discovery of Dream water work well. If you are over 18, not pregnant, nursing or taking any medication and are having trouble sleeping then this would be perfect for you.
All you need to do is drink a full bottle of Dream water 30 minutes before you go to bed. (Try chilling it in the fridge before drinking). You will then fall into a relaxed state before drifting off to sleep. I have had some of my best nights sleeps when using Dream water and Sleepstar masks. I wake up feeling refreshed and revitalised, ready to take the world on. I would highly recommend them to anyone with sleeping problems.
The mask that I have been using is the deluxe eye mask from Sleepstar. Not only do they do what it written on the packaging by blocking out all the light they are also comfortable, affordable and one size fits all. They even come in an array of colours so you can pick one to match your bedroom décor.

We all get dressed in the morning but there is a difference between dressing up and being a stylish fashionista. A fashionista is like a hunter always on the lookout for what's hot and new to ensure that she is always stylish and fashionable.
Here is a few of my favourite bits to ensure that we all stay stylish and fashionable
The floor length jacket or fine knit is a great way to update your short shorts and crop t-shirt and layering always adds a bit of interest to any look, "I am loving" this knitted dress in rose gold from Missguided
Defiantly my go to look, polished and chic, whether it is for a simple affair or a soiree.
Sexy and stylish all in one!!, look awesome in this, Peonie print cigarette trousers and Bardot style crop top, with loose beach wavy hair a cat eye and red pouty lips.
Look playfully stylish in this structured brocade floral playsuit, sexy, fun and chic!! A structure silhouette for sophisticated elegance. Keep your accessories simple to compliment your look
Futuristic holographic prints like sequins, you do not want to overdo it so pair your item with a neutral staple for effortless style or add it into your look with accessories or a pair of shoes.
Mix it up
Remember you are a fashion hunter so you set the rules so mix it up by combining unusual colour and or prints together and get the looks not just for your good looks but your awesome style
Modern and Vintage mix
Retro fashionista!! Keep you style current by mixing vintage with modern pieces, even if it just a vintage pair of cat-eye sunglasses, a silk scarf or a vintage midi skirt with a leather jacket and sleek pointy-toe heels. Vintage are always in-style and stylish
Remember dressing up is just putting pieces together but being stylish is taking all those element and merging all the right pieces together to bring out the best you. So keep it simple and throw in a large dollop of confidence and most importantly have fun.
3 of my favourite way to ensure healthy glowing skin
No amount of make-up will guarantee healthy skin, the best way to achieve a healthy glow is to take care of your skin. There really is no excuse for bad skin, not when you have a kitchen cupboard full of beauty potential.
Here are 3 of my favourite ways to maintain a healthy natural glow.
Honey and Lemon for brighter skin, apply the mixture with fingers and keep it on skin for 5minutes then wipe off with a flannel cloth and warm water
Benefits of Honey
• unclog pores
• Antibacterial properties, making it a great option for acne-prone skin
• A natural moisturizer and helps to soothes skin for a natural sun-kissed glow
• Honey is also rich in antioxidants, which can help diminish the look of age spots
Benefits of Lemon
The natural AHA in lemons are natural exfoliators, the acids in lemons removes dead skin cells and evens out skin tone. It also is a natural way to diminish oil, freckles, and blackheads.
Lemon & honey sugar scrub
A teaspoon of brown or fine white sugar and a teaspoon honey and lemon juice mix together
Please note: Do not apply scrub under the eye area, only forehead, nose and cheeks.
Helps to get rid of dead skin cells. Exfoliating is important not only for your complexion but the rest of your body as well. Your skin cannot absorb creams and lotions if it has a layer of dead skin cells hanging around. Exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week.
How: Wet your face, and exfoliate very gently, in a circular motion using your fingertips for about 2-3 minutes and rinse off with warm water
I love this little brush, I used it on my skin when I was in Secondary school and loved it. I remember that then it was by Avon, I stopped using it because it went of the market that it is back now.
This one I bought in Primark (Penny's)
It exfoliates, deep cleanse, and removes dirt, oil and make-up. It is easy to use, just wet face, place face wash on the brush and clean skin with circular motion and rinse with warm water. Leaving skin soft and glowing.
Add to all of this a daily intake of H2O and viola naturally healthy glowing skin!!!

Culottes' keeps on making a comeback year after year and this Spring/Summer season they are back in store. This no fuss trend is great for day or night and works for either short or tall girls. It adds shape to tomboy figures and creates the illusion of a small waist.
Culottes are the same shape as an A-line skirt so proportions are important when wearing them.
If you doing a casual look with flat sandals or pumps then go for a slightly longer style.
Image - Primark –Floral Culottes – www.primark.com
Prints are always fun to wear and if you bold enough match the print of your culottes with the same print top and wear it like a one-piece jumpsuit.
Short girls opt for pointed flats which will elongate your leg. Pairing them with stiletto, then choose a pair that is just below your knee creating the illusion of longer legs.
For the Apple shape figure wear your culottes with a crop top, to define and highlight your waist and if you are wearing it to the office go for a longer top or blouse that you can tuck in.
Image @ House of Fraser
A monochromatic look can give the appearance of length, the right pair of culottes can help you to maximize this elongating effect. With black being a popular choice for a monochromatic look because it makes you look taller as well as slimmer. Pair a top and culottes in matching colours for a monochromatic look and wear heels with it to give your extra length.
Image @ House of Fraser
Denim culottes a perfect casual street style outfit paired with a funky t-shirt and a statement necklace.
Image @ www.shopbop.com
Culottes comes in different lengths so make sure that you choose the best length for your legs , its needs to stops mid-calf, giving the appearance that you are wearing a swingy skirt.
If you do not have a pair yet, do not be afraid to get a pair as with the right layering and styling, they can bring out the best in all figure shapes and heights.
This year's much anticipated Chanel Cruise show was held in Seoul, where the fashion house showcased their pre spring/summer 2015-2016 collection. The location of the shoot was the astonishing futuristic Dongdaemun Design Plaza, in South Korea.
The show was astoundingly impressive, right from the colourful pokadot invitations to the catwalk stage. The minimal room contained small colourful stools, which were dotted around at different heights. The show was nothing short of being breathtakingly young and lively. The curves and sweeping designs of the floor were filled with large colourful spots.
The collection was full of wacky and fun colours, contrasting patterns, patchwork, and zigzag stripes. The combination of garments included some tailored concepts, as well as loose fitting dresses and sleeves; the collection was colourful and had an animated quality. Designs also included some signature Chanel looks including the colourfully woven jacket silhouettes and pencil skirt styles, as well as the Chanel flower the – camellia, which was artistically constructed in a pop art fashion.
There were also some exquisitely embellished evening wear designs, which were full of intricate detailing, including some light chiffon fabric beautifully garnished with elaborate small sequin designs.
The models hair and makeup was just as stunning, Sam Knight who was responsible for creating the looks said that: "Karl sent me images, photos and paintings of traditional hairstyles worn by ancient Korean nobility, and we then made 120 and black hair braids from synthetic hair dressed with beeswax to keep it in place" He also added that he moulded it "into different shapes, from cute Minnie Mouse ears to large triple back buns, and traditionally inspired crowns, almost making them into hats which were fastened with clips and combs onto each girl's hair."
The Mini mouse looking hair was also possibly a reflection of the Korean Manga cartoon genre, which brought a bright and spirited feel to the event.
I like to think we will see this trend filtered down into the high street, perhaps with big braided buns, and plaits. The doll like makeup was very wearable too; from bright pink and red lips, to subtle blusher on the apple of the cheeks; (perfect for summer). The brows were outlined creating precise symmetry.
We are also seeing the return of false lashes but in a small micro mini version, in the middle of the bottom lash line. If this look is too daring for some perhaps opt for a thicker mascara look on the outer corners of the bottom lash line, it will add definition as well as making the eyes appear larger.
The Guest List for the event was star-studded as expected, with everyone I'm sure wanting first dibs on the clothing, we saw the likes of Chanel 'It girl' Kristen Stewart, veteran of the catwalk Gisele Bundchen, as well as the very talented British actress Tilda Swinton.
Karl Lagerfeld's vision for the show was truly magnificent, and inspirational.

Sunglasses are there to protect your eyes against the sun's rays, but it is a must fashion accessory as it can take your look from gloomy to stylish and cool. But choosing the wrong pair for your face shape will do nothing for your look.
Heart-Shaped Face: A heart-shaped face has a wide forehead, narrower jaw line, high cheekbones, and a narrow chin. Go for the cat-eye shape as they will accentuate your face shape.
Katy Cateye- available @ accessories.com
The oval face shape: Your face is wider at the mid-point of your cheekbone area right below your eye level, you have a softly rounded jawline. Aviators and wraparounds styles work great as the symmetrical shape works best for your soft curves of your face.
Nikki Aviator @ accessories.com
Oblong face shape: Your face is longer rather than wide, flat cheekbones with a long chin and forehead, can appear oval but with a long vertical line. Wraparound styles looks great on your face also vintage style frames with sharp angles and bold lines will sharpen your soft features.
Anabelle wrap sunglasses @ accessories.com
The round face is almost as wide as it is long, with curving lines rather than hard angles and your jawline is full and round. If your face is wide/big sunglasses with straight or angular lines will lengthen your face. It is best to avoid rounded styles that will accentuate your full cheeks.
Prada Eyewear @sunglasshut.com
The Square-Shaped Faces: Your jawline is square and angular, your cheekbones and forehead are the same width and the width or your jawline is the same as your forehead. Try rounded frames or circular lenses which will soften your angular face. The classic Ray-ban aviator is a great choice for you.
Ray-ban aviators available at sunglasshut.com
Triangle face shape: Your jawline is wider and fuller then your forehead and cheekbones, your face structure narrows at your cheekbones and temples. Your choice of sunglasses should draw attention away from your jawline so pick glasses that adds interest to your forehead with a detail and or colour at the top of the frame.

Coily kinky afro, who does not love a good looking Afro? Your afro can be the envy of all but keeping it looking stunning takes some work. Here is some helpful tips to keep your afro or natural curls in check.
This is the number one tip as natural hair tend to lack moisture, so to avoid dry dull looking hair. Invest in a good moisturising condition.
DIY hair therapy
Keeping your hair well moisturised can be as simple as mixing your own hot oil treatment. For an overnight treatment mix olive oil, coconut oil, and shea butter, melt them all together in the microwave and then massage onto your scalp, then seal your hair, with a shower cap and cover with your head scarf. Wash it out the next morning for moisturised and smooth, frizz-free curls.
Drying your hair:
Squeeze-dry your hair with a t-shirt or microfiber towel as this will decrease frizz. Then detangle with your fingers as this will help keep your hair texture without interrupting your curl pattern.
Use a silk pillowcase or silk scarf to avoid frizz and keep your curls in place

A big congratulations to Jacqueline Shaw and the rest of the Africa Fashion Guide team for organising this event. As a designer, I definitely left being more informed, more connected to the industry and more inspired to take my fashion brand, 'Keji Victoria', to new heights. Every guest panelist gave a unique and seasoned insight into the Africa Fashion industry. Enjoy my highlights below!
*Please note that all content including those in speech bubbles have been paraphrased for the purpose of this blogger platform.
Highlights of the Africa Fashion Conference
African Fashion Market
This segment of the conference was insightful in highlighting the highs and lows of the African fashion scene as a whole, and the individual businesses within it. The panel of guest speakers celebrated the opportunities that fashion players have to showcase their businesses. For example, Lagos and Johannesburg Fashion Weeks are quite large in scale, and a great way to showcase national and international talent. However, the scheduling of these Fashion Weeks could be more organised and structured-perhaps parallel to the existing international shows.
'The Africa Fashion Market' section at the #FAConf2015
Beatrace Oola, the Founder and Managing Director of Africa Fashion Day Berlin (AFDB), shared why such opportunities for designers, buyers and sellers to meet and network are created. By bringing different aspects of the supply chain together, the Africa fashion scene can begin birthing reliable and sustainable production and selling structures. Buyers or sellers who are committed to attending and making transactions at trade shows such as 'Premium Berlin', will be treated with respect in the industry, which will translate into committed clients and services in the long term.
Sustainability and environmentally aware designers are definitely the future of Africa fashion. Abrima Erwiah, co-founder of Studio 189, shared an insight into her business vision. 'It's not just about trends, it's about quality. We focus on the local artisans and the supply chain contributing to the quality of every item'. She went on to give some business advice- 'don't try to do everything by yourself; focus on your strengths and collaborate with others who possess things that will compliment yours'.
Rosario Dawson, co-founder of Studio 189 along with a remarkably diverse portfolio, added, 'take time to work on what you have. As a designer, do the ground work and emphasise on quality. Presentation is key, and the story that goes behind your work is equally important and interesting'.
Samson Soboye, owner of Fashion and Lifestyle store, Soboye, gave a refreshing aspect to the consumer-side of the fashion industry: 'the visuals, image, and quality of garments are the foremost important things when selling to consumers. Before the consumer hears the story behind any work, they would have made up their minds on whether they like it or not, based on the above criteria.' Soboye left us with thoughts to ponder on; 'A business is not a business without money! What infrastructure do we have? Are there resources to get to the next level? Is it sustainable in the long term?'
Africa is Open for Business
This segment gave great insight into how far Africa has come in being receptive to the Fashion business, and whether fashion players still experience barriers to building successful businesses. The host, Hannah Pool of The Guardian Newspaper, asked the guest panellists what they believed to be the key challenges in doing business in Africa;
Jordine Bartlett, of Financial Times Lifestyle, stated that, 'time is of the essence! Working to time is needed, so that we can be recognised and respected on a global scale'.
Sindiso Khumalo, brand owner and Creative Director of Sindiso Khumalo, added that time and quality control may be lacking in certain places. She advised the need to invest resources and time in the actual market of operation. Some people spend little time studying and investing into their market- which can be the reason why quality is lacking.
Yemisi Makualu, of Hatch Africa, went on to emphasise that African consumers may lack patience. Most of these consumers want to make quick money. Business takes time, and sometimes it's not just about putting something out, but about investing in the right places.
Networking at the #FAConf2015
Sourcing From Africa
The final segment I attended focused on the supply chain within the industry.
One of the questions asked by host, Abi Rushton, of Aid by Trade Foundation, was 'what determines your sourcing decisions?'
Daphne Kasambala, owner of Sapelle, shared that having a network of people all over Africa helps because there is little budget to physically travel and meet with different suppliers. She went on to say that Kenya has great potential for sourcing, drive and the curiosity to create from raw/local materials. They are good at taking things from their raw state and recreating something unique.
Paola Masperia, owner of Mayamiko, said that her company is committed to sourcing locally, 'which means we can't always source all the fabrics we wish for. But we are contributing to the local economy....' She highlighted that the trading agreements need to greatly improve in Africa. For example, it's easier to trade and supply fabric around Europe due to the existing trading blocs; but this proves very challenging between African countries.
Another question was put through the the panelists; 'how do small businesses find cost-effective ways to produce in small quantities?'
Paola: 'there are great initiatives available so that you can collaborate with other designers and businesses when ordering to off-set extremely high costs. Otherwise, focus on your chosen market and customers for your collection'. Paola noted that focusing on your consumers allows you to order according to demand- which may be for a short term basis.
Daphne: 'diversify your portfolio, search for different manufacturers so you are not limited to one way and terms of production'
Madeleine Rosberg, of Responsibly Africa, also added that 'some African markets are open to small businesses- such as Kenya, Ethopia, Uganda, etc. In such places it is easier to find the right manufacturer who can produce the smaller quantities you desire. It's about searching for the right manufacturer.'

Beauty takes time but when the weather is steaming outside you do not want to layer on foundation. You want coverage that is light and weightless but give enough coverage
My star buy is Dior Skin Star foundation
Brightening weightless long-wear foundation with SPF 30
This foundation felt like a second skin, it is so light and weightless I almost forgot that I had foundation on my skin. I like light coverage but for those that like a heavy coverage, you can build it up to give you the coverage you need.
My other favourite are;
Revlon's Nearly Naked, this foundation literally melts into your skin the moment you put it on and stay's on all day, you hardly feel it on your skin so light is it. It works in harmony with your skin to cover flaws and perfect tone and texture. Formulated with weightless pigments that melts right into the skin and creates a beautiful even complexion. Available in the lightest tone – Ivory to darkest tone Cappuccino
Revlon BB Cream
This is a lightweight Beauty Balm that combines skincare, makeup, and sunscreen all in one. It hydrates your skin just like a moisturizer, protects against the sun with SPF 30. Smooth's out the skin like a primer and covers like a foundation. Available in Light, light-medium and medium
I love the beautiful glow and colour this BB Cream gives and as the above foundations I hardly feel it on my skin.
Sleek CC Cream
As skin tends to be more oiler in warmer weather the Sleek CC cream is great for oily skin as it matte's out shine and corrects complexion and conceals imperfections. Available in Light, Fair, Medium and Dark
Do not forget your basic essentials;
1) Make sure that you match the right colour for your skin tone
2) Prepare your skin with a good moisturiser
3) Primer – for smooth application
4) Your tools – foundation brush, wedges or blending sponge
Over the Bank Holiday weekend i went along to Be:Fit London, the only women's fitness show in town!
I'm not exactly a health freak but i have been in the Gym recently trying to get sexy for the summer so I figured it worth coming down to see if I could get some tips.
I attended Be:fit London last year but other than that i am a Fitness expo virgin so i didn't know what to expect.
Last year I had a blast but the only complaint i had was there wasn't as much venders as I expected and the venue was kind of small (Even if it was nice to be by the river). That wouldn't be an issue this year as Be:fit was now in a new location the Design and Business centre; and I am happy to say there was loads of different brands to meet, as well as a wide range of fitness classes to join in, expert talks, cooking demos, etc.
I loved that there was also dedicated chill-out areas, where you could go hang out and regroup when it gets a bit too over whelming.
In all I had a lovely time but I wish I allowed myself more time there as there was so much to see, taste, and demo.
Did you get to attend Be:fit London over the weekend?
What were your thoughts?
"China through the looking glass" the theme for this year's MET Gala, with superstars all dressing to complement the theme the art show was just as much inside the museum as on the red carpet.
There was a lot of great looks but my favourite was supermodel Joan Small's, with her off the shoulder purple floral applique Robert Cavalli gown. The sheer cut-outs showing just enough skin, for added sexiness. Pulling it all together with a simple yet stylish black choker and black strappy leather sandals.
Complimenting her stunning look with a purple Smokey and nude lip, a blend of Estee Lauder's Pure Colour Gelée powder eyeshadow in Cyber Magenta and Pure Colour Envy Eyeshadow Palette in Currant Desire
