Everyone wants their skin glowing in summer. It’s just one of those things that no one talks about, but everyone craves.

Glow-y skin is healthy skin, especially in summer when we’re out in the sun a lot and it’s more likely we don’t pay as much attention to it as we probably should.

Having said that, I totally understand it’s more fun to lie by the pool, cocktail in hand and get those vitamin D rays you don’t get in autumn and winter; however, I want to help you look youthful and healthy. For that, your skin needs to glow and here we’ll discuss the best tips to get amazing skin this summer.

Are you ready for glowing, natural skin? Let’s do this!

These are 10 effective tips to get your skin glowing this summer:

1. Daily Facial Wash

If you truly thought you had a pass in summer and you didn’t have to wash your face, you’re wrong. After a long day, your face needs a gentle wash. Whether you wash it with just cold water, or you add a cleanser you love, it’s up to you, but you need to wash it at least once, when you arrive home.

2. Scrub, Scrubbity, Scrub

After washing your face, do a nice exfoliation to your skin – once a week works great. It’s important that you remove dead cells off your face and let it breathe. Especially after some time in the sun, you want to gently exfoliate all the impurities that got on your skin.

3. A Face Peel

We all need a little something every once in a while, and this summer I’m encouraging you to go get a peel done at a cosmetic centre. A face and neck peel is amazing to get deep into your skin and to help it regenerate and get smoother. It’s incredible how one of these makes you feel, and you deserve to be pampered.

4. Use Serums

Using serums helps your skin after a drying day outside. In summer, try a vitamin C serum, which is an antioxidant and it will help you with getting your glow back. Just keep in mind that vitamin C makes your skin sensitive to the sun, so be careful and always use it at night before bed.

 5. Use Sunscreen!

I really don’t have to be telling you this, but the secret to healthy skin starts with sunscreen. It never fails. Protecting yourself is extremely important in the summer because sunrays can be very damaging, so never forget to apply sunscreen before leaving the house!

6. Add Highlighter

Nah-uh, not just highlighter. I want you to add highlighter drops to your moisturiser or your foundation/CC cream. This is a tip for when you’ve just finished reading this and you can’t automatically have glowing skin overnight, even when following every single one of these tips, so just add some highlighting drops to your moisturiser and you’ll be looking as healthy and natural as ever!

7. Minimal Make-Up

You don’t need a full face of make-up in summer. You shouldn’t even want one. You’ll probably be sweating at some point and, sweat and make-up are not the best of friends. Moreover, less is more, especially when wanting the glowing look. Go for a light BB cream, a tainted lip balm, some mascara and mist your face in the end. I promise you’ll feel beautiful and lovely.

8. 60% of Water

Yes, our body already is 60% water but that doesn’t mean you don’t need to keep yourself hydrated every day. Drink enough water throughout the day and not only when you feel thirsty. Water helps with inflammation and with clearing out your skin, so start there.

9. Misting for Resisting

The sun! I love keeping a little face mist in my bag and will carry it around with me no matter where I’m going. Face mists are a Godsend! Whenever I feel a little sweaty or that my skin is really dry, I give it a few spritzes, and I feel as good as new! For an extra glow, I use one that has reflective particles and makes my skin dewy and beautiful.

10. Aloe Vera is Your New BFF

Aloe Vera is there for your skin, no matter the season. It is healing and nourishing and really helps your skin look healthy in summer. You can do a mask with it once or twice a week, or just rub it against your skin. If you want to go for the mask, add 1 tablespoon of aloe vera to 1 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of milk; mix it all together and apply it to your face and neck. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. I promise you it’s the best mask to use after a day at the beach. Try out one or all of these tips and you’ll be sure to end up feeling glow-ier than ever! Your skin will thank you for the extra care and you’ll leave summer and enter autumn with a much better foundation for dry weather.
