Solid blocks of contrasting non-colours – black and white – and a bold thunder of magenta define the silhouette of a newly discovered self with the taste of Old Hollywood glamour. Audacious slits reveal a smoothly full-bloomed body without showing too much; a cascade of golden threads evokes an opulence worn with a noble spirit. The 'her' portrayed in this editorial by photographer Shola Ajisegbede has truly found her meaning and place in this world. She manifests herself without asking for approval.
