The Ultimate Spring Selection Trend Guide

The fashion world is always ahead of us, and there is a good reason for it. The spring and summer collections have been showcased during September and early October, and we're thankful for the early notice. It gives us plenty of time to summarize our impressions, narrow down our choices, and it gives fast fashion retailers plenty of time to provide their own interpretations of the predicted and dictated trends so they're available to a broader audience just in time for them to rock them.

So, here it is, the list of the best and most wearable trends for you to pick and choose from and welcome spring the way it's supposed to be done.

50 Shades Of Purple

Millennial pink has in the past couple of years been one of the most dominant hues out there, present in both couture gowns as well as athleisure pieces. While the presence of the gender-neutral hue was still strong on the runways, it has been slightly overshadowed by the presence of a variety of purples. So, this spring, take a cue from Carolina Herrera, and rock the dark and powerful purple, Ultra Violet - the official color of the year 2018, as well as lighter pastel hues such as lilac. The romantic and subtle lilac will make you look like walking spring, and you can wear it deep into summer, even be the ultimate resort style goddess.

If You Like It, Flaunt It

If you were saddened by the death of the logo, feel free to rejoice, because logomania is definitely back. It seems as if the logo wasn't dead so much as it was taking a nap while designers were preparing to make it bigger and more conspicuous. Every fashion powerhouse, from Gucci, Fendi to Versace did not hold back on splashing the logo all over tops, bags, dresses, so all you have to do is find your favorite brand and surely find at least one item with your beloved logo on it. When worn in an ensemble that's overall understated and low-key, the logo can look incredibly cool, chic even.

A Little Asymmetrical Party

Spotted at Altuzarra, Isabel Marant and numerous other designers, the asymmetrical neckline is definitely the most captivating trend. The fabric seems to be everywhere - the neck, the collarbone, the shoulders, and yet still leaving plenty of skin exposed for an additional dose of sensuality. Both tops and dresses with this neckline are already available, and Aussie girls have already snagged their asymmetrical party dresses in Australia, and they're rocking them while it's still summer, but northern hemisphere, worry not, your time to shine is just arriving.

The Shifty Times

As much as we anticipate the arrival of spring, we must bear in mind that the season can play tricks on us and bring sudden chills leaving us in dire need of great outerwear. The piece to own this season is an oldie but goldie - the mighty trench coat. If you already own one in a neutral camel hue, make sure it's dry-cleaned and ready for those chilly spring days. Those of you whose wardrobe is short of this item, better hop to it, and while you're browsing, you might want to check the upgraded 2018 version which can be embroidered, or even deconstructed as seen on the models walking for Alexander McQueen.

Power Up

Power up, suit up - the point is the same. We already know that the power suit of the fall and winter of 2017 was either red or plaid, as these were the dominant color and pattern of the season, respectively. The plaid and red will still be worn during spring, make no mistake about it, but if you wish to be the epitome of spring power, your choice of suit will be a poignant white, complete with a wide-shoulder blazer as done by Tom Ford, because nothing says 'powerful' like shoulders that just don't quit.
