Escapes - Burberry AW21 Menswear
The Burberry Autumn/Winter 2021 menswear collection by Riccardo Tisci honours a deep connection to the outdoors, creativity and dreams. The digital presentation of the collection explores a new environment within Burberry’s flagship Regent Street store in London as the space is reconfigured into a wandering terrain.
This menswear collection gently challenges and subtly reinvents traditions, inviting freedom of expression. The collection itself is dynamic and young, vibrant and alive. Outerwear is key and clothes are engineered to reflect motion and activity – with pleats, panels and fringes – as if moving in the wind. Layered pieces morph unexpectedly on the body. Tailoring has a sense of twisted classicism, whilst Burberry’s quintessential icons, the trench coat and Burberry beige, are evolved.
“This collection pays homage to the relationship between humanity and nature, where we can break free and come together to discover new forms of expression. It’s for those who are defining their own path, whose strength and energy have inspired this Burberry collection.” Says Riccardo Tisci, Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer.
The Burberry animal kingdom, another signature house code, is once again revisited through prints and shapes – a nod to the wilderness and the creatures within. Deer motifs inspire the silhouettes of knitted beanies, whilst boots and sneakers on moulded soles are also sculpted to resemble hooves. The collection’s distinct palette is tonal and rich, including Burberry beige, bark brown, oxblood burgundy, city greys and shirting shades of pale blue and pink. Details and decoration evoke the notion of ceremony through badges and adornments – symbolising community and friendship, codes of belonging.
The presentation location itself has a rich history of supporting craftsmanship and artistic expression: historically, 121 Regent Street was the site of an eminent gallery with its inaugural exhibition dedicated to arts and crafts. Today, this legacy is honoured, as the menswear collection is exhibited through a modern presentation in this same environment.
Tied intrinsically to founder Thomas Burberry’s creations, the idea of optimism and adventure underscores the collection. Modern explorers, pioneers and trailblazers are an inspiration; the garments have a function and purpose. They represent a reality but they are always worn by dreamers.
Riccardo Tisci states;
“For my first Burberry menswear-focused collection, I wanted to celebrate the freedom of expression. Enclosed indoors, I dreamt of the outdoors and its beauty, fuelled by the thought of the creativity that comes when we are together. With this dream in mind, I became fascinated by the widespread British craft and outdoor movements of the early 20th Century, when people escaped to explore the unknown countryside. They formed communities with a deep respect for nature and the outdoors and looked forward to a future full of possibility. I was not only drawn to the artistry of their craft, colours and shapes, but also to their strong sense of camaraderie and friendship.”

Generally, men wear less jewellery that women but an elegant gentleman cannot go without cufflinks. They have a practical function, as they are used to secure cuffs. At first, it might be tricky to put on cufflinks but they are an accessory you cannot wear a dress shirt without. Ideally, keep the visible cuff length matched with the amount of collar visible around the neck.

Elegance is not something a man is born with but rather something we learn as we grow older and wiser. Therefore, the 9 fashion tips listed above are compulsory reading for every modern man aspiring to be a true gentleman!
The Complete Guide to Men's Accessories
Although finding the perfect details to finish off an outfit isn’t something most men tend to think about, the right accessory can truly be your best friend. Apart from providing you with subtle, stylish touches that easily tie your whole look together, accessories can also highlight your individuality and personal style, helping you stand out from the crowd.

From headwear to jewellery and tasteful details, here is a complete guide to men’s accessories that will help you elevate your personal style.
Although there are a wide variety of different styles available today, a good hat can add elegance and flavour to any outfit, helping you look stylish and put-together effortlessly. For example, a trendy snapback can easily upgrade a casual t-shirt and jeans combo, a newsboy cap can add some interest to a business casual look, while a fedora paired with an elegant suit helps you achieve that classy gentleman vibe. No matter which style you opt for, make sure that the hat you choose complements your outfit beautifully, and ties the whole look together.
Sunglasses

Taking inspiration from some of the coolest Hollywood dads, the right pair of sunglasses is the ideal accessory to upgrade any outfit, no matter how plain, and make you look that much more stylish and refined. While finding the perfect sunglasses for you might be difficult with such a wide array of options, you can never go wrong with a classic style, such as aviators or clubmasters, in neutral colours like black and brown, as these shades can truly stand the test of time, helping you look incredibly fashionable with minimal effort.
Watches
Not only does a good watch make a powerful statement, but it is also the perfect way to elevate any outfit, and add some class and style to a man’s look. From dress watches that are ideal for formal occasions to casual watches you can complement your looks with every day, there a number of watches you can choose from to find the ideal one for you. But regardless of your personal style, the one thing every man should own are elegant Swiss watches, as their sleek look and timeless design make them suitable for any occasion, while always making you look polished and refined.
Jewellery

Being the most noticeable piece of jewellery you can wear, the necklace you choose is incredibly important. Whether it is a dainty metal chain with a sentimental pendant or something as classic as a dog tag, make sure your necklace is a reflection of your personality. Apart from bands representing special events, rings can also be a great way of expressing your style, whether you wear them individually or stacked them for an impacting look. Although mostly worn by men with alternative styles, bracelets are perfect for complementing casual outfits as well, from small metal ones to eye-catching canvas and leather bands. The general style rule for wearing a bracelet is wearing it on the opposite wrist to your watch. However, fashion follows no rule and when it comes to wearing jewellery, taking your personal style into consideration can help you decide how bold or minimal you would like to go with your accessories. Men’s bracelets can be styled as a stack next to their watch, some might prefer the classic minimal look opposing their watch.
Belts
Matching your belt with the colour of your shoes is an essential rule that shouldn’t be broken when it comes to professional and formal attire. But apart from a sleek black or brown leather belt that is most appropriate for these types of occasions, casual outfits can give you much more options to express your personal taste and style. Whether you opt for a leather or a canvas belt, you can easily add a bit more interest and dynamic to your everyday looks by choosing a colour that perfectly complements the colour palette of your outfit.
Socks

Although it might not be the first accessory that comes to mind, socks are a great way to express your personal style, and they have even become a prominent fashion trend in the last few years. If you have a more minimalist aesthetic, you can always choose a solid, neutral pair, but don’t be afraid to experiment with a bit of colour and print every once in a while. Simply pairing a plain, casual outfit with socks in bright colours or funky patterns, such as stripes and polka dots, can add some fun and interest to your everyday looks.
Regardless of which accessories you opt for, keep in mind that less is always more. Stick to one or two statement pieces to elevate your outfits, and you will always look like a chic, fashionable and refined man.
Upgrade Your Closet with 5 Essential Items for Men
Fashion trends come and go and can be really fun for a while. Everyone wants to wear the ‘it’ style but after some time, something new comes around and the cycle starts again. There is nothing bad in that, fashion is supposed to be fun.
Sometimes people don’t want something that’s just fun but also sustainable and consequently, there has been a rise in the minimalist lifestyle. Whether it comes to clothes, stuff you own around the house, sometimes it’s best to only have the minimum. That way everything becomes a little clearer.
This is a list of 5 essential items that will help you be stylish on any occasion. A birthday party, engagement party or a joyful Christmas office party, these clothing items won’t let you down.
Leather Briefcase
Every busy man needs to put all of his essential items in one place. There are simply never enough pockets for everything. Phones are getting bigger than ever, so many of them can’t even fit into a pocket. Cargo pants are a good choice for putting everything in one place, but they aren't suitable for every occasion.
So the best thing you can do to resolve this irritating problem is to invest in a high-quality bag. Briefcases, handbags or messenger bags are all very stylish and will make you look more put together. It’s greatly recommended to invest in a high-quality leather bag because they are very sustainable, look professional, elegant and will last you for decades. If you want to achieve this kind of elegance Got Briefcase has wonderful high-quality leather bags for men!
A Chambray Shirt

Chambray shirts are the perfect blend of professional meets casual. It has been said multiple times that chambray is a cousin to denim. They do have similar shades of blue like indigo, but chambray shirts differ in many ways. They are made usually from cotton, linen or cotton/linen blends and can come in a variety of colors.
Chambray shirts are very soft and smooth to the touch and breathable. You can wear them in any kind of weather and on any occasion. You can style them with a formal suit. A chambray shirt will do good as any other button-down shirt.
Chambray shirts can be styled in a quirky kind of way, where you can wear jeans, a blazer, a tie, some silly socks, and dress shoes. Everything is set but those silly socks show your fun side! Without them, it would just be a great put together outfit!
Casual Chinos

Jeans are all over the place, and it seems as though every single person on the planet has at least one pair. They are pretty casual and you can style them with almost anything. The thing is, they can get really boring and if you’re tired of wearing the same old jeans day in and day out, you should invest in a pair of casual chinos.
Like chambray being the cousin of denim, chinos are the cousin to jeans. You can style them in absolutely any way, formal or casual, they will do the perfect job. You can treat them like denim jeans, so if you want to style them with a flannel shirt, go for it! If you want to style it with a navy blue blazer go for it! The difference between casual and formal chinos is in pockets, flat-felled seams and standard hem.
Chelsea Boots

The past couple of years have been a game-changer for Chelsea boots. Like the rest of the list, they have become an all-time favorite for every occasion. Surely you won’t go hiking in them but everything else should be considered. Some men just aren’t comfortable in dress shoes, they feel too formal or just don’t like the way they look.
These boots are not only easy to put on but also really badass looking. As it was mentioned before you can style them in almost any way you like. When do you think about Chelsea boots what first pops into your mind? In the past Chelsea boots became the staple for badass men riding motorcycles and being just so cool. Maybe these boots will help you get the same feeling.
Hats

A lot of men tend to forget about all of the options they have when it comes to hats. Fedoras aren’t the only thing you can wear. And besides who says they aren’t cool anymore? Overused maybe, but certainly fun to wear. Depending on the occasion you can choose from a variety of different hats. Beanies are perfect for Autumn and Winter. They are casual when you need something to protect your head from the cold wind.
Ascot caps can really channel your inner Sherlock Holmes. Just think about the BBC’s Sherlock Holmes series starring Benedict Cumberbatch - he’s smart, cynical, cool and occasionally wears ascot caps. Flat caps can also bring your inner Sherlock out for everyone to see. Greek Fisherman hats have been very popular among ladies these days, but they are also made for men. Why not give it a try?
Conclusion
Hopefully, this list has given you an insight into how you can style your clothes in a fun way. The key, of course, is to find items of clothing that will serve you and your wardrobe whatever the occasion. All the clothing items above are casual but elegant, super comfortable and will meet all of your needs!
