‘Straight Out Of The City Via The Motherland.’

Elizabeth Akingbade who is a British/Nigerian designer with her own fashion label named ‘Yemzi’ presents us with a 13-piece collection for Spring/Summer called ‘Gold Label’. The clothes are sporty with a print effect. Elizabeth the designer studied Surface Design at The University of the Arts and gets her inspiration from both of her backgrounds, the Nigerian culture in the 90’s and England’s Bournemouth.

The ‘Gold Label’ ladies wear collection has various items to choose from like scarves, bomber jackets, bra tops and maxi dresses. You will have no trouble putting together an outfit with what ‘Yemzi’ has to offer. All of the collection is made from luxurious fabrics featuring the most wonderful prints. They are printed with digital textile designs that come from Elizabeth’s own acrylic paintings. Is there no end to her talent?

What is the nice about the collection is that we can feel just how personal it is to the designer. Items are available in ice blue, tangerine and emerald colours all of which go back to her inspiration, the tropical animal skins and their natural environment. The brand is made for women who are comfortable in their own skin and who are cultivated. Women who are unique and love to experiment with new textiles and colours as this makes them feel attractive.

Elizabeth is an alumni of The University of The Arts and takes precision and attention to detail seriously. All clothing produced is ethically manufactured so that no harm will come to people or the environment that they live in. ‘Straight Out Of The City Via The Motherland’ prices range from 25-310 pounds and are available at www.yemzi.com
