Their day to day, high-end ready to wear fashion design is cool, raw, relevant and effortless. It came from the understanding that there was a shift happening in the definition of high luxury, especially for a younger consumer market. The M’A brand immediately became one that, more than anything, revolves around its people and community.
For their AW21 collection, M’A has collaborated with Cape-Verdean/Portugese singer, song writer and rapper Nenny to produce their film, which is more of an introduction, than a Fashion Show of the collection of clothing itself.
The collection is a big step towards M’A fulfilling their Environmental and Social Responsibility Manifesto, which is to ‘Be a platform for positive change’ The clothing is all locally made and the processes used in the making of them is ethically balanced in as many ways as possible. From Dyeing fabrics with waste, Denim made of up-cycled cotton, using fabrics with biodegradable fibres, and never using petroleum fibres.
M’A also work hard to fight the fashion culture of over production, by only making and producing items as they are ordered.
