“Sisters are doin’ it for themselves!”
Dior is all about sisterhood with this seasons collection and the newest campaign embraces the power of women’s empowerment.
The ensemble of ponchos, kilts and jackets made from a yellow tartan pattern was originally streamed online in December. However, Dior’s latest runway show for Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Pre-fall 2022 Women’s prêt-à-porter collection took place on the grounds of Ewha Womans University. The picturesque grounds belong to a private women’s University in Seoul, which is one of the world’s biggest female educational institutions.
Dior has also partnered with Ewha as part of the Women@Dior mentoring program, launched in 2017. By introducing educational programmes and events, Dior hopes to inspire and nurture future leaders. As well as promote gender equality within the community.
The show in Seoul was one for the books as “It marks only the second time Dior is presenting its women’s pre-fall line on the runway, following an event in Shanghai last year, and comes as the house is ramping up its schedule of physical displays. In May, it plans to stage its first runway show for the men’s spring line, which is also a pre-collection, in Los Angeles.”
So keep an eye out this month for more things Dior.
