Mishu Shrestha brought her fashion ideal at the London Fashion Week with her 'Himalayan Chic' S/S23 collection and the beauty of sustainable making.
Emerging out of Covid pandemic, designer Mishu Shrestha wants her customer to focus on the beauty of life and humanity. Giving back is key and culture preservation through textile craftsmanship is what is driving the brand MISHUS forward into the future, with the aim to touch global audiences with a unique take on 'Himalayan Chic'.
About the Collection: Himalayan Chic S/S23
The first international ready-to-wear collection imagined and brought to the London Fashion Week catwalk by MISHUS is inspired by silhouettes of leaves, traditional Nepalese weaving patterns and motives. The designs are simple yet exquisitely crafted using sustainably sourced.
About the Designer: Mishu Shrestha
Multifaceted, dynamic, determined. Mishu Shrestha is a Nepalese businesswoman, industrialist and fashion designer based in Kathmandu. She has over two decades of work experience in the manufacturing and hospitality industries in Nepal. She is actively involved in her own manufacturing businesses of high-end cashmere products and hand-knotted carpets. She is the current Director of the board Radisson Hotel Kathmandu and Soorya Group. Passionate about fashion, she always envisioned becoming one of the most successful fashion designers in Nepal. After completing her fashion-designing course at Milan Fashion Campus, Italy in May 2012, she established her own fashion brand 'MISHUS' which was launched officially on November 22, 2012. The brand specialises in women's cashmere lines, evening and bridalwear. Since then, she has pursued a career in fashion design to improve the fashion industry of Nepal. She is also the Creative Director of the label Anna Rohn, Germany.
About MISHUS and Sustainability
MISHUS pieces are created from refined cashmere, a mixture of cashmere and Nepalese silk, hand-woven silk, georgette silk, and eco-responsible denim which contains 35% viscose sourced from Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), the first fully integrated viscose producer in Asia from sustainable plantation to fashion. All MISHUS cashmere and silk fabrics are handwoven, handcrafted with Swarovski and threads embellished against vibrant Spring and Summer colours.
