As London Fashion Week embraced new sustainability requirements for the Autumn/Winter 2025 schedule, Taiwanese designer RAY CHU returned to the Capital for the fourth time to highlight the resilience of natural forms and the application of sustainable fabrics.
About The Eternal Resilience of Blue Cypress: The Concept
RAY CHU's Autumn/Winter 2025 collection draws inspiration from the Blue Cypress tree, a symbol of resilience, strength, and unwavering determination. These attributes also tie into the meaning of his Chinese name – "Po", which also means "cypress" – transforming this collection into a statement about personal heritage.

Always true to his inspiration, RAY CHU’s A/W25 collection incorporates innovative sustainable fabrics from Taiwan, expressing in this way the lasting beauty of the natural world.
Taiwanese fabric companies stand at the forefront of textile innovation, with designers like RAY CHU "RAY CHU using these original textiles. In addition to the fabric technology used in previous RAY CHU collections, "The Eternal Resilience of Blue Cypress" features Taiwanese SECAO fibre, supplied by Grandetex and developed using the waste husk of the raw cacao plant. RAY CHU also integrated water chestnut shell charcoal yarn, a unique, sustainable fabric technology created by Everest Textile Co. Ltd., in some key pieces of this collection.
RAY CHU continues to apply 3D printing techniques to create sculptural pieces that mimic the intricate structure and organic flow of the Blue Cypress tree. This collection has CHU’s signature style woven throughout, seen in the sequin pinstripes, colourful vegan leather, and playful co-ords; while simultaneously elevating the brand with refined silhouettes and carefully tailored suiting.
The Autumn/Winter 2025 collection presented at London Fashion Week embarks on an enhanced maturity for the designer.
