For just a touch of red, add a red necklace, like the red Martha rubber coated ridge necklace from Oliver Bonas. To make it pop wear it with something blue, like a polo neck jumper, like the Serena polo neck jumper from Oliver Bonas. Just a side note; when mixing bold colours together, keep the lines simple to add to the elegance.

Floral Fantastic

floral fantastic

Floral prints, are a classic pattern and a stable in so many of our wardrobes. And as in nature it heralds the coming of Spring when flowers are in bloom and our senses are tantalise with beautiful smells and colour. So this coming Spring season whether it is daisies or roses make your floral tribute a memorable one!!
Flower designs range from dainty and delicate to big and bold, each kind carrying its own personality and character. Choose a pattern that works with your personal taste and style.

Do not pile on accessories when wearing striking prints as you want the print to shine.

Smaller and dainty prints can bring a feminine and romantic touch to a day or evening look.

If you want to make a statement then choose pieces with larger flowers, bright colors, vibrant designs and eye-catching details.

For a slimming effect opt for dresses with flowers going down the center as this will draw the eye in, creating a slimming illusion.

Floral prints typically come in multiple colors, giving you plenty of styling possibilities. So when pairing items, wear clothing in coordinating colors to create a cohesive look. This also gives you the option of creating different looks with just one item. So pay attention to the pattern's colors, and choose one or two, then work around it when pairing items.

Floral prints also look good with solid neutral shades. These colors include black, white, gray, taupe, ivory and beige. Pairing with neutrals are great if pairing with solid colors are too daunting for you and also if you do not want to pair pieces with any of the colors found in the actual print.

It is also easier to pair floral prints with neutrals, when you are not sure what to wear, but would like to add florals to your ensemble.

Floral accessories can add instant style and are one the simplest and easiest ways to introduce prints/ patterns to your wardrobe. Even just one accessory is enough to brighten up an otherwise plain outfit.

Larger items such as tote bags, hats and scarves can add major color to a look. Jewelry and belts brings a light dose of floral fun to any day look. So invest in a few flower patterned accessories, because you will never know when your outfit will need a little extra floral lift.

How To Wear Flare Denim

How to wearFlare Denim

Nothing says casual-chic like a pair of flared jeans, so goodbye to skinny jeans. This 70’s flashback is all about a casual retro trend.

flare denim1

Wear a heel with your flares:

The flare shape elongates your legs and a heel will take that illusion one step further. As well as minimize the risk of a bunched up hem.

flare denim2

Flare denims available @ Miss Selfridge, Jacket New Look, Shoe@ Dune, bag@ Dune and Cami @Very

A perfect hem:

With flares it is all about the hem. Go for a pair with a slightly longer length than the rest of the trousers in your wardrobe.

Opt for a high- waisted silhouette:

This is the most flattering fit, because any trousers that sits higher on the hips will enhance the leg-lengthening affect and give you a curvy silhouette. Add a belt for a more defined waist.

How To Wear A Poncho

How

Coats, jackets and hoodies are the common layers we throw on once the temperature start to drop. But the poncho has become the latest piece of layering to keep us warm and on trend.

littlewoodsireland 651411900212091

Available @ www.littlewoods.ie

It work well with nearly everything in your wardrobe. Poncho’s can be tailored for a chic formal and or professional style or bohemian in chunky knits, colourful patterns, Aztec prints and or tassels and fringes.

Although poncho’s can appear to be an easy item to wear, it’s important that you choose a poncho that fits your frame. Make sure that it is not too small or to big but that it fits your frame, otherwise you will drown in it.

Necklines such as cowl neck, turtleneck, V-neck, scoop-neck, crew-neck, and boat neck are great as they frame your face and upper body. Whereas boat necks and crew necks tend to make the chest and shoulders look wider, but are perfect if you have narrow shoulders or a small bust V-necks especially are good for women with broad shoulders or a large bust, as it has a slimming effect. If you have a longer neck, go for a turtleneck that has a shortening effect through the neck and face.

primarkuk 81132390739432

Available @ www.primark.com

If you want to elongate your frame opt for a ponchos that falls, no lower than two centimetres above your knee.

Petite ladies should be aware of long ponchos as they will overwhelm your petite frame.

To balance out your silhouette, choose bottoms that have a slim fit, especially if you are top-heavy.

houseoffraser 63782018627023

Available @ www.houseoffraser.co.uk

Wear your poncho with slim-fitting trousers, skinny jeans, leggings, pencil skirts, and slim-fitting miniskirts paired with knee-high boots, ankle boots, and high heels for a chic look.

Go for interesting prints like plaids, Aztec designs, and subtle patterns, as long as the colour is subtle and the print is not too large.

Available @ www.very.co.uk

But remember when wearing a patterned poncho, keep the rest of your look simple.

Keep your accessories modest, especially if your poncho is your statement piece. Keep chunky jewellery to rings and or bracelets. Switch up your shoulder or sling bag for a clutch or a satchels.

A belt is your best option for a shapely silhouette.

The beauty of brown

brown 1

The beauty of brown, with its earthy base, is an amazing and versatile colour. Ranging from dark rich chocolate, foamy latte, sweet caramel, fragrant coffee beans to warm honey. Classic and sophisticated, a perfect replacement for the timeless and elegant black.

The past season as well as the current season we are seeing deep brown on fringed jackets, rich caramel on wool coats, and hints of the colour mixed into ensembles, with accessories like leather bags and shoes. Wearing brown skilfully means that you can take your everyday pieces and making them feel a little bit more luxe and unexpected.

If black is you daily go to colour, then switching to brown can be a bit intimidating, but shades of brown like tan and beige can be fun to wear and perfect for any season.

If you rather stick to black and play it safe, you can still incorporating brown into your look with accessories in tan or light brown.

Wearing it head to toe

As with black and white, tan and camel are colour tones that looks great when worn from head to toe but if you are a bit on the fair skin side you should avoid wearing beige, and for medium skin tones its best to avoid lighter browns, as these shades will make you look washed out.

Put your best foot forward with Lyst this Autumn

We all love making lists. Whether it’s the weekly food shop or things to do on your day off - there is something very organised and efficient about setting yourself a good tick list. Well, fashion site Lyst, does exactly that, creating your own personal shopping experience.

The exciting website, www.lyst.co.uk allows you to shop for the latest trends from a variety of brands and stores, including everything from luxury designers Fendi and Stella McCartney to high street retailers Zara and Vans, and then create your own Lyst of items you’re lusting over. Browse through beautiful pieces from Rag & Bone, Michael Kors, Converse and Asos to name just a few, and add them to your own personalised ‘lysts,’ which are helpfully organised into different sections such as ‘wish list wardrobe,’ ‘gifts for me,’ and ‘gift lyst.’ Essentially, Lyst is a more ordered way to shop online, without any hassle.

As Christmas approaches, why not create your own Lyst on all things festive and fun for your winter wardrobe or how about the lovely, tan leather boots that are such a big thing this autumn. Group your favourite styles together and create whole looks by adding clothing, shoes, accessories and jewellery to find your perfect wish Lyst pieces in a variety of sizes and colours.

One of the biggest trends for autumn/winter 2015 is the ‘Ghillie’. You might not have heard of it, but you have definitely seen it before and you might possibly own a pair already. The ghillie is a type of shoe which laces up at the front, with no tongue originating from Scottish country dancing. Everyone from the Duke of Windsor, who was often seen sporting a pair of ghillies with argyle socks in the 1920’s to Naomi Campbell, who infamously wore purple wedge ghillies on the Vivienne Westwood catwalk where she took a tumble in 1993, have been seen wearing them. And on Lyst, you too can jump onto the band wagon and put a fashionable foot forward yourself, with current designers Isabel Marant and Aquazzura offering up some great styles.

Other great footwear available on the Lyst website are minimalist sneakers, functional flats, cosy boots and glamorous heels, which once added to your Lyst can be worked with other items you think will go nicely with your current wardrobe. It’s fun, free and very organised so start making your fashion shopping list today with Lyst.

Below are a couple of Lysts we put together on key Autumn fashion pieces and Halloween attire:

Summer is on its way and by know we have started shopping for our summer wardrobe, and doubled up on exfoliating and moisturising our bodies. But what about spending some extra time on preparing your hair for your summer holidays. The exposure to sun, salt and chlorine can damage your hair leaving them dry, brittle and prone to breakage. Here are some tips to help you prepare your locks for those sunny days lounging by the pool or on a sunny beach

Prevent Damage

Prevention is better than a cure, deep conditioner once a week as this will keep your hair in good shape all summer long. Also get colour treatments before the summer and avoid heat styling as much as possible.

Macadamia natural oil Deep Repair Masque, rebuilds dry and damaged hair with its combination or macadamia and argan oil.

Sun Protection

Too much exposure to the sun can leave your tresses dry and lifeless so spray your hair with a SPF spray. Wella Professionals sun protection spray contains a double phase formula. Phase 1 helps to protect hair against UV rays while Phase 2 contains a vitamin complex that hydrates the hair leaving healthy and soft to the touch.

Moisturize

Humidity brings out the frizz monster so you want to thoroughly moisturise your hair. Natural curly hair needs extra moisture, keep a spray bottle with a mixture of water and leave in conditioner to spritz your hair throughout the day.

I love the Naked Range and finds that the Naked Style Gorgeous Curls Taming Cream and their Leave-in conditioner helps to keep my natural curls defined and moisturised.
