Mr & Miss East Africa UK storms London
In my many travels I have been lucky enough to visit parts of East Africa including Uganda and Ethiopia and it is surely a beautiful region of Africa. On 3rd July 2010 all of the magnificent beauties from East Africa both male and female competed for the coveted crown of Mr & Miss East Africa.

The competition is organised by the industrious Pauline Long whom is also the brains behind the BEFFTA's (Black, Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television & Arts awards) and was held at Westminster Central Hall.

It was a beauty pageant with a difference as Pauline says "never before has a beauty pageant been judged by the audience. She believes that this is going "to be the new trend in the beauty pageant world". She beams with pride as she says "Mr and Miss East Africa are proud to be the first to let the audience have a say in picking the winner alongside a panel of only successful entrepreneurs who are willing to share their success tips with the young East Africans in business".

The panel of judges were amongst the finest out there, such as Justina Mutale, Rosemary Chileshe, Andrea P vybz, Sean Obedith, Jeff Suleiman, Sporah Njah, nana Tamakloe, Sam Ochieng, Sonnie Badu & Samata Angel.

It was a full house with an exciting range of entertainment of singers and dancers from across East Africa entertaining the audience. The contestants came from across East Africa, including Rwanda, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda and Kenya and we were entertained to a choreographed opening routine and the contestants came out three times in beautiful, creative, cultural outfits as well as business and evening wear.

The evening culminated with Degnte Abdeta Dauggie from Ethiopia being crowned Mr East Africa and Randa Shebly from Eritrea being crowned Miss East Africa.
