Fast Fashion London, the international trade exhibition show, has launched its inaugural Young Designer Competition.
Fast Fashion London promotes Quality, Proximity and Reactivity. The aim of the exhibition is to provide UK fashion retailers with an introduction to European and Mediterranean Basin suppliers. Fast Fashion London will also present the season's key colours for Summer 13 and Winter 13-14, along with the best private label collections.

Building on the strong foundations created in 2011, this year's exhibition is taking place on 23-24 October 2012 at the Olympia National Hall. The show gathers the entire textile supply chain with Fabrics, Manufactur¬ing and Collections, targeting high street chains and other main fashion retailers as visitors.

Ambassador for Fast Fashion London's Young Designer Competition has been announced as internationally renowned fashion journalist Hilary Alexander. The competition offers five aspiring designers the chance to exhibit their graduate collection at Fast Fashion London's exhibition at London Olympia 23-24 October.

The Competition is open to final year 2012 graduates and entrants are required to submit a selection of im-agery from their portfolios accompanied by a summary on their collection. The deadline is 5 October and stu-dents can enter via the Fast Fashion London website

The prize consists of a number of elements including and most notably the opportunity to exhibit at Fast Fash-ion London (23-24 October, London Olympia) and present to some of the major buyers and designers in the UK. In addition the winner will enjoy a trip for two to Paris that includes entrance to the Made in France Fair (April 10-11 2013) and spending money to enjoy in the fashion capital of Paris.

Remarking on the competition, Hilary said: "Fashion graduates are one of our most valuable talents and we must acknowledge and support young designers in these times. I'm delighted to be presiding over the judging panel for the Young Designer Competition."

The five finalists will exhibit at Fast Fashion London, where they will be judged by a panel of industry experts including Competition Ambassador Hilary Alexander, key retailers and media. The winner will be announced at Fast Fashion London on 24 October.
