Created by Hackney Walk as an important part of their Corporate Social Responsibility programme, the Stitch Academy aims to inspire Londoners to find out more about the fashion industry.
These exclusive opportunities will allow attendees to try out their skills under the guidance of London’s most prevalent and exciting designers and creatives all for free.
Opening the Stitch Academy this time around is Fashion East designer Mimi Wade, who will be inviting participants to explore her cute, rainbow world with a workshop in Fashion Illustration whilst rising star Ashley Williams will host a Print Design Workshop, using her fun trademark graphics as reference.
Christopher Raeburn will be offering an insight into recycling and sustainability with a ‘tote-tastic’ workshop in designing and making your own unique bag whilst Caitlyn Price will be sharing her sports luxe aesthetic with a Contemporary Womenswear Design Class.
Milliner Piers Atkinson returns with his popular Headwear Design Workshop meanwhile, menswear designer renowned for her diversity and innovation, Grace Wales Bonner will be hosting a Concept & Research Workshop.
Other events include; Textile Design with Fyodor Golan, an Editorial Workshop with fashion culture title i-D Magazine and Fashion Blogging 101 with super influencer Susie Bubble.
The series, which has once again been curated by acclaimed Fashion Stylist Louby Mcloughlin will be running for five consecutive weekends from Saturday 25 March – 29 April 2017.
Tickets are free via eventbrite registration. Entrants will be notified on a first come first served basis.
