Many wars get unnoticed in the media, while women pay the harshest price in conflict areas. To the silent victims of inequity and cruelty in the modern world, Keds collaborates with Women for Women International with a new fundraising campaign.

Monday, September 13th: Keds kickstarts its fundraising campaign for Women for Women International to support women in Afghanistan and modern conflict areas.

The American sneaker brand has announced its pledge to raise £30,000 for Women for Women International. Keds' fundraising campaign officially starts today, 13th of September, online. The donation will be sourced from the proceeds (100% of RRP) of three specially designed sneakers made to celebrate the strength and diversity of women. In addition to the sale of this special collection, people can make their own donation at the checkout or online at the Women for Women International website

About The Collection

This unique three-style collection features three creative designs: Keds Champion Sneaker Ladies (£65), Triple Up Rainbow People (£85), and Double Decker Rainbow People (£65). The Rainbow people print is the work of female artist Elizabeth Olwen and illustrates the beauty of womankind’s diversity, the power of unity, and the strength of women coming together. Elizabeth’s work is driven by the desire to leave something beautiful behind with every step she takes, a perfect sentiment for this partnership.

About The Campaign

To bring this sentiment to life, Keds is partnering with Women for Women International (UK Charity Reg: 1115109), a charity that helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives. Since 1993, Women for Women International has reached over half a million women in 8 conflict-affected countries, helping them work towards a better future for themselves and their families. The charity is currently active in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan with its 'Stronger Women, Stronger Nations' training programmes that equip women with the skills they need to earn money, regain their confidence, and actively participate in their communities.

Savannah Miller has been a long-term supporter and dedicated Ambassador for Women for Women International: 'I’m delighted to stand alongside Keds to support their incredible pledge in aid of Women for Women International. As a dedicated Ambassador, it means a lot to me to step out in these amazing styles knowing that they are helping women survivors of war get back on their feet. I particularly love the meaning behind the sneakers’ design; they represent the power and beauty of women uplifting and supporting one another. I hope that through this campaign we will inspire people to do exactly that: to take action and support women around the world who are often forgotten – the women survivors of war and conflict.'

Bornie Del Priore, president of Keds, states: 'Supporting women is what we’re all about at Keds. We exist to support women as they step out in life every day, and a big part of that is helping those in need. These limited edition shoes celebrate the sentiment of women coming together and supporting one another, and what better way to put this sentiment into action than with a donation to the amazing organization Women for Women International. We’re passionate about this very important work providing women living in the world’s most dangerous places with social and economic skills to transform their lives. I hope that by shining a light on this organization, Keds encourages women around the world to link arms and lift each other up.'

'Keds’ commitment to helping women feel their best and give them the confidence to step up to new challenges is exactly what makes them the perfect partner for Women for Women International,' - Sara Bowcutt, Managing Director, Women for Women International UK adds - 'Through our Stronger Women, Stronger Nations programme, women survivors of war learn the skills they need to rebuild their families and communities – so they too can put their best foot forward. I’m thrilled we’re working together on this special collection to raise vital funds and awareness for women survivors of war.'

Three sneakers to help women get back on their feet and be stronger than before, now Keds and Women for Women International await your action.
